Doris Duke's house can not be compared to any other house other than the Taj Mahal or a monument such as that! Go visit Shangri La is unique and incomparable!
In the mid 80's I used to make some pasta dishes for Duke and Imelda Marcos at Sergio's on Nohonani in Waikiki, just a casual lunch.The security guard always ordered the veal chop with a cognac and mushroom cream sauce. Just a distant memory now.

It would be tough for me to give it up, but....Id do it.
Fur Ball could end up homeless though if you can’t pay the expenses. Cost of living is very expensive in Oahu. I believe it’s even higher than New York or San Francisco. A lot of the goods are imported which is why it is expensive. Waikiki beach is full of homeless people. Still, it is a beautiful island.
