This is a TellTale Walking Dead style first person post-apocalyptic thriller. It's currently in development by a solo dev who's still at university. The video features two different playthroughs, each with different choices and lots of violent deaths!
this is like the South park but whole game if they were adults and everyone got well..nuked?
Hate to be nitpicking here, but the circle movement parts is awkward and quite frankly annoying. Otherwise solid effort

this is so cool and very promising. With the deaths being so brutal, i hope the game will come out in the end of summer
by the start i thought it was going to be a 2d point and click game, when it changed from the cinematic to the 3d gameplay environment it caught me by surprise
Yeah, I was surprised by that too. It's a very unique aesthetic for a first person game.
The artstyle reminds me of a South African cartoon "Urbo: The Adventures of Pax Afrika", and I would like to this game being devloped further.
My dumb ass at first thought that this was actually a flash game somewhere from 2015

This looks a lot like an early 2000's flash game that escaped into the modern era. I kinda like it, actually.
Artsyle reminds me of Jack French and Ambition series combined (Retsupurae made a funny LPs of em). It certainly had this flash game charm.

same, this is deeply impressive for a single developer. Even just getting animation working properly is a huge ton of work. I hope they are able to finish the game.

Haha. yeah I deliberately lost the QTEs just to show off those brutal kills. If a character gets their head splatted by a sliding door, I've gotta show that! :)

Proceeds to murder the young boy a ton. Also, small note, he said he's bad at reading so it means he didn't read the "will be shot" sign. It also means he grew up in this situation from age 5ish.
Haha, to be fair she only starts trying to kill him when he runs off with the keys! If he gets away then they're dead - a Nocturnal's going to kill her and her friend. And I assume she's still a bit on edge about the three people in the graves out back (one of whom was a little kid) who died because they trusted a stranger.

@@Daniel100Benner I think it's all down to trust. The guy's armed and has just broken into the place where they live. The last time they trusted a stranger he killed three people including a child. It's unlikely that they would trust anybody at this point in time.
@@AlphaBetaGamer Your making odd assumptions - some people stolen from them, but it was the monster that killed the people. Maybe its because they didn't have enough stuff, but we don't really know what going on - not enough info.
Also - the graves are all the same adult size.
@@xBINARYGODx Yeah I guess it was the monster that killed them, but it was because she trusted a stranger and he stole all of their stuff. Also, Millie's grave is actually smaller than the others. It's assumed that she's the kid who drew the pictures at 03:40. There's even a drawing of Mia there.
The blend of polite British and guncrazy American postapocalyptic wasteland is hilarious. It's like a Canadian trying to politely rob a bank and apologising profusely for the trouble he's causing.

Lady says “there’s A nocturnal”, hopefully this means that the monsters are as threatening as a xenomorph in that ONLY ONE of them is dangerous enough to be a solo threat to a entire town or something
I feel like it’s not the same due to the setting. What’s scary about alien isolation is that you’re trapped in space with immediate death leaving the ship while this is a post apocalypse setting with a wide degree of space. Having multiple especially in one area seems more in line with the setting. Plus it’s called nocturnals so there will most likely be more than one.
I feel lile this was some sort of monster apocalypse or shi like that?
Yeah, I like "The Quiet Place" type apocalypses where there are less monsters than in a zombie apocalypse scenario but each individual one poses a lot of threat and you can't just kill it off easily

I agree it could have been avoided, but if The Walking Dead has taught me anything, it's that trust is in short supply in the post-apocalypse. Especially when both parties have guns. The note that you find around the back suggests that three of her friends have already died because they trusted someone they shouldn't have.

Hi! In one ending you escape. In the other ending where you kill the girl (and the other girl shoots instead), your tire gets shot and you crash the truck.

Search the building to uncover graves and messages does nothing, blasting the Glass door does nothing, giving keys does nothing. Game is full of empty choices, just like Tell Tale games.
Yep, that's something that happens frecuently because how intricately is to write all the choices and other choices and variants that comes after, but they're still there as a way to keep you involved with the story.
I wonder if it was possible to get the fuel, immediately open the shutter door with the car jack and get out.
But otherwise, agreed, might have been one of those cases where it's not immediately obvious, but if you don't try to harm either of the girls, later in the story they'd be less aggressive? IDk.
At first i was like : oh a old school point and click zombie thing that remind me of old day flash game .

I hope some QTE moment will be changed, the Spacebar one especially. The death animations are nice but it's a bummer that they've been made but most people won't be experiencing them because the QTE is too simple.
Wow. Deceptively good. The acting and writing make it feel as if you're inside a mini series.
I really don't get why in the alternate route, the kid doesnt decides to bring the gasoline, after all, the kid managed to threaten 2 adults with a gun, the kid could've forced them to get away from the door and eventually escape with the truck AND the gasoline
Well that explains why the game is called "Nocturnals". Because of those monsters that we saw a little in the trailer videos called Nocturnals. They possibly caused the end of the world. Seems similar to that movie "A Quite Place", except you don't have to stay silent all the time and it has some "Walking Dead" vibes. Interesting
i have a theory: nocturnals are like bats. when it's night they hunt with maybe night vision eyes. and when there is daylight the hide or sleep. and they made it out to here because of the meteor. being the reason of the store have meteor sales. because maybe they thoung it would be an amazing event but it landed here. so when it landed thousands if not MILLIONS of people ghathered in the crater and maybe a massacre occured there and extended in the world defeating armies and everything until only a few people survived maybe 1 millon or a thousand humans. and if my calculations of how the place looks like it happened maybe 15 to 20 years ago and maybe ted was 4 or 6 because he can't read well and he thinks maybe everyone is alive but no its just him trying to survive a world destroyed by nocurnals and is on a mission maybe to find his parents. while trying to survive this apocaliptic world.
BUT HEY THAT'S JUST A THEORY, A GAME THEORY!

the concept for this game is lit honestly , a game that switches between 2d and 3d style in a zombie-like universe ? sounds lit ! the fact that its also inspired by the walking dead ( one of my favorite games , ever ) makes it even better ! if i had to comment on anything though , is that the events do feel like they're too slow and too quick to avoid . however i'm definitely buying this game when it comes out !

I really like this idea! Seems awesome. Something I noticed though is it seems really awkward. Like when Maggie grabbed the main characters leg, they say there for a good… 5 seconds? And then proceeded to gracefully kick her in the face and wait 10 seconds to decide whether to run or shoot her. I think things should be a bit more fast paced, even though I know this game is supposed to be cinematic.

It's a little bit jarring to see the choppy, South Park style animation (which I like) interspersed with 60fps movement here and there.
Some of the sudden death animations were hilarious though, especially when he unexpectedly had his head cut off by the garage gate.
