On Day 32 my wife and I started the day off by going to Russ & Daughters, which is another legendary restaurants in NYC for salmon bagels. I then had what could be the best tacos in NYC at Los Tacos No.1.
00:25 Russ & Daughters - When I asked where to eat in NYC, one of the top recommendations along with Katz’s deli was Russ & Daughters, which is a legendary deli in NYC that specializes in cured and smoked salmon with bagels and cream cheese. Russ & Daughters is nearly always packed, and when I went we had to take a number and then wait in line for about 15 minutes to get our order. Although it’s quite touristy in NYC, it still remains a classic and a food lover's place in the city. I ordered the Russ & Daughters classic sandwich that included Scottish smoked salmon, caviar cream cheese, onions, and tomatoes. I kind of regret not order the belly lox on a bagel as well, but Russ & Daughters is pretty expensive. Although the bagel and salmon was small and expensive for what it was, it was amazingly good.
7:15 Los Tacos No.1 at Chelsea Market - After an NYC classic salmon bagel, we headed over to Chelsea Market. I wasn’t too interested in much else at the market except for Los Tacos No.1 as I was ready for some proper tacos. Just from the looks of the place, the aroma of the meats and the salsas, and from the line, I knew if was going to be good. I decided to go with all tacos and I ordered adobada, pollo asado, nopal and carne asada. All the tacos were freshly prepared and assembled before being served and I added on some more salsas before grabbing them to takeaway. All the tacos were good, but by far the best tacos in my opinion at Los Tacos No.1 is the adobada. I could have eaten another couple plates of tacos de adobada, they were so good. Total price - $14
14:7 High Line - After those amazing tacos at Los Tacos No.1, we then took a walk over to the High Line, an park in New York City that has turned into a top tourist attraction and built on an old railroad track. It’s pretty cool and well worth visiting when you’re in NYC.
16:20 Cho Dang Gol - Finally for dinner, I honestly didn’t really have any plans and we didn’t want to go far from out hotel, so we went to a Korean restaurant called Cho Dang Gol. They specialize in sundubu jjigae, soft tofu soup, and one of my personal favorite Korean dishes. Unfortunately it was ok at best, a little plain tasting for me. Total price - $55.
Another good day of food in New York City. The salmon cream cheese bagel at Russ & Daughters was good, but the food highlight of the day for me was tacos at Los Tacos No.1.

Smoked salmon from Russ and Daughters is HEAVENLY. Probably my favorite food in the city. Sadly I can't afford it but more than once in awhile.
Just found this channel but this dude looks extremely happy to be traveling the world to eat food...maybe I should reconsider my career path
If you join the New York Knicks you can eat different foods from all over the world In nyc
These comments though
@Bengali Warrior thats racism
Did KAT actually watch this video
Bengali Warrior hosh you are disgusting ?? Who hurt you that you are this sad and bitter ???
Hello to everyone! I have been following Mark and Ying for a long time and would love to help. Mark and Ying do not eat like this everyday, and they walk.....Sometimes Ying eats before Mark starts the blog. She is shy and does not want to have people watch her eat. Enjoy the time she is on the blog, because she would rather film than be seen. He always makes sure she gets what she wants to eat. They are a good husband and wife and share everything. I hope this answers some of your questions.
Donna Copas very well said and very true
well said. Thank you.
Plus, in addition to that, most Asian women I know do not like to be filmed while eating. Some of my Asian female friends are really careful with the choice of food while they are eating in public. They prefer to look feminine even when they are eating.
Donna Copas well said..it answers all my questions
Maria Bardo i think it relates to all female not jst Asian!!
Those tacos looked insanely good...
He just love foods, don't be discouraged. I'm always looking forward to his next episode. Kudos Mark!!! Please show more of you and Ying on tours together. She's adorable, I'm pretty sure many agree. 😊
Mark, I have been watching your videos since the Sri Lanka eating with your hands video (5 years ago). Thank you very much for making these lovely videos and thank you for your passion. Keep up the great work :)
"All the days of the afflicted are bad; but he that is of a cheerful heart has a continual feast."
Proverbs 15:15 - that's you Mark! Thanks for your blogs
Ernest Ayathuray Is he Christian ?
