  • Exploring the Museum of the Museum of Arts of the XXI century located in Rome, Italy. The building was designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid. Born in Iraq, Zaha would come to be one of the most prolific architects of the post-modern era.
Her early work incorporated the ideals of modernism but as her career and experimentation progressed the line became an angle, and the angle gave way to the curve. Zaha was and is my favorite architect, I think her work, or the idea of the work boldly shouts "ANY THING IS POSSIBLE" - JUST DARE TO DO IT"! That message resonated with me many years ago when I was a child and came across her designs in books and architecture blogs.
This was my very first time seeing a Zaha building in-person, although I visited the Roca Gallery in London (20102), but that is a store outfitted versus ground up construction.
I really enjoyed this building, I visited in February, a month before her shocking passing. She will be missed but the work lives on in the people, myself included whom she inspired. We will carry on designing outside the box of 90 degrees.
