Full View Pool Aka Butlin's Swimming Pool At Bognor (1961)

Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
M/S of a father taking his very young daughter to the edge of a swimming pool at the Butlin's Holiday Camp. Panning shot follows the father and mother leading their young daughters to the edge of the pool. High angle shot of the two little girls in rubber rings entering the water and waving to their parents. M/S of the parents waving goodbye, pan to the children playing in the pool. M/S of children splashing about in the water. M/S, looking through a glass panel in the side of the pool, of the children's legs kicking about in the water - "children in a pool like this have to be watched at all times. However, at this holiday camp at Bognor they've eased the problem by not only having a glass sides but a glass bottom too".
M/S of the parents taking a seat in a cafeteria situated beneath the pool - there are glass panels in the roof of the cafe through which swimmers can be seen. C/U of the mother looking upwards. C/U, looking upwards through a glass panel, of a little girl swimming in a rubber ring. C/U of the father looking upwards. M/S of a waiter bringing the parents drinks and setting them down on the low table in front of them - "one needs to be a parent to appreciate the sheer luxury of being able to sit down in a restaurant without junior bouncing up and down on your knee". M/S, looking upwards, of a boy swimming underwater over one of the glass panels. M/S of the couple looking upwards, panning shot follows their gaze to one of the glass ceiling panels - "at this rate there'll soon be close-circuit TV so that parents can even go off to the pictures without losing sight of their youngsters"!
