The dollar store does have some pretty great deals. And their inventory is always changing, so it's fun to go every once in a while, and see what they have!

Theres a ton of other good items there for equestrians too...I personally would never use ANYTHING scented on my horses though..dawn dish soap or unscented baby shampoo and conditioner are the way to go.
Here are some things i thought of-
Tissues, hair net, lip balm, hair bobbles/ties, string, nametags and toothbrushes(for cleaning tack).

Tomorrows plans: ride feed eat! Go the the dollar store!! Then ride my other 3yr old then ride my 12yr old... Then plan for the next day ! Can you do one for shows?

Shoot I couldnt afford to buy 4 different kinds of blankets, I bought thick blankets from the goodwill and made winter blankets. Trying to make boots next

be careful with olive oil as it will go rancid but coconut is better also it makes a great fly spray
and conditions their coat too ;)
But wont they eat the coconut oil or try to lick it off??
You could use the bath brush to put soap on them for a bath

I’d love to ride but it’s too expensive for my family 😢$1,300 dollars for every 12 weeks
WOW thats ridiculous! IDK where that is but the instructors around me charge $45 for an hour lesson..once a week for 12 is $540! I think I paid less than that for a semester of college riding 3 days a week!
It 25 for a half hour and 45 for a hole hour
For me
I pay $350 for 10 lessons
We pay $30 an hour lesson because I do my trainers stalls and feed + I lease her gelding I do 2 lessons a week so 2 lessons a week for 12 weeks is $720 so just 1 lesson weekly for 12 weeks is $360
Plus we pay $225 for my lease monthly so that’s $675 every 12 weeks plus the $720 for lessons so $1,395 a month
I know I’m privileged but i also have been riding for almost 5 years and have saved over $600 to get my own horse as a 15 year old without an actual job I have made a lot of it from making and selling stuff and my Etsy will be opening soon it’s called Happyhorses check it out I make fly bonnets, custom stall signs, and I may start making some other things soon.

Personally I was taught to never put anything scented on horses and to ONLY use baby shampoo/conditioner or dawn dish soap because they work well but are gentle
Dawn dish soap. For my horse bc its kinda made for anamals
I use regular scented liquid human shampoos and stuff for my horse! Works out well for me

This comment was a while ago but for anyone else who’s wondering… it does not clean your tack like saddle soap but it keeps your leather nice and moisturized. You will still want to use a leather cleaner along with the olive oil
