- Here is a video with all the Soviet missions of Red Alert 2 demonstrating a few stuff that you might not know and a few stuff that you might not have noticed.
I tried not to include every detail and keep only the most unknown stuff to make the video less boring and more interesting.
Hope there was something that you didn't know already!

>leave a few terror drones where they start
bruh implying i didn't already build my entire base there
Why build a base when you can just stand by an engineer right where they deploy to steal their base? ;]
Jabba Jane True i did that all day
@@jabbajane1124 ma god
@@jabbajane1124 I failed miserably with that, lol.
well that mission came with a countdown timer, it have enough time for you to build multiple terror drones, I like it better to deploy on their mcv's designated location and start building
Man, the old school 2.5D C&C games had such love and detail put into their maps. This was a really cool video, the Allied one too, some of the secrets I didn't even notice. Can't wait to see you do these videos for Yuri's Revenge.
Yep, would love to see that
@@oliverstaunton3905 yeah me too
Red Alert 1 & 2 (and their expansions) were memorable, fun, and very interesting. Red Alert 3 feels restrictive with its level design, mission/objective layout, forced "co-op ready" AI commander (that more often than not screws up the flow and planning of battles), and its poor implementation of Secondary Abilities.
I wouldn't mind seeing Red Alert 2 recreated from the ground up as a full 3D game (à la Generals, Tiberium Wars, Red Alert 3), with remastered videos, larger maps, secondary objectives, bonuses that carry over between levels, maybe adding a side mission or two to each faction in Yuri's Revenge (which is quite short). Heck, hire Udo Kier and add Yuri's faction to the campaign (dude is 76, BTW, so better hurry up).
These games were simple to make and they can put their love and effort instead of trying to develop the game and engine at the same time.
Imagine that the first Starcraft had much more campaign on a single game, while Blizzard took years and 3 separate game purchases to complete the whole story. Then again, standards are higher today and you can't get away in releasing a 2.5D RTS nowadays.
but did you notice soviet battle advisor has perky balloons?
Probably widely know but the civilian bus in Big Apple could be used as a covert APC for your troops.
I did that - mainly Tesla troopers and a few engineers.
Only have to V3 a few Pillboxes and a garrison first.
I know it’s stupid to do this, especially when doing this will inevitably lead to you failing the mission, but load a bus up with engies, then drive them near the Battle Lab and have them rush it.
You want a good laugh? Show the trick to someone that hasn’t completed the mission, then watch as they flip out when they realize that they now have to defend the Psychic Beacon.
That just spawned where the Battle Lab was.
Inside of the otherwise completely intact Allied base.
And the AI is going to rush the Beacon with Grizzlies and IFVs in no time flat.
@@lordhood117 just have a pillbox and barracs ready to build, put some soldiers In the twin towers and thats all, defense is not hard, you will get some reinforments
At mission 1 : Use Paradrop in the edge-right-bottom side, you'll found an unknown tiny island with some unknown message that contain a few numbers, it must be some coordinate or date
That will be induced in the Easter Eggss video along with similar stuff!
same thing in the moscow mission near the tech airfield
@@tsiripas nice. Looking forward to it
Thank you for actually showing the end. I almost lose my shit when kirov is down
I am curious to learn how many actually missed the very end!
mmm why am i not surprise if it where mental omega i would just enjoy the fireworks then
In Hostile shore, Destroying Refineries will also grant your crates
In Sub-Divide, You can load everything and establish a base on an island on the far left (After fighting some coast guards). The Timer will start as soon as you unpack your MCV so there's no rush. The island is easier to defend and enemy will be confused.
Really?? Bruh I even don't think about that... time to rUsH B
what mission?
in hostile shore if you destroy refineries you don't get crates, you need to capture them
Regarding mission 3: I used the psychic corps to capture 4 neutral school buses to infiltrate the Allied base and capture at least their barracks and clear the forces near their tech centre. Saved on buying a whole lot of tanks.
Speaking of 3rd mission - In vanilla RA2 version when you destroyed Twin Towers then you received crates. However they changed that in patch after 9/11. Now garrizoning troops give you crates as you shown in this video.
@@TheWatchernator they probably passed it off as raiding the offices.
