Last step of throwing the pepper in the air is very clever. Pepper corns fly farther than stems and leaves. So they are separated

I bet the owner of this production is obviously rich. But he never think about the quality of product or processing it. Processing definitely could be improved. I know this is (South)asian style that ONLY COLLECT MONEY ANYWAY than being professional and qualitative producer. Otherwise how these guys can step foot on what their customers going to eat? HAVE THE OWNER EVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT ? WHERE IS HIS MORALITY?

Why would you wash it if I might ask? The corns are contained in a shell till they are in the curing process, when the shells actually fall off.

It's indeed Southern India; most probably in the high ranges of Kerala or Tamilnadu. Even though pepper has ecotypes adapted for varied climates, Silver oak (Grevillia Sylvestris) - the prop-tree shown here doesn't thrive in tropical Indonesia. Pepper originated in the western ghats in Karnataka & Kerala and has plenty of ecotypes/varieties available in it's place of origin. cheers!