Hello.
Adriana Fragoza yes he is.
"I think I'll get one...of all the tacos they have" 😂 Excellent choice Mark!
I really enjoyed your New York City vlogs. Bringing back some great memories. Thanks Mark-Ying-Micah.
I loved Los Tacos No 1 when I was in NYC, glad to see it's still top notch!
Love watching Mark as he is an “up”person and always smiling.
$13.88 for a lox 'n bagel! holly jeez... that's criminal.
no thats new york, middle class people love to over pay for bullshit to feel rich and posh
they also love to wait in lines, people are fucktarded
also, that korean dinner for two for $55?? that's steep, even in korea town in LA that would be about $35.
You can't recreate this sandwich because you are not using NYC bagels. They are on another level. Frozen bagels you get in grocery stores cannot compare.
And the quality of their salmon is well known.
Thanks for showing me Russ & Daughters. I've lived in NYC since 2012 and there are still tons of new places to discover. I'm so glad you went to Cho Dang Gol. I love their savory potato pancakes. Bonus points for visiting Chelsea Market on a Saturday! FYI-- your joint video with Hot Thai Kitchen was my introduction to you & your channel.
"Tacos are the best things in the world", never has a fact more true been spoken.
Sometimes I feel like I can't wait to leave NYC (getting tired of the cold weather) but when I see the mixture of different nationalities and customs (and foods 😋 ) I feel totally proud to be a part of it. It really is something special to experience so much diversity.
NAJ2476 I don't know about all that
There's nothing like NYC diversity. I grew up there, I've found no substitutes.
@@thedriza297 You dont have to know. She is talking about how SHE feels.
@nma2476 nice rack tho
Love seeing Marks excitement when he orders his food!!! Then even better when he eats!!! 😄
keep up the great smiles, wonderful people and awesome foods
I cannot wait until you post a new vid. I have watched your travels from Jakarta, Manila, Lisbon to NYC. Thank you!!!
Good morning, another great video as always Mark. Thanks for the upload, it looks delicious.
Lovely video Mark. That Taco looked beautiful & keep up the great work and keep growing.
Superb Marc, looked delicious. one day at work this week I didn't have time to go out for lunch and look to see why I had in the fridge I had bread cream cheese and beetroot. and that's what I made a sandwich with bread cream cheese and beetroot. Never had it before but I may have it again. I've just been to my local supermarket and bought some Scottish smoked salmon to replicate the bagele you just ate. Thank you .
I am so happy to Hear you miss Mexican food greetings from México City
Mark your videos always make me sit down and enjoy
My food and have such an appreciate for the blessing of being able to sit down and eat the food that I love.
Thank you for your videos !
Well you hit on one of my favorite dishes..... Lox and bagels, oh that looked awesome. Happy travels Mark and Ying.
Oh, gosh, I am so hungry now! That bagel looked amazing.
People keep commenting "Where's Ying's food?" and things like that as though she is dragged around to film and then starved to death. Like every SECOND of their lives is caught on video, and with no editing. LMAO!
Good heavens!
Guess ppl like to see Ying get some :"T
heartbreakmanNo1 As far as I know, this is Mark's vlog. Ying seems shy, as far as what I see so leave it be. They are married and if they decide Ying to be in so be it, otherwise it is Mark's as far as I'm concerned.
I do love those snippets of Ying, but she always strikes me as shy and happy to do what she does.
Just my observation obviously as I don't know them.
Thank you Theresa, exactly right!
Mark Wiens Very welcome, Mark!
And Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Happy Holidays to you as well!
I get so excited Wednesdays & Sunday mornings becuase I know you have a new video for us - it's like waking up Christmas morning! :) You never disappoint - absolutely wonderful videos. Hope Ying did get some good shopping in before y'all left NYC.
Hello Mark, I have watched all of your videos. Your doing amazing job. Thank you for sharing ur experience with us. Cheers✌
The best facial reactions to food man has seen. Such joy haha
oh my everything looks amazing!!! Enjoy your day Mark & Ying & Micah❤
love you video, Mark. Travel & food, my absolute favourite ☺
Booty Boo Micah was in yings stomach when this was filmed
It all looked sublimely delicious! I loathe chilli, but even the chillis didn't put me off! Loving the series of videos you have created around this trip.