For extra irony, I capped an Allied Barracks and garrisoned one Twin with GI.
Addendum tip for Mission 5. There's also a Flak Trak to the West of the map.
In Polar Storm, there'r are Kirovs to the North with I believe a Tech Air Building.
About polar storm, it's just right in your way. Plus, zofia also informs you about the Kirovs. My point was to show a bit more hidden stuff.
@@tsiripas
Oh. I wasn't aware that Zofia informs you during the mission. My bad.
IT IS YEAR 2019. AND THIS GAMEPLAY STILL SHOOTS ME AT POINT BLANK RANGE IN THE FUCKING FACE WITH NOSTALGIA.

MrPallanza thanks a lot :)
how did i not notice 2:28 those two big skyscraper are THE WTC. gosh, lots of things that i missed in this game when i last played it 10 years ago
There's a secret tip from mission 9. If you destroy the Alamo, civilians will try to retaliate your forces
Interesting! Although I would not add that anyway.
I think, they attack you anyway.
Once I mind control an unarmed civilian (a woman in yellow dress).
If you commanded her walking into the main base area, the Allies would move most of their forces to hunt your forces down.
@@andybreadley429 that is true, however they only attack when stationary. I've tried this alot of times when playing the game, we dont realize that the Alamo is a target to us, but its only optional for you to slaughter the civilians if they strike back.
They attack you anyway.
Probably well known for everyone but, in mission 8 destroying the psychic beacon will make the GIs rebel against the enemy.
Is I'm not mistaken miss Zofia will inform us about that during the mission
You forgot the camp/base at the bottom right corner of Chrono Defence.
Garrisoning the tents will contentiously grant money.
Not continuously. It's just the sound FX that loops.
The money crate spawns only once.
1:55 I never noticed that the ape changed moved their hands when the fast food restaurant was in critical XD
Also, there's a shortcut for mission 11. If you order your starting Kirovs to go to the far left and then move up, they'll be reach Yuri's stronghood and destroy it without you even needing to establish a proper base :)
Will you do Yuri's Revenge's missions next? ^_^
Yes YR will come soon.
Assuming the Kirov can live long enough past flak that is.
@@estellebright2579 They can. I already did that once and it worked. There's not many air defences on the left side.
He didnt Include alot of speedrun routes on purpose.
@@GHOST22x02 Yes, I know. I just thought I could mention it ^_^
Funny thing about Sub-Divide is that it suffers the same funky victory condition shenanigans as Deep Sea(they even take place in the same in-universe locations). The Victory Condition is that all enemy Naval Units are destroyed. So you can in practice, just tech up to Submarines, and just smack the enemy with them before the Korean fleet increases the amount of units to kill.
You should show the difference between units when they get the various crate upgrades in next video
This needs edits though and will take time.
@@tsiripas You videos are always worth it!
@@combat.wombat Thanks!
first mission if you destroy the ships at the port/docks after promoting conscripts you can manage to get out with 3-4 Elite conscripts to finish the mission with more ease,
second mission you can use busses to transfer troops, I usually send 5 engineers and take the entire allied base XD
Well or you could send you mcv straight to allied base, deploy behind the left twin tower, sell it and use your conscipt in left tower, use engineer capture the allied teach center u will instantly win after few min

Hey man, fun fact level one in soviets on the right of the map, destroying the cruise ships also gives you a crate.
Too bad I didn't include it.
I remember when I was still a kid and getting excited whenever I find those trucks. Such a fun hunt, it was
2:13 One way trip! (I was surprised at first, but then bethinked about civillian model)
In the last mission Polar storm you can find 3 Kirov Airships near the Airfield on the top of the island from the allies
Well nothing unknown there. It's just right in your way. Plus, zofia also informs you about the Kirovs. My point was to show a bit more hidden stuff.
@@tsiripas I never knew about those kirovs the first time I played, I just build 30 kirovs and went straight for the chronosphere
I remember using Kirovs in Red Revolution to continuously bomb the ground on the path Yuri's troops take to attack your base. Made it much easier to defend it. No idea if it works on the higher difficulties though.
I like the fact that you get rewards when you capture/garrison the Twin Towers instead of destroying them.
