ISLE OF WIGHT: The Devil's Chimney and Shanklin Chine

- Two of the Isle of Wight's most spectacular natural attractions are the Devil's Chimney outside of Bonchurch, and Shanklin Chine (chine is a unique term on Isle of Wight term for a gorge). One is a popular tourist trap but well worth the few pounds it costs to get in especially with 7-day return and decent access for those with mobility issues, the other is a hidden gem that takes very little effort to find and only parking cost to check out, but does require a good level of fitness to explore.

What an amazing walk down between the rock walls! Thank you for the wishes for us all! The same to you…May all your problems and negative things in your life be resolved 😊🙏. Another great video of some beautiful places to visit. Thank you.
It definitely was stunning....and thank you for the return wishes.
The boat ride looked awesome. Looks like a beautiful place to go explore with your pups. Your wish was so amazing! It gave me goosebumps. Very sweet!
I enjoyed it....Cody, not so much although he is usually okay if it's calm waters; he doesn't like to travel much. It was definitely a place that surprised me for sure.
Lovely video. Very beautiful. Cheers for sharing. ATB Grays
Thanks Graham :-)
I love the Isle of Wight. I stayed in Shanklin last time, good food in the pubs in the old section on the main road. The Chine is very nice in the evening with the lights on. Regards JB.
I never made it back for the evening...wish I had but was spending time with family. Definitely seems like it would be worth checking out though :-)
Wow, it’s beautiful. I’ve never been to the Isle of White. That’s going on the list. Lovely video thankyou 👌
There is a lot to see packed into such a small island...definitely some things worth checking out. I have other videos about the island and there are still some more I'd like to make from the east side
Last time I was here it was with my late friend Darren who passed during Covid. I have some great memories ther with him hiking and wildcamping a beautiful island very much so worth exploring especially some of its not famous but should be hidden gems great video again cj
Glad you enjoyed Paul...thank you
I have watched many videos of the Isle Of Wight, but none that I recall featured such picturesque walks.
I must admit these were definitely the highlights of the places I've been on the Isle. Loved Compton Bay too (another short video) because the dogs had so much fun there. Hoping to find a few more hidden gems though.
The IOW is not far from us and makes a good day out if you are walking or just wandering about in the sun. Honeymooned there 50 years ago.
I'm lucky that my mom lives there so go a few times a year and it's always lovely
That was some staircase, would be a bit of a nightmare if you met someone coming in the other direction when you were halfway up/down coz it looked pretty narrow. I love the wishing seat, thanks for the wish, how very thoughtful :D You have to love a tree with so much character, I walked far enough up the Cleveland way path to find a big old oak tree, gave it a hug, had a little sit and think, and then made my way back to the carpark, as far as I am concerned I have walked on cleveland way, I'm happy lol!
Thankfully it wasn't a long staircase...would.just have had to turn around. I was suprised it wasn't more popular amd busy
@@WilderhopeAdventures I reckon u must have gotten there early enough to get it to urself 😊
@@MetallicrealitE I booked it for 8am on a Sunday...had two others following me but pretty much had the route to myself...was awesome not to have to wait on people, or have them watching you
@@WilderhopeAdventures I can see what that wasn't a busy period lol. I get that, some times u want an experience to be just urs and not shared by a random stranger.
All gone now due to a massive landslide last month, lucky to have seen it.
Ah, gotcha. That's a shame. I know it had been closed off as I did the second half of the Isle of Wight Coastal Path in October