Thank you for pointing out the price. It actually makes the item more special and can be enjoyed as a treat.
Hello Mark awesome video those tacos looked amazing yummy !!!
Living life to the max. Respect!!
I'm from Phx, AZ myself and this vlog makes me crave good Mexican food. I live in Berlin, Germany now and luckily found a place which makes SF Mission style burritos since the owner is from SF. Good Mexican restaurants are hard to come by here in Berlin. But I miss good old fashion street tacos. Thanks for posting.
Just watching the expression on your face as you take a bite speaks volumes. I am drooling. You do a marvelous job in your reviews. My fave!
The reason the NYC things are so expensive, besides the fact that NYC is just a very expensive place, is because he is choosing the very best version of those things. He went to the highest rated pizzeria in the country (probably), the highest rated Jewish deli, got the highest rated smoked salmon (although Russ's bagels aren't rated very high)... He is having the Ferrari of foods. NYC has tons and tons of cheap and delicious food but he is aiming for the most famous highest rated stuff.
Benny B good point and that 13 dollar sandwish is way out of most ppl even in the west!!
hes nto having the ferrari of foods, hes having the 4 door mazarati of foods aka HIGHLY OVERRATED BUT PRICED AS LUXURY
u dont know nothing bout nyc
Why would he come all the way to NYC not to east the best.
Yeah, but I can get some of the "very best" bread or pastry in Paris for what is still a reasonable price. Honestly, and NYC people constantly make lame excuses for overpriced stuff in their city, a lot of things in NYC are just way overpriced and, quite often too, lacking in quality. Outrageously greedy brokers and landlords don't help the situation, driving up prices for independent businesses.
Those tacos! 😍. Awesome video as always! 👍
Your face is always happy
And makes other happy too ! Just watching u
Thx mark !
This is the happiest dude Ive ever seen. Traveling and good food has that affect
NYC has some of the best food in the world. Chicago is right there as well imho.
@@patkaczmarek7362 of course! Grew up in jersey. The armpit has the best. Chicago has that slammin Italian beef sammich and Chicago dogs we love ever so much
Love the videos and channel.. but my question.. has something ever tasted so good you fell to the left? I notice you always fall to the right lol
LOL! xD
Calis708 if he fall to left, the world end is near
Calis708 hahahahahahaha
Was going to write the same.Lol...He closes his eyes and falls to his right. I think there's hardly anything Mark does not like or too polite to say so. :D
I think most food critics have their own unique signature move
The adobada there is magical. One of my favorite tacos ever.
Mark, i cant help but notice that you are really very sincere looking in all your video. No fakeness that i can sense. I love to see you eat! Lol
Mark I just want to say I normally have problems with appetite but I watch your videos and see you enjoy so many foods that I feel I can get through even one more meal :) thank you
Good video! I know you miss Arizona and all the taco truck establishments. I'm down in Tucson. Love it😂
By mentioning the pricing it helps so many people 2 budget their eating. 👌
thank you for yet another fantastic video. love it and love little Micah! congrats again!!
Hiii
Loved it. Delicious lox, bagels and tacos.
It's Sunday folks...and Mark has just made your day that extra special. Am I wrong? Click the thumbs up and you'll see that I'm right, Right, let's see what happens when you get a juicy salmon sandwich on your screen :)
MERRY CHRISTMAS from Cambodia
Biking Phnom Penh merry Christmas from Texas

Ditto! Off to Vietnam next with Mark's ''23 Things to do in Saigon.'' Check my videos on Biking Phnom Penh! Great place for biking :)
Ditto! Make sure you attack a salmon sandwich for Xmas. I'll be volunteering on my favourite NGO with 300 kids :)

The salmon bagel is making my mouth water!
Tacos are just too damn good, the variety in the filling along with the mouthwatering sauces, they really are a marvelous culinary creation.
