    I’ve been playing almost exclusively lightweights, and been smoking people. Nearly everyone I seen just copying boring meta builds like dual Zimmerman can’t play for shit, so I just run circles around ‘em.
    I specifically made the most lame ass Linear Rifle keep away build to make Zimmerman abuser quit, but honestly just dancing on top of their heads with pistols or smg’s and a missile till they get staggered and then switching to a blade took a bit of getting used to, but it’s smoking people now.

      Honestly I don't think dual shotties are the way to go at all. I use dual pistors and dual tasers. Pistols stagger anything quickly and dual tasers will instantly kill a staggered lightweight. Far more efficient than trying to AB and land shots occasionally against any competent player who will just AB back, tank the shot, kick your teeth in and instantly melt you.

      I was running into issues trying to tailor to my pistol build and pilebunker, but the window is sometimes too tight.
      I ended up going with the laser dagger, and it’s just been 3 hit dagger + Kick then an Assault Armor proc if needed

      I can keep up with the fastest Boss on my max AP Biped with Dual Zim. While AC fights lasts 15 to 30 seconds for me.
      So unless you're a long ranged AC with seeker missiles. Then, lazer rifles, drones, rockets etc. Are all useless against me unless you time it well.

      Depends on the build... I use a max AP Biped with Dual Zim and Dual Earshot in NG++. I can eliminate all ACs within 15 to 30 seconds in close ranged combat.
      Long ranged and well timed shots are my weakness. If the projectile can hit me in ways to make value. Otherwise, you're just wasting bullets until I close the gap.

      Yeah I have a bipedal that basically's assault goose for a long time and it'll assault booster around and opponent if I miss. Basically making me extremely difficult to fucking stagger

      I prefer gen 4s qb chaining instead of relying on overboost. Seeing as how they designed gen 6, they seem to want to stray far away from gen 4 which is a shame. I love gen 6 but its movment couldve been done alot better instead of retaining gen 5s movement. It whatever, i take whatever i can get at this point... Sigh.

    real talk for a sec:
    - attitude recovery stat is COMPLETELY broken, heavyweights should not recover faster from stagger than lightweights(seriously wtf this is the worst thing about weight balance atm)
    - direct hit damage needs to be toned down massively, deleting 10-14k AP in one combo is dumb as shit, 150% should be the max for low DPS weaps like assault rifles
    - every weapon that isn't shotguns or superheavy shit like bazookas or multimissile launchers lacks stagger
    - muzzle correction on heavy weapons needs to be checked, makes dodging stun needles a complete gamble
    - handheld charged weapons like linear rifles shouldn't overheat after one shot
    - PROJECTILE SPEED INCREASE PLEASE
    - (personal ask) reduce the "charge time" for AB, feels way too long to use in actual combat

      I didn't realize it for a while until tanks and quads were the only ones dropping out of my combos, it feels so bad to beat up on lightweights in this game

      First take Is huge.
      First noticed It while playing PvE in the Mission where liberation front asks you to deal with G4 and G5 mid Mission.
      G4 legit stays staggered for maybe half a second and then shoots a Rocket + Songbirds to your face.
      0 reward for being able to stagger A TANK.
      I Guess the game expects US to Just spam track missles and aoe shit like plasma weapons and granade launchers at tanks from distance and call It a day

    This is kinda how I've been getting through duels in PvE. Assault Boost is a fantastic tool. It simultaneously increases the Impact you dish out and decreases the Impact you receive. Not to mention it practically makes you immune to missiles. What's sad though is how limited your weapon options are when that's your strategy. Anything other than shotguns and missiles are basically useless if you use your boost properly.

    I got some ultra lightweight footage using a totally different strat. The long handgun + basic mg and 2 laser orbits. I use the vertical thruster and by teetering perpetually above them they cant target me (with most weapons)

    I want to see people to try shields in PvP so bad. Unfortunately I can't try myself because of my specs - starting from STRYDER and operation wall climber my whole PC freezes. But I think they could be a great tool, at least for 1v1

      In my experience using shields in PVP, everyone and their mom runs burst weapons. Pistols, zimzams, linear rifles, etc. Due to this, if you shield more than 1-2 attacks, your shield gets popped and you get staggered. It's decent for if you're out of energy and needing to evade missiles, but outside of that, I don't think they are super viable atm.

      @@samferrell7929 I used it a lot in the missions that I *could* play and the simulator to largely cover myself when I'm firing my shoulder laser cannon point blank. The simulator test AC also has a linear rifle and the shield protects me against it pretty well. Overall I think you should try different shields depending on if you are using them in addition to regular evasion, or are going to more or less rely on them. My build was light reverse joint and I used it to protect myself while I was being greedy going in for point blank shots. Which meant that I was using the initial guard to the fullest. Whether they are good or not... I just want someone to actually test for me to see it. There's like, no footage at all on youtube and I'm so frustrated.

    The anti-Zim build is anything with long range and songbirds on a quad and any map with buildings. Stay exactly 200 meters in the air and rain shots downward. Shotgun builds have low range so they generally cant reach you to land shots and its very high EN consumtion to fly upward toward you while dodging attacks so that opens the opportunity to dual-songbird when they are dropping from the sky. Land on any tall building to get your energy back and do it again.
    Makes shotgun builds so mad that they always quit because they only like to go against ACs that their build is effective against but cant handle anything else or wont bother switching up tactics.
    Same goes with the OP melee builds and chainsaw builds.

