Antibiotics, also known as antibacterials, are a group of drugs used to treat various infections caused by bacteria. Antibiotics work by either selectively killing (bactericidal) or inhibiting the growth (bacteriostatic) of bacteria. This pharmacology lecture covers topics such as classification of antibiotics; cell wall structure of Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, Mycobacteria; mechanism of action and side effects of Cell Wall Synthesis Inhibitors: Beta-lactams (Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Carbapenems, Monobactams), Beta-lactamases (Avibactam, Clavulanic acid, Sulbactam, Tazobactam), Fosfomycin, Cycloserine, Vancomycin, Bacitracin, Antimycobacterial drugs (Isoniazid, Ethambutol), mechanism of action and side effects of Cell Membrane Integrity Disruptors: Daptomycin, Polymyxins.

Today I passed pharmacology exam! You helped me a lot with your videos! Thank you and keep up with such a good job!
I go into vet school and pharmacology is one of the classes I took. As I know, pharmacy is more like applied chemistry, chemistry in practice. There is not so much math but a lot more of chemistry! In my country is quite hard to be accepted into pharmacy school because of big interest.
And what I can say as a student, faculty does not end up smart ones but persistent ones haha! The most important is that you're interested in what you're studying and then everything goes easier. So you don't need to be extremly smart but persistent and motivated to gather as much knowledge as you can. :)
Congrats! I have it at the end of this month :D
I know exactly what you´re saying :)
Now what you are doing

thanks a lot ... please cover antifungal drugs also

Thank you very much Sir. Regarding daptomycin, may I ask why the leakage of potassium causes depolarization rather than hyperpolarization?
Please provide some links, I want to contribute for these remarkable stuff!!
Hi good sir, your videos are awesome and very informative.
After reading and watching ur vids it helps me to summarize up the whole topic and improve my learning progress.
Would love to see more of the topics. Like anti-helmintics, anti-malaria, endocrine pharmacology, drug use In gastrointestinal diseases, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, fungal etc heheheh
Hi sir, do you have a video for cephalosporins also?
Please upload many more videos in chemotherapy
Thanks from Microbiology
I was looking for this topic moments ago....thx for helping
Good very good
awwwwwwwwsome !
Sir I have a question....It is generally said that bactericidal and bacteriostatic drugs are antagonistic to each other but why some combinations such as cefexime and azithromycin are used
can you please upload video about emetics -antiemetics and diarrhea & constipation
you won't find these drugs pharmacology. only books are helpful
He has them on his channel now
Please upload video on Anti viral and Anti cancer agents.
Which textbook do you use sir
Tq man
Please could you make a video on Transverse myelitis?
Thanks a lot Sir.
But i have a qusetion about the Daptomycin mechanism. "such as potassium to leak through causing depolarization of membrane" why is depolarzation? positive ion out--> inside more negative than outside --> it should mean repolarization or hyperpolarization. Am i correct or not? Thank you.
Sir next video drug asthma 😊 or drug for status epilepticus..
Could you please make videos for GIT drugs
Thank you in 2024 â¤â¤â¤ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™
Tq
Do you have a video on anti viral drugs?
15:09 how can potassium passage cause depolarization?
5:38 What about Carbapenemases ??
carbapenem antibiotics may dont using with beta lactamases but there is carbapenem resistant bacterias.
Your video are good but the video for topic are less just try to put videos for all topics it will be useful to us 🙂
1. Are the antibiotic producing isolates sensitive to known antibiotics? 2. If so, what does this tell us about the isolates? How might this relate to the antibiotics they produce?