My best tip which wasn't mentioned here was for mission 3, Big apple. There are a number of school busses parked below 1 of the overpass roads and with your Yuri units, if you capture a school bus with each Yuri, (I can't remember how many you get) you can fill each with 5 infantry and drive them straight to the towers/battle lab without being destroyed. If you fill 1 with engineers, some with conscripts (to then garrison the towers) and then use whatever other infantry you have available at the time. and leave them there while you build up armoured units and other things. Once you're ready, let them out to do their thing and your engineers can capture pretty much every building in the area.
Whats funny with those older RTS games is that the map is huge compared to a more modern RTS I mean C&C3 maps are tiny if you compare them. Sure Sup Com have maps that are big enough
I love the intro.
I love premier romanov and I love yuri for shutting him up.
Soviet Mission 11 I have 2 tips to easy to play : 1) 2 ways on your base have oil pumb and repairer ,use engineer capture that 2 things you can defend your base like a fortress ,that's helpful. 2) use nuclear missile to boom the objective and don't forget defend with your airshoots so much can break kerobe quickly. Soviet Mission 12 I have tip to play : capture enermy land after you defead ailed ships ,that's helpful and I recommend to use yuri to much.
I use 1 hour to finish 1 mission without any cheat in hard mode , I use that tips.
Hi. If you destroy ships near 4 & 5 trucks, your forces can get level up immediately.
6:21 I think you get a money crate as well if you destroy the memorial on that island
Yes, it's shown in the previous clip.
ah wups my brain did not engage
that was a slightly counter-intuitive way of arranging it though, since you've got to repair access to that are first before you can attack the building
In mission 3 (Big apple) you didn't notice one thing. Under the bridge are some school buses. If you mind control them, you can secretly and unnoticed transport 5 infantry in each... anywhere. Right to enemy base. Enemy will wont attack them, even if they unload infantry oh his sight.
Operation:The Fox and hound, capturing the allies barracks and infiltrating their battle lab gives you the ability to train chrono ivans. Which is weird since infiltrating allied lab + allied barracks should give you chrono commando instead.
I have a tip for Mission 12. Capture the Allied base at the coast instead of destroying it and build a Satellite Uplink. It makes life sooo much easier when you exactly see where their positions are.
Undoubtedly, some people are gonna tell me that they have been doing that the whole time but I thought I mention it for those who didn't think of it so far.
i like how in soviet campaign you need to destroy buildings to get crates and in allies you need to do the opposite, good none killed mummy
Another tip for mission 3: the school buses are transports, each holding 5 infantry units. And they are civilian vehicles that the allies will not shoot at. You can find a bunch of them about midway between your start and the twin towers.
Aww i was expecting more. Great stuff as always. I feel like u were tiered when you edited this.
Not really but there weren't as interesting stuff as in Allied missions.
Yah thats true i cant help but love both campaigns though
The opening and ending were too good. 😂
You forgot to mention that in Chrono Defense mission, you can also garrison tents on the right bottom corner of the map which give you crates with money.
Anyways I only surprisingly didn't know about 3:20 secret, the rest was well-known to me.
In the final mission you get a couple of Kirovs on the northeastern ore field next to the tech Airport. I suppose that’s a given since you’d naturally make your way up there if you didn’t Kirov rush the Chronosphere already
unless you do not want to let your units do auto-attack on 3 kirovs, but i prefer you use kirovs to let them join you
Zofia is the hottest. Zofia > Eva
who is eva
yea I think her voice hotter than tanya
Zofia >> everything
Very cool!
Keep em coming!
Red Revolution has a little easter egg with trees forming map designer's initials.
Polar Storm had something too - a neutral airport with some Kirovs? I don't remember exacrtly, but there was something in the northern half.
Red Revolution: That was added in the Easter Eggs video.
Polar Storm: That's quite well known to everyone!
0:39 WoT tips demonstrated: how to use invisible wall to block tank shells xD
1:58 There is a shortcut with discretly sending one rhino heavy tank to the full left side and going down to the US construction yard with oil tanks. They sell everything after it is destroyed.
Another tip for mission 3: when you capture a schoolbus you can transport units without being attacked:)
In hindsight it seems like they put a lot more effort into the allied campaign when it comes to easter eggs and secrets.