    Even with this, it gets completely stomped out if anyone has any amount of braincells. Lightweights and bipeds got SO shafted. God forbid you fight an aggressive tetra with buerzel kick spamming you on reaction

      Heavy Bipeds can be more threatening in close ranged combat.
      Dual Zim + Dual Earshot + 2nd Coral Core etc.
      I can eliminate every AC build within 15 to 30 seconds. Except for long ranged seeker missile ACs.
      In short... I can keep up with the fastest Boss, so unless a player is faster or time their shots. They have no real chance to win in close range combat.

      Not really... I can end any AC within 15 to 30 seconds while tanking every shot if I wanted to, in close range combat.
      Dual stun needles + Assault Armor is nothing to me when I can easily out space both attacks before ending the enemy AC soon after.
      ... When I can keep pace with the fastest/end game bosses. What makes you so certain that any other build who isn't long range has a chance against me? Especially, to survive beyond 60 seconds since 30 seconds is my upper limit against high AP Tanks while 15 seconds is against the lowest AP Bipeds...
      All the stun needles in the world is of no actual threat to me, if you can actually hit my AC with it before I close the gap.
      Where you require one good shot. I can do that 4 times over in one minute.

    I know you like the dual shot guns, but I feel if you just added missiles to your build you could be continually be doing damage because they have insane range. All you’re doing is flying at them and missing kicks anyways…

      Dual Zim + Dual Earshot + Kick on a Heavy Biped at max AP is extremely effective at close range but terrible against long ranged Seeker Missile ACs. Mainly against, Dual Seeker Coral Missile + Dual Hand Missiles (the 3rd version) + Hover Tank or Spider Legs with the 2nd Coral Core.
      If those ACs builds are not on the field, then I can easily dispatch any AC within 15 to 30 seconds.
      Maybe Lazer Beams style weapons can counter me but you have to time your fully lv3 charged shot well. If you miss, then you're dead.
      And funny enough. Vs Dual Gatling is nothing to me when it's simply not fast enough to be valuable against all the stagger and displacement I do, along with high mobility for my heavy biped build.

    I predicted it would be like this. What do you expect when you have instant turns, no turning speeds, and auto lock? The advantage of LWs in past games was their speed, so if they got in close, they would be dancing all around you, in all manners avoiding lock. Now, everyone can follow easy, with or without aim-assist. What did people really expect was going to happen? The mechanics of this game are trash for PvP. I had said tat for LWs its going to be hit and run cause everyone can follow you in the heads up. This game is so stupid smh.

    In 1v1 that is probably true. I do wonder if that is the only thing that makes sense though. I'm not sure how the balance should be to make them viable any other way. By nature they need to have lower weapon load/AP/Stab and they are already faster in both normal movemnt and quick boost. Some kind of stupid strong generator with very low weight/ requiring low weight might be another angle I guess?

    On larger maps I just rock laser handguns and AB away, let the laser orbits do the work and occasionally turn around and shoot from a safe distance. Kinda cowardly, but its the only effective strat I found that allowed me to use light reverse joint in a Zimmer meta

      For a max AP Biped. VS Dual Gatling is not an issue.
      In fact... Outside of missile builds. High Stun/Stagger builds is the most dangerous counter to face. Particularly from a Quadruped.
      Tanks are not consistent in this regard. You can QB through their combo. Unlike against Quadrupeds.
      But if you use a light weight AC?... Good Luck!

    It seems like you are playing with a controller, I would say try out this strategy with mouse and keyboard if you are somewhat comfortable with it, it would take like 2 missions to get fully used to. The non hard locked aiming with mouse is just WAY too easy especially with the fast build. Also man did FromSoft hit the nail in the head with assault boost controls, it turns slow enough for you to quickly aim and shoot without changing boost direction very much, but also you can do a full 90 degree turn if need be, but you have to do a wide turn (follow a 'racing line' if you will) for that.

      Quick turn is locked to Tab on keyboard, so it's harder to quick turn while Assault boosting. It's the only non-bindable key, which sucks cause I want to use quick turn tech so bad but can't.

      I use them along with the coral missile and a back laser gun it fucks people up that have super heavy builds and can't dodge all of the missles

      Missiles are actually easy to strafe for any Biped because of hit box size.
      But yeah... Dual Coral Missiles is nuts and paired with the 3rd version of the dual Seeker Missile (hand weapon). It basically one shots any AC who can't dodge properly, and long before the two massive Coral AOE arrives.

    you are using quad shotguns, ofc you need some gap closing - assault boost is the best tool...
    But this is such a niche use case. You will get eaten by other shotguns playing like that.

      There are a few ways to skin this cat, but it looks like he is maximizing stab based on the head choice. By far the most important thing is making sure you have quick turn and you know how to execute it well in your control scheme!

      why not both is what I was thinking. I like the ability to play against the same person however many times we wanted, it was something I had not seen in a while. But every single person I met was so much further in the story. If it was gonna be like this why not lock pvp till ng+? Because endgame and ng+ etc weapons vastly outclass anything I have. @@randomanon8408

    I cant try pvp because i pirated the game but i use a similar strategy to beat bosses that fly all over the place. Assault boost>shotgun>laser lance>pilebunker>shotgun>expansion>kick.
    One shots most AC bosses, idk about PvP.