All your videos are very useful and informative. I like the way you are so detailed oriented. You even converted all the rates in dollar which was very useful. Your great effort shows. Thanks
I wish we could also see Ying's face when she tries the new foods 😂
Smoked salmon with bagels is called bagels and lox
Autumn Absinthe You're mistaken because gravLAX and Lox are different. GravLAX is just brined while Nova LOX is brined and cold smoked. LOX is used with bagels for over 50 years in NYC. Lox is very popular.
EH CBunny technically lox and smoked salmon are different. Lox is salt cured or brined smoked salmon is smoked. In NY, people call both things "lox." We ALL day "bagels and lox." But 90% of the time people are eating smoked salmon and not lox. Lox is very salty. Please google the difference between lox and smoked salmon if you don't believe me ;)
Benny B Dude, I was born in NYC and I've eaten all three, BUT LOX which is brined and smoked beats all.
really? you dont say! Did you also know that if you mix macaroni and grated cheese , its called macaroni and cheese?.....
Lox is different from Nova
Bagel bliss at 3:39
I have such great memories of late nite bagels in my NY hotel room overlooking the Hudson River.
I love watching you mark! Best wishes to you and your family!!
i cant stop but notice those sauces dripping at the back of tacos.. aaaaaahhhh..
He commented on how they wrapped the back ends with little cones too, which I thought was really great (never seen that before myself), but then he didn't use them, which was disappointing (probably either enjoying it more that way, or thinking that it helped show the taco better on camera).
the salmon tiny sandwtch is too expensive but certainly delicious , so enjoyable to watch your videos , can't wait the next one ! keep up the work , you and ying are awesome :D
+Mark Weins I love all of those tacos but I tried cactus this year at a small mom and pop restaurant called Los Pollo Asados Sinaloense here in Atlanta and I Fell In Love with it. As soon as I saw it in your taco my mouth watered!
I feel like I can actually taste the foods by just watching you eat each bite, Mark!
New York the best. 👍🙏✌️🌞😎🍻
Do you travel the world trying different foods? My dream!!
Divine Munchies my dream too 😂

Check out our Channel for EPIC Random Recipes! 🍔
It's almost 3:30 in the morning and just happened to wake up and my notification went on... Thanks for the video and hungry for tacos and no salmon in the fridge, only bagel and cream cheese.... good enough.
Mark, I was so jealous of you and those tacos! Those were so well put together and fresh!
The last bite is always a sad bite. 🙁
His expressions are priceless ☺️
The Russ & Daughters is a Jewish Delicatessen and the proper way of saying salmon and a bagel is a bagel and lox’s ☺️ Just for future reference.
Would you marry me so you can always pronounce it the correct way when we go and get one.
*I agree with Noseefood you should have returned to Flushing Queens to Korea town or my last suggestion Coney Island Brooklyn those dishes could have been purchased much cheaper and with plenty to do, I remember the rail yards on the old west side highway and have modernized for the best since I was a kid, triple thumbs up Mark & Ying!*
Hello Mark Wiens! I would love to see Ying do a video on how it's like to travel around the world trying new food with you her lovely husband and know if she has any preferences on different types of food. thanks for your time!!
i want to see ying reviewing food for once :P
may be she doesn't want to ???
She doesn't speak fluent English maybe
I think you're in the wrong place then. Channel name says "Mark Wiens." :p Sure, Ying is nice and helps out a lot, but this isn't her thing so much, at least not as a reviewer on this channel. You can tell by her expressions, if you've been paying attention.
go check out her channel. She reviews KFC. She's not into food
Thank you for bringing the edible world to us. Hope you get to sample the differences of Mexican restaurants in TX, NM, AZ and CA while you are here. They are all delicious but different from each other.
Mark Weins is absolutely awesome i love this channel
you are the best mark when it comes with food review
holy shit, almost 14$ for that one classic bagel sandwhich and 14$ dollar for all the tacos. Damn I think I'm gonna stick to mexican food when I'm in New York.