Nice video though! :)
I have an interesting things too.
In Chrono Defense if you don't destroy propaganda truck the civilians will be attacking our base too, and if you capture tech repair pad the few of flak troopers will be available.
In Red Revolution there's a few of crates on map
In Polar Storm in airfield in the north will be available 3 kirovs.
Mission 3... Oh well you see I destroyed the twin tower in my game. You still get the crates, just didn't know that by garrissoning you could get those crates too.
If you use mind control on the bus in the mission Big Apple, you can both use it as transportation and exploration
I loved discovering some of these hidden things before because I'm usually afraid to make the next few moves so I just explore everywhere else haha suddenly new unit pop out of nowhere like it's a bag of candies thank you very much haha
In the last Soviet mission, the rocks are indicators of chrono attacks.
Good catch!
Hmm.. where's the rock?
@@MoondropSimulacra rock on your island will be where enemy chronoshift to.
There is also a good secret catch when pushing towards the main island. This might have to do with the orefields, if I have to ask, the chrono reinforcements will respawn there continuously.
Lemme try that catch once more
with the Yuri mission, you don't *need* to keep your base; a couple kirovs can make it all the way up the left side and rain terror on the kremlin
7:31 More of an easter egg than anything else, in the southeast corner of the map, on the plateau with the airfield, is a visual easter egg in the form of trees spelling ACC; if a unit is placed nearby, a message will appear reading "TSC & ACC 11/21/98". An identical easter egg exists in Chrono Storm and Red Dawn, only without any nearby bonuses.
Those will be on a separate video.
@@tsiripas so... why don't you do it he say?
@@Danielfury_wolves it has been done
In the last mission in the north side of the map theres a 3 Kirov plus an airfield...
Well, that's well known to everyone.
Been waiting for this ever since the last one last one.
Dude all of your videos are awesome
in the first mission, it's useful to destroy civilian boats and ships to the right side of your starting base. They give significant experience to troops, conscripts get promotions but idk if it's enough to promote tanks
in mission 7, if you garrison the tents in the south east you'll also get crates
and in mission 9, wasn't there a paratrooper tech building somewhere?
@@TheLumberjack1987 i think the paradrop tech building is quite obvious
@@minh3264 okay fair enough^^
In mission five, there is another flak truck filled with nothing at the middle left, near where you receive a bunch of Tesla troopers. Ahh, I wish I could build that Eiffel Tower in skirmish. That’d me extremely cool. I also wish I could see the whole map in mission 10. It seems that it is a Shore that is inaccessible by sea.
I once defeated the Weather Control Device without nuking it - took a long time.
@@lindenmurgo9273 me too 😄 just for fun
Looking forward to seeing yuri's revenge
Holy shit a red alert 2 channel on 2020 NOW THATS QUALITY CONTENT
In the mission Big Apple, there is a hidden tesla reactor in the top, outside of the map. In the case, if you lose all your reactors, the psychic beacon still can work
That blooper tho, so satisfying.
I do love that you stillmake this videos, but, there is a thing to find in the last Soviet mission: in the north, there's an airfield with some Kirovs.
Yes it’s just that it’s right in your way, everyone knows about it!
@@tsiripas Oh my, my memories must be blurry, I recalled it needs a bit more flying around.
On the chroni defense mission, I thought the allied javy implied they would be attacking eith endless carriers snd destroyers, meaning I had to focus entirely on building a navy. When barely any ships came, but tanks started rolling up and they announced they established a base, I had literally no ground defneses built, no war factory, and no troops trained WHATSOEVER. I still managed to not die, but that was a rerrifying moment.
My favorite thing to do in the third mission is to park a mind-controlled vehicle in front of the ore refineries. This will block the Chrono Miners from making a deposit, causing the Allies to go bankrupt during this mission. I always found it amusing watching the Chrono Miners driving around all confused! XD
In mission 10 I have found an island with a yuri clone on it. You have to wait until the weather control device appears but you don't destroy it. so you continue to explore the map.
I didn't notice it until I was much older.
Yes, it's shown in the video.
@@tsiripas You did't do it cuz the word he say, such a shame
@@Danielfury_wolves what are you talking about ?
