Thank you, Mike. I'm brand new to Studio One and recording. I've seen quite a lot of CZcams video's on ''how to'' use it. I must say yours are the best I've come across. Your presentations are concise, and your tutoring clear and easy to follow . . . I'm sticking with your channel. Thank you, again.

I'm on your playlist of Studio One Basics and, as someone who knows next to nothing about the software, I feel like I'm going to be learning a lot!! There's a ton of quality content for free here, I really appreciate all of the amazing knowledge you're just out here sharing, and the work that goes into that on your end!!

You are so right. Good file management starts at the beginning and using your C drive for "storage" is a bad (and outdated) idea from the start. I'm so glad I found this and your other video on file management. I've got the "full installation" on a USB D drive now along with the SI file folders you suggested.

Hey Mike, Thanks for such great instructional tutorials in layman's terms for an old simpleton like myself. I have scoured the internet in search of someone who could do what you do in a way that a true beginner like myself could benefit from. Thank God I found Creative Sauce Studio One basics. God bless you man. I have been singing and writing songs for the better part of 45 years, but now thanks to you and Studio One I'm starting to explore recording and hopefully create an album for my 90-year-old dad who has been bugging me for a couple of decades to have a CD of my music. Thanks again & keep up the awesome work!

Thanks for providing this instructional video, Mike! I already downloaded Studio One--I have the Prime Version. Although I'm a musician and songwriter, I'm embarrassed to say that I'm an amateur when it comes to recording software. I recently recorded a little draft in which I made my own drumbeat and my voice but that's as far as I got. I have a DAW and a MIDI that for some reason, I can't figure out. 2 things that are a bit challenging:
    1) there is no OMNI input for MIDI
    2) when you run youtube on one monitor, and run Studio One in another (reason, watching tutorials, and trying it out in real time in Studio One.. Not possible. Only option in SO is to set the audio to release audio driver when studio one is in the background; not what I expected.. bummer

Thanks Mike, I certainly did make it to the end! One of the best tutorials I've seen on any music subject - very clear. I've been dabbling with different DAW's - Logic till my Mac died, then Bitwig, Reaper and Studio One (Artist 3 that came with my Presonus Audiobox). Watching this has convinced me that I need to upgrade to Studio One Professional and finally stick with one DAW and stop messing around! S1 has come on so much since I first tried it 10 years ago. Have you done any tutorials on how to organize and use VST's, that's a current problem I'm having?

I realy love the stuff you do. I love your introduction to the cakewalk. Mike, You saved me from so much! I do not know how to thank you. If you ever need anything im at your reach if you write an email to me. I think At a near future I will be moving on to other DAWS. Not because they are better then Cakewalk, and the cakewalk with its pro-channel totally outbeat them all in the final end, but I need compatibility, and cakewalk do not support much hardware without setting it up. I do have Studio One and it looks super professional, but it mostly support stuff from companys they worked with and have income deals with .See there are daws and audio interfaces intergrated in to Ableton Live. I know you love Cakewalk and Studio One and so do I. But most musicians who play live use either FL-studio or Ableton live. FL studio for me is one big sequencer that have been trying to be a daw but it is still working as a VST plugin sequencer or a software trying to be a real DAW. I need a real recording studio that is compatible with stuff, and Ableton live seem to be the thing. After you showed me the BIG discount on TOTAL STUDIO MAX 2, and after getting it, I see allot of potential. Cakewalk was the most compatible daw but the least supporting the hardware and needed allot of programming. I have many daws, and all of them legal.. Cakewalk is still my number one due to the easiness of use. I used Cakewalk by sonar in the 1999 to make my music and at the time it was the best and beated cubase in performance. It was the best for me rejoining my music talents after 20 years of inactivity, and it is still my main daw but im slowly moving in the Ableton direction and would sugest that move with anyone who buy a midi controller that comes with the Ableton live Lite software. This software is probably the most intergrated daw with all the controllers existing in the world. Seriously it is! And way worth to get as it outperform the more expensive big brothers out there. It dont come with the PRO-channel for amstering, but if you got the Total Studio Max 2 then you have nothing to woprry because you got better then the pro channel for the mastering!
Mike thank you again for showing me cakewalk, and thank yuo for showing people the Studio One, I might use it some day as I have the full version and I had it long before I decided to jump in to Cakewalk. I just found Cakewalk better and easier touse then the Studio One, and because I used Cakewalk by sonar in the year 2000 I found cakewalk by bandlab more user friendly to me and with the straight on easy to understand features. I Love you Mike for the stuff you done on the internet for me and others and im not leaving your channel. You helped me so much I in person wanna meet you nad kiss your hand for it! And I hope Im not the only one. THANK YOU MIKE!

These tutorials are an absolute life-saver: so clear and concise and seem to have exactly what I need to know and done with an eye on the fact that your viewers don't want to be patronised: thank you so much. I have recently switched from Cakewalk to Studio One and therefore used to the controls on Cakewalk: I have managed to find most things, but in Cakewalk getting to a particular bar was easy: press G enter the number and off you go. Is there an equivalent in Studio One: for the life of me I can't find it if there is. Or am I going to be spending a life of scrolling to and fro?

ThanQ for the info! I'm definitely old school and have been out of sync with creating and producing music for almost 30 years. My equipment consisted of a Roland Juno 1, Alesis HR 16, Alesis MMT8, and a Fostex 4 Track recorder. All of which was soon abandoned for the Ensoniq SD1 ASR 10 and EPS 16plus. I was doing very well producing and creating music using my Ensonic equipment, then in 1993 I got married and my music career came to a halt! Now I'm trying to get back into my groove but I just can't seem to get the hang of DAW's! I've tried them all from Ableton Live to Zen Beats, but I've gotten nowhere. I recently downloaded the Demo of Studio One. With the help of your tutorial I actually feel like I can get the hang of it with the right tools! Do you have a list of tutorials that may be helpful? I plan on using my keyboards without midi, straight to the ar12 inputs like I'm recording audio. So, as such, l am right in saying l don't need to do the stages regarding midi in/outputs. Also can l install on several computers using the same key, or only one. Great resource tool for a newbie on studio one. Thanks
