  • How to fish from the shore for Wrasse and other fish. Here I share with you how I target fish from the rocky shoreline. I explain the fishing methods, choosing the tide for the location, what fishing rigs and fishing baits. Wrasse for many sea anglers in the UK is the first fish you ever catch. They are a wonderful colourful fish, they live close to the rocks and shore, they fight hard and they like a wide range of baits. Share the day with me and enjoy some stunning scenery and some wonderful fish.
    Here are links to some of the tackle I use in this video. I hope it helps.

    I've said this before, but thanks for all this content - when life gets hard some of your videos will pop up and they instantly take me away from the stress and make me feel better, it's the closest I can get to that first breath of sea air when I'm in situations where I can't sack work off and just go play on the beach. I reckon your videos have that effect on a few lads on here, so thanks. Hope life's good to you and your family!

I have always said that we simply share what we know and love doing in the hope that helps people out in some way. So to hear this from you really makes the effort we put in worth it. 😊👍🏻💙

    The reason we caught those stunning wrasse, why you of course, John. It was from following your advice, rigs and tactics that we had an absolute blast out at Godrevy, from the rocks.

    My mum's favourite fish to catch, she's a master. I remember watching her, dad and a mate ledgering for a boss Ballan in the harbour for over an hour, and eventually hauling out a 4 pounder after several ragworm feeds. They're really fierce on the rod, properly pulling it over if you're not careful. Thankfully they're also tenacious and greedy. You just took me back down memory lane. Brilliant footage as always John, thank you 😉

    I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, about 60 miles due east and inland of Rockaway Beach, Oregon. When I was a girl we went to the beach - you would probably say coast - at least 4 to 8 times a year. My mother would take us to the rock pools at low tide. Sometimes we'd go clamming. We'd occasionally look for berries or other wild foods. Sometimes crabbing. Rarely we'd fish. I always wanted to learn more about fishing.
    I did 5 years Active Duty in the US Navy so I had a chance to go to some really exotic places. My shipmates would go fishing. I went to the beaches with a guy who fished, and that was great fun.
    Your videos, which I only discovered about 2 months ago, are fascinating. Your work in front of the camera is quite good! I especially like your underwater work, but it's all very wonderful.
    But it's the editing that I think sells the show. Do you do your own editing?

    Great video John! Loved a bit of Wrasse fishing down in Cornwall. Used to use old spark plugs from my mates garage as rotten bottom weights. Headed up to some rock marks in Northern Spain in August will definitely be looking for some Wrasse.

    Took my new rod to Portugal last week (after getting into fishing thanks to this channel) managed to catch a small sea bass! Was really good practice sorting out lines and lures and stuff, really just want to say thanks for getting me into fishing, definitely started something here... 😛 can't wait to carry it back on in the UK now, closest access to sea for me is Maldon so will see what I can do here 🙂 Thanks and keep up the fantastic content!

    I like fishing onshore on the rocks you never know what you'll get. Well done on video editing and also how to bait the worms. Smart idea to bring extra weights and hooks when fishing on the rocks I know by first hands. John, look like you were getting the bigger fish casting out than fishing in close, very nice.

    • @TheFishLocker
      @TheFishLocker  Před 2 lety +1

      The bigger fish just came through on the feed as the tide got higher. None of my casts were further than 50 yards.
