  • Everyone always asked me what I spent my money on after I sold Twitch to Amazon. I'm here with my Goat Capital partner, Robin Chan, to talk about what we spend our money and also how we think about investing. Watch to hear the full story!
Also, we were filming in Miami, so apologies for the sound quality! Going to invest in some lav mics.

I'm Justin Kan and I've been through the ups and downs in the startup world. I started Justin.tv, which morphed into Twitch and sold it to Amazon for almost $1 billion, became a partner at Y Combinator, and now I'm investing at my venture capital firm, Goat Capital, and working on my podcast, The Quest. Now, I want to share my stories, startup advice, throwback stories, life advice, behind-the-scenes content and what helped me achieve happiness here on CZcams.

1999 I worked at a movie theatre when I was a kid 16 yo and was talking to the security guard there. I commented on the cool Porsche in the parking lot and the security guard said that it was his car. He told me he sold his factory and businesses, retired with millions, travelled the world, bought the coolest shit and then got bored. @@shine7228 Not water, the brand. The brand decides where it comes from. Brand choice is usually made in regards to a person’s way of thinking or lifestyle. If someone’s rich, it’s safe to assume that their quality of life becomes higher, and so does the quality of food and water. Kirkland is the cheapest consumer water brand out there and their water is purified, not spring water. Yes, I chose to make the assumption that this guy, who is nearly a billionaire, is still humble enough to drink purified water - which can come from straight ground water seeping through concrete, disinfected, filtered and bottled - and does not care about judgement from viewers. Same reason why Warren Buffet used to drive his old caddy, because he is humble. Do ya get it now? If you understand the lifestyle of multimillionaires, most will probably revolt at the option of Kirkland water - or an old used car (still runs and drives, right?. And if you drink enough water, you’ll know that all purified water tastes funny. HE’S EITHER HUMBLE ENOUGH TO KEEP DRINKING IT OR HE CAN’T TASTE THE DIFFERENCE. I THINK IT’S THE FIRST. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, my guy
