I love how naturally creative you are Louise
Thank you, Debbie, from a military background, to manufacturing, where it’s always follow the rules in the steps, and stay within the process, now, the fluid art where it is completely blown apart that paradigm. I credit fluid Art for allowing my brain to open up.
Thank you so much Be_Unique😘 I appreciate you being here and always supporting me. Thank you so much.!
I just wrote a big oil paragraph, then lost it! This is outstanding!!! Love it!!
Oh, no, Charlene, 😘I’m sure it was beautifully written. Thank you so much for being here and supporting me spread the word and hopefully make one for yourself!
Absolutely beautiful. I love raw wood..I appreciate you keeping most of the wood natural...fantastic idea!!
Thumbs up Louise Aunt.
Watching now ❤
Thank you so much Aishi😘 as always I appreciate the time you take to support all of us!
WOW, WOW, and WOW!!!🤩 It’s so kind of you sharing this process. Thank you 😊
So earthy looking !!! You have such a supply of wood right there in your backyard to look for, naturally fallen and decayed. I love this. It's all a learning process from you to myself and others. You give me such inspiration!
Wow, thank you so much 😘iris, I’m so so glad I’ve inspired and hope you’re creating something very special!
Oh Louise, I am at a loss for words! I could watch you create all day long. You truly have a gift, sent from the heavens above ❤
Thank you so much 😘Leaetta, I really appreciate your comments, you’re too!!
These are just fabulous!! Love the colours, they are very fitting for the natural wood.
Thank you so much! 😘Joey, I try to keep in mind the wood when creating the bloom
OM Goodness Louise! I am so jealous. Hahaha! You’ve struck GOLD! This work-reclaiming the beauty of nature! Simply glorious! Warms my soul. I am a lover of wood and I truly applaud you! I see your vision!!
I guess now I have to take a hike! 😂. Scouting! Holy moly the creative juices as flowing.
Entirely grateful for your in depth tutorial! Love my Dremel too!
✌️💜😊
Thank you, Dee😘 and yes, I do think I’ve struck gold. No matter how well these videos do I will be making these no matter what. I certainly hope they do catch on though, because this is really fun. And yes, taking a rotten piece of wood from the earth and massaging it into something that gleams is so satisfying I can’t even explain. And the ability to marry fluid art with it is just the perfect union in my opinion!
Such a beautiful way of melding nature and your art and turning it into something so magical❤
Thank you so much 😘dlyose. I have a lot more coming too, love creating these!!
Louise, after watching your first video, this one, I thought, would be more or less just the step process of how to do this, but your ability to go into depth, far exceeded my thought process 😉 I love the ability to see and hear, what and how, you intend to do what you are doing, and what steps are necessary to create such a beautiful piece of art!! Taking the time to actually show each tool and when to use it, gives us students, the knowledge to just keep going to achieve the next step. This piece came out as gorgeous as the first one, and I for one, am truly "proud for you" and your determination, to create with love and joy, this "what it can be" from what it was in the beginning. Please keep teaching, and showing us your video's as they are truly some of the best I've seen, period!! Take care, keep creating, and Thanks so much for sharing your gifts of natural beauty...🤗❤❣
Thank you So much 😘Jude, WOW, thank you, made my morning! Honestly, I feel it’s important to provide value in the videos/tutorials. If someone’s gonna take their time to watch me, I need to make it worth their while. And I’m doing it anyway I might as well take the time to explain what I’m doing. My channel certainly isn’t based in “look at me” … I think I also find the need to explain things while I’m doing it to help in understanding. It just kind of is the way I am. I hope people find value here, and I really hope to grow 😉And help people to create what they want to create.
In my life I've learned that the best teachers, are always learning, as they teach and you seem to do that each video 😊 Thanks 🤗@@LouiseMcKayArt
Louise this is so creative. The wood is sure a gorgeous piece. I love this. ❤❤❤❤. The end result is remarkably beautiful.
Thanks so much 😊 Carolyn I appreciate your ongoing support and taking the time to leave your thoughts!
@@LouiseMcKayArt I shared with my husband Charles. I know he will love this. ❤️❤️❤️
beautiful spread Louise!❤ You are having lots of fun and I love this work!😍
That's awesome Louise, thank you so much for sharing it with us 🙏💖 I Enjoyed watching
This is stunning Louise! You continue to amaze me with your art and talent!! Much love!🤗💕
This is beautiful and I love how you explained each step on how to do this.
Thank you August 😘as I go through the series I will be spending more time with each of the steps to fully explain it once I reached the final end.
What a very unique idea. Your tutorial is really great and helpful if anyone wanted to dare to try this!!!
This is beautiful Louise. Wow. I know someone who does things with wood and puts a gloss finish like you have on them. They are gorgeous. I never thought about having painted parts on them like you have done with yours. This is beautiful. 🥰🥰🥰
I so appreciate the time and effort you are putting into the tutorials of creating these amazing pieces! Love the step processes you are giving us with these! Very jealous of that stack of raw stock you have! Lol! But excited to see it, knowing that there are more of these videos coming! Truly beautiful work, Louise!