0:15 The first mission is so easy that sometimes I don't even use any troops, just the War Miner to clear the level. After it collects all the crates, it is a sturdy unit.
7:35 Maybe not a tip but more of a warning, but don't build a Spylink Satelite before discovering the north part of the larger landmass. There are neutral units that are supposed to come under the player's control once a unit is close enough, but if the player builds a Spylink Satelite before this, their discovery flag won't work and those units will stay neutral & hostile to the player.
In mission 11 if you go east from your base past the oil derricks you'll find a pattern made from trees forming letters. If you go there a message will appear. Also in mission 12 if you go to the top right corner of the map you'll find 3 kirovs you can use :)
edit: missed the ending XD
In the first mission you can destroy those boats that were near 2 trucks and they give insta lvl up btw
You never cease to amaze! How many more videos are you gonna bring up for this living legend?
Thank you! I still have a few quite unique in mind!
@@tsiripas Maaan, I wish you won't run out of ideas!
Both in the allied missions and the second last soviet one you forgot to mention that there's some easter eggs in some trees which form a message, and destroying the trees will say something in your chat, but good video anyways! Keep them coming!
Explosives Specialist Beltway those things will be added in the Easter eggs video!
Nice video dude .. this video is useful. Thanks a lot.
'Silence him Yuri!'
'Uuaaaghh'
I lol'd :')
in Big Apple mission you can also capture school buses to transport your troops without being attacked
Yes but it's not that useful as it was in the allied mission.
In the mission against Yuri, If you send the two kirovs on the west side upwards you can get them behind enemy lines and win without a sweat. And in the last one get an elite dreadnought, get it along the west side cliffs and let it rain fire. The splash damage can easily destroy the chronosphere. Without having to eyeball with a nuke.
Nice video! You missed the oil derrick left of the base in mission 5 : City of lights though
Too obvious which I though wasn't necessary to include.
Wow I missed this game so much! Thanks for making RA2 content!"
Should i be proud of myself because i knew a lot of them? *cough* *cough* humility at its best
Also this game deserves a remake , i believe it will a big deal if done correctly
Nice channel btw, didn't know there are still people passionate about the game
In Red Revolution, 2 Kirovs forced-drop bombs on enemy path on the east can massacre 80% of in-coming enemies, especially infantries and light armors. This can be a very effective way to level up your Kirovs.
Tanks and a few lucky infantries, and especially Terror Drones will get through, so be prepared.
this vid brings old memories.i am a huge fan of this game. istill have it installed in my computer
You missed one on mission 3, the big Apple. To the right side of base, probably bottom centre, there's a load of school buses. You can mind control one, garrison units in it, then drive up to base completely undetected. Very easy to capture battle lab very quickly and finish mission.
3:08 Looks like someone has been using a file or two he shouldn't be using :P
Busted. -.-
He did that for the allied one too
@@GHOST22x02 That's how you mision complete🤣👍

In Mission 6 (Sub-Divide) the Allied Destroyers guarding the Airport Island are not Destroyers but Coast Guard. Unique model of ship too. I found that rather interesting. Is that covered in a video somewhere?
Not really. Thanks for telling me, I may end up doing something.
1:54 Never seen this before, but the ape covers its eyes when the building is damaged!
He had the legacy to consider.
Last mission: If you capture an allied base and build an Satellite Uplink, the trigger of the Kirovs will fail and they start to attack you when you approach. If you get closer they change to your side.
I recently found out that In mission 9 if you infiltrate allied tech center you can get chrono Ivan. I thought it's worth mentioning.
I like how in RA2 every building from the Eiffel Tower to a simple farmhouse is, apparently, 4-20 (nice) feet tall, except for the Twin Towers which are horrifyingly colossal doom fortresses
In big apple there is also an allied war factory in the south east
0:20 btw the ships in there too can make your soldiers promoted if they where destroyed
I dunno if you try in skirmishes, if you find a crate chances are you can get a mammoth tank or a bomb will explode similar to crazy ivan
You forgot to mention the school bus in mission 3 the bus can carry 5 infrantrys unit and the bus is neutral
It's not as useful as in the Allied mission though!
the magic school bus trojan is my favorite tactic on that mission