Ripoffs are everywhere, in any shape, so yeah don't let your guards down lol.
good luck with the shits
You can get great bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwiches for like $3. Mark went to too many hyped up joints and tourist traps in NYC Normally, a smoked salmon one will set you back around $7
If you want really good cheap food, try the Jamaican places
Actually, you can get it for way cheaper in NYC, which of course is super abundant with deli's, pizzeria's, bagel shops, cafe's, etc. I've lived in the city my whole life and I would never pay that much for it. The one's I've been at charge no more than $5 for a bagel sandwich, heck, $7 at max. For example, that $31 pizza? Pizza pies cost $8 by my place in NYC. All these places are tourist traps in high-tourism locations and they know that most tourist's don't know better, so they charge more.
You should visit Bulgaria it is so beautiful and you should try Bulgarian food it is amazing!
Life before corona was crazy lol love your videos man when I went to San Diego tried almost everywhere you did next mission is you last Florida videos I eat through your joy!
love the way you explain the dish great work
Next time try Absolute Bagels on the Upper West Side, absolutely the best bagels.
nice one mark, even i started uploading small videos taking u as my inspiration
I love seeing your travels all around the world it’s so interesting and you are showing us that stuff that nobody else would be able to showers or in a more entertaining way but they are from New York so watching you enjoy New York is just hitting in a different way I’m six years late but I’m so glad that you had this experience in New York and I hope you make it back please go to Ess-A-Bagel next time because they are the best of the best of the best happy holidays happy new year
Yay, you went to Russ and Daughters! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
You ate like a true "New Yawker!" Love those tacos!
That's one expensive sandwich
Mandragara Hell yea! 14 bucks for a bagel? Holy crap!
Welcome to NYC! :)
It's too bad there are no salmons in the rivers around NYC to catch. Down on the LES where he was there is a bagel shop he could have got a dozen bagels for less than what he paid then make his own salmon sandwiches with his catch. An maybe pick an onion up on that old elevated train tracks that now grows flowers and maybe vegetables. Going cheap in NYC!
*Depending on if you go to/find an Authentic Sushi place you can get order very fresh sushi flown in from Japan. But those restaurants are mega expensive. But yeah Welcome to NYC LOL*
Because the entrees are meant to be shared family style.
Awesome video... you made my Sunday Mark!
Russ and Daughters is truly a must go-to in NYC. Not cheap, but so classic, so great, and worth it sitting at the basketball court. Some of those people have worked there for decades. Best New York bagels with fish ever, made with great care. My first stop every time - that is my neighbourhood. Miss it!!! I also get the white fish spread to go, with a couple more bagels. That is so addictive. Oh man, I miss NYC so much. The Jewish knish spot just North a couple blocks with the original yogurt drink cultivated for years - you must get that. Also the Turkish kebab wrap late at night after the music sitting on a stoop. Love.
There was so much juice coming from the cactus taco lol
Shakelllyy i was going to write the same! it looks like it would never stopping coming out lol
neeliaj pom I agree ❤️😂
That was slime lol. Nopales are very slimy just like okra. It's an acquired taste but I like it.
Ebony Arnold hello from a fellow Gardenaholocs Anonymous :)
Hello!!! What are you planning on growing for the New Year? :D
Hey Mark that bagel looked awesome, when are you coming to D.C.?
Ahh, this is the life watching this awesome video and injoying some awesome takeout!!!
Going to NY next month and both of these places are on my list, can't wait!
Literally die of waiting for his videos🤥😭.
Jenny P batteries dead?
I hate how food vloggers just stare into your soul when they're eating. oh god
Jellesn I was scrolling through the comments, thinking if I'm the only one that notices that. I hate it. The staring, the talking with food in your mouth and the fking crazy eyes.
you are the reason that my Sundays are good. keep it up!
Let's do this!! Thanks mark and ying!!
Tacos over salmon bagel, pizza, and pastrami sandwich all day long
Good vlog for today, going to the real places New Yorkers go. Unfortunately New York now has so many chain restaurants in the center if toen, but next time go to 9th Avenue. They have great restaurants there.
Another great video, Mark. Thank you! :)
Hi Mark, I remember having tacos there in 2013. They were awesome back then and I think your video just brought the taste back into my mouth, haha!
Ying is such a trooper! She's pregnant in this video and yet she's walking around everywhere with you!!
cynthia yeah it sucks when you have to go earn a living. gotta keep content to bill the vid.
one day he'll lean out of the frame lol