Thank you so so much 😘Jennifer for your appreciation and comment, sometimes when I put so much in I’m hoping it benefits people out there, and I try to make all the tutorials worth your while watching. This creation is a little niche, so I’m glad it’s resonating!
I love my dremel. A couple of thoughts the less expensive sanding drums don’t last as long. They do make a wire wheel to remove without sanding things away. I’m in love with series if I ever find dried branches it’s on my list.
Thanks so much 😘Linda appreciate the tips, I have several more that I will be creating here getting through all of the process!
I just adore these Louise❤ It makes my heart go pitter patter! Im obsessed with wood as it is, tyvm, lol so now i need to make a trip up to Mt Charlseton to sleuth out some lovely pieces of wood to try this. Well, after some of the snow melts anyway.
Im gonna pass on a resin tip i learned from RK3 Designs to make your work easier! After the resin stops moving and starts to get gooey, spray some 91% isopropyl alcohol on your gloved hand and smooth out your drips after you scrape the most of it off. It gives you a super clean, shiney finish instead of jagged scrape marks. You can do this for the sides of wood round and shapes as well. Hope thats helpful❤
Thank you so much, 😊 Dawne, I wish you the best of luck in your search for some nice pieces of wood, where I am there everywhere there is no shortage. Thank you for the tip. I’m going to try next time. About how long do you wait before you can start using the alcohol? It must be about an hour at least or maybe you could just let me know. Yeah getting the drips up to pain in the butt especially once it’s fully cured!
Sorry I didn't see this sooner! Yes, you wait until your resin stops flowing but will make a string when you dip a stick into a drip. It depends on the viscosity of your resin, 45 to 60 minutes
It’s funny how you say “Pardon my big head “ when you were blowing on the paint 😊😅
Lol DIY, yes and that was right after I zoomed in the camera I should’ve pulled it back and then came in later lol.😂
Hello Louise, your creations are absolutely stunning.
I am in Canada, what could I use to replace the Valspar for the translucent pillow? Thank you 😊
Hi Crystal, thank you, my only thoughts about a replacement for Valspar would be any semi gloss or gloss base C paint or base three paint. That means the paint has to have color added for use. So with the base 3 or base C it’s untinted and that should work.
Me again. I use to be a silk screener way back. My job was to put transparent enamels and lacquers on glass. Now you've got my gears spinning. I wonder if it's possible to use those paints in fluid art on glass.
Hi Oswald, I might start calling you “me again”😂 and yes, absolutely you can paint on glass. I made a couple of my paint skins on the glass and then peeled them off for the pieces, so absolutely. Can you tell me what a transparent enamel is, what kind of brand you use I mean? I’m looking for something that is transparent to try another experiment on. I want to pour a painting on another painting with the second painting having a transparent base so when it dries the first one and the second one show through. But don’t tell anyone.
Do you have a video where you finish with the resin. I would think it would be tough to do
It’s actually easy, I show some of the process in my 1st video about 3/4 way through. Here’s the link…czcams.com/video/iFcO-GZsyD0/video.htmlsi=2YSexqizJ7SsnOgq Also in general resining for coasters is here: czcams.com/play/PLD3gEym1bn-M9y0sN14xZtWhELy3RNrlB.html&si=7rfSXlXgbX9YoZZt
Dear Louise, What did you use under the paint? I tried it, but it didn't come up... I'm totally a beginner. Thank you sharing your amazing work!
Hi Gin 😘and I’m glad you’re here, we were all beginners once. Under the paint, I use a silicone mat because the silicone will act as a barrier and not absorb the paint, so that within a few days are able to pull up the paint skin without any problem.👍🏼
@@LouiseMcKayArt Dear Louise! Thank you so much for your advise and kindness. I will do it like this! :) Btw my first try was kind of successful, I'm totally happy with it, even if it is not as good as yours, but it made me really happy. So I will work with it for sure. :)
Your piece of wood has been worked over by carpenter ants. I recognize the tunnelling pattern. If it had been termites more of the wood, would have been devoured. The wood was also part of the root system. The warped twisted piece is actually a root.
REALLY, 😲I definitely see the ants tunnel, which I found actually kind of cool, I would not have guessed that this was actually a root! Thank you for that insight it changes the way I look at things and often the most interesting pieces I find are the ones that are the base of the tree where it connects to the ground. You are quite insightful and observant. Thank you for your information I really appreciate it!
OK you make it look easy but how do you resin both sides without getting runs thanks for replying
Hi Lorraine, I only resin the 1 side and I clean up the drips in the end with an exacto blade
Me again, I tried responding, but it wouldn't go through. So I came back here.
Mum's the word. All I remember was that the paints were clear and we thinned them with mineral spirits. I believe they were regular national name brands. If anyone could pull it off that's you.
beautiful" "love🥰 it !! mime question is,, do u put any heat towards the fusion skin?? torch, or heat gun. to get any bubbles out t !! ??
Thank you, Dallas, every time I use resin I torch it to get the bubbles out. I think that’s kind of a standard practice for anyone using resin.
