I've been enjoying all the fun riffs on it that have been making it around social media lately, and I'm nowhere near that fun, so I decided to play it completely straight with mine. I sweetened the pips themselves a little but that's all. czcams.com/video/TDnqRGdoAho/video.html
I met Dave Lowe, who wrote the theme and asked him if he minded Bill taking the piss out of it. His reply ("nope, I get the PRS). Professional musicianship!
LOVE LOVE LOVE BBC News theme sound. Perfect opening to get up early in the morning, and start your day with BBC News! That's been pretty much my adult life.
Yo since I saw this live when it happened, every time I hear the bbc news intro I always picture a guy going nutty to the tune at a massive rave..just went to show my housemate because the news came on and I remembered the sketch and am so happy I found it..bill bailey the madman I should of known! ..I couldn’t remember who it was but when I saw this...I knew it was what I was looking for. Thank you so much lol
Bill Bailey is in my top 3 musicians and comedians. I'd enjoy hanging out, for sure. He's way more learned in the audio gadgetry (or knows people that are) than I am. I remember i found Bailey trying to find a trance album i heard in a Fry's electronics store, which was called tinseltown or something. Whatever the search i did, one of the top results was Tinselworm. My favorite bit is Jean Michelle Jarre is a Fraud. That's peak humor. The one i show everyone else is the french siren song. He's always been great on QI, on BBC. Just a great person! top 3: Les Claypool bigdamnband here on youtube Bill Bailey For comedy: Eddie Izzard Bill Bailey George Carlin revive the video! I'm backing it up, this is amazing production quality are you kidding me
Alan Rowley won’t lie the crowd wernt ready for that level of jokes...he turned the seriousness of the imminent global news report build up theme tune into so much more...Mr Rowley, his reward is the likes of me.., how many years later and he has the likes of me that remember this and find it to show people..I hear your “effort for no reward” and kinda agree but that fact I’m here with nothing but gratitude and appreciation for how bloody funny that was...I am his reward ;)
You've gotta love a country where you can dance to the news theme music
BBC News opening music is like the start of a awesome rave party!
...one in a dystonian future!
@@ThatCoalSoul that time has come
Unless it's this one
Pity it leads into propaganda rubbish

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this theme is EPIC !!!
😂 good to know !
They've been using it for 21 years. There's adults out there who remember this same music as babies.
Thought the same, EPIC!!
It reminds me of early 2000s/90s Bollywood hits
It's my ringtone
I met Dave Lowe, who wrote the theme and asked him if he minded Bill taking the piss out of it. His reply ("nope, I get the PRS). Professional musicianship!
If there ever was an "end credits" to the BBC as a whole (like the end of their era) this should be their final broadcast
Chills
With any luck, that'll be soon.
@@XKaiminalX very true
Why mate :)) ?
@@XKaiminalX yeah
The whole vibe of this, being in the evening and misty with that minor mystery key, is beautiful.
tough crowd
We got the #BestFans here
Sadly that's the British folks for ya. Dw I'm British Asian myself but I'd be more enthusiastic about it 😅
The BBC is hardly revered in Scotland.
British crowds suck
You ain't gonna get a Scottish crowd bouncin to a beat celebrating the BBC.
Just the energy of this bloke makes me very happy 😊.
And now! The weather!!
LittleMissRuthy hahahahahahaha
Cue foamparty.
I see what you did there

So wanted him to say that at the end.
Don't know why, I always found this bit hilarious.
Bill Bailey is awesome.
The one person jumping at 1:40 got me dead 😂
He passed the vibe check
This! Is the BBC!!!!

Big fish, Michael Fish, cardboard box.
Just need to put Bill and the BBC weatherman "lockdown" drummer together on stage now for an even more epic version of the tune......
music is an amazing thing.
World number one theme
Masterpiece
Such a legend this guy. What a masterpiece
That woman up the back dancing was the only person in this crowd who didn't suck.
This song is the most wildest thing for a news theme LMAOOO
Sweet memories of when the BBC served all of us.
The theme is called "Pulse of the world" pretty apt

Woke up this morning first thing I thought about was this and needed to watch it! Soo good!!!
Excellent music playing great job
Bill bailey was the original news theme remixer! None of this teen on tic tok during lockdown nonsense!
No.1 News music
should be used as the countdown for the next millennia in 2099
that would be 2,999,
or more accurately, 3,000. into the next millenium 3,001
My bad next 100 years I meant 🙄
I believe the word you're looking for is 'Century'
Sad I won't be around to see it :(
BBC the true way ...
Little did some of them knew it was actually the BBC News theme song
Matt Sugui 👀 find myself comment from 4 YEARS ago we knew !!
I'd say pretty much all of them knew it.
WONDERFUL
They should totally have this version at the BBC News with dua Lipa! 😂😂😂😂😂
0:46 imagine those 3 at a rave
Lovely!
I love this!!!!!
Tie this in with Tyres from Spaced and that's your night #sorted
This is British culture !
I love it 😍
Brilliant humans
Superb
This really needs to become a full production madchester style track maybe with some acid basslines Paris Angels - Perfume (Loved Up) style.
Something like this? czcams.com/video/_h-jUCyACl4/video.html
Very nice.
I have noticed that many news channels in the Middle East copied the countdown part music of the BBC.
TISS brought me here
You'r watching the BBC News and this is London...
beep beep Beep Beep BEEP BEEP *BEEP BEEP **_BEEP BEEP_*
I feel the beep is lacking in this version.
This some Doctor Who stuff
Bit of an anticlimax there Bill!
t genius!!
It must be a great time :)
*And now the weather*
*ITS GONE RAIN*
*Thanks olley*
I like it🕒
1:40 Where Love Lives
Short, but, sweet.
Cool

The version's not long enough - like it!
Nice music
That girl at the end, so funny 😂 👏👏👏👍

That looked like a lot of effort for no reward whatsoever.

Bill Bailey: is playing the piano
600k people: İnteresting
Is it always that foggy there? Cool setting for a performance
In Britain? Yes.
0:36 BBC 100 Countdown
That's the only place in Scotland people would positively cheery anything to do with the bbc xD.
Where's the original live at the apollo version?
Too short
He can actually play!!!
Is that a slightly greying David Cameron head bobbing at 0:47 ? ?
The piano bit sounds like Extreme Ways by Moby.
Newsflash - Hum I SAID! Ye big jessi.
ALPHABETICAL TEXT
AUDIENCE
Fucking A!
It reminds me of early 2000s/90s Bollywood hits
1:39, dropped her pills too early that night
Only one person in the crowd dancing around
مادري ليش تذكرت بدر فاطم أول ماشفته
*probably the deadest crowd ever*
Who’s here when bill won strictly ... only me then
Once this castle stood majestically defending the motherland now ....
Funky sounding.
Why don't the crowd liven up a bit?
Do lillibullero!
