Could this be the Landcruiser killer? I certainly think so! The F-150 that Ford Australia are launching is tough, staunch and powerful. Not to mention it has more luxury appointments than most cars on the road!

Bloody pricey but it’s going to stir up the competition
It’s being sold at 85K aud in china
@@espkh1549 If these vehicles are sent to China From America being right-hand drive as China is that can save you at least $40,000 to change to left-hand drive here in Australia.
@@robertbutler8004 it takes 40K to convert a truck? This is too much man .what about Everest and ranger then, they are being built at the same factory in Thiland , but they are 30-40 % cheaper in china
Nah, Toyota got greedy, they’re not reliable anymore in their truck segment, and to some extent their SUV’s
I can have an appreciation for almost any rig, but this thing is just different to a cruiser, same as the grenadier... nothing's a LandCruiser killer for proper bush work. Nice rig though, no hate! 😊
Apart from a GQ or GU Patrol. 🙄
Patrols are sick, obviously we're talking about new rigs made today...
@@OutbackOffroadNTI think the only best new rig made today is and always going to be the landcuiser , if you want a better landcuiser then you have to go back to the future and get a 80series 😊

Exactly what I thought😂
Sam you must be on sum good shit a ford over a landcruiser. Give me a 100series fte any day
sum ? 🤣🤣🤣 The word you’re looking for is - some. Did you go to school ?
Loved the video mate. 🤙
Im planning on buying one of these next year & turning it into a touring beast. 😎🔥
I'm waiting for my one to come, I've ordered it in January this year,
I've been told it will he ready in the showroom floor by the end of January 2024. Carbonised grey. LWB Lariat. So, hopefully, it will be.
I test drove one today and it’s just an incredible vehicle. Big step up even from a next gen ranger!
Thank you for posting this video. I am gonna get Lariat with powerboost engine, 7.2 kW power on board, 6.5 bed. Am watching you from Canada.
With that gvm and price tag combo I just don't see it doing as well as Ford thinks
Check out the GVM upgrade numbers...
Pretty much the same price as a 79 after you mod them to be half the Ute the f150 is haha
@@Bigsoot7393except the 79 will last forever without rattles , squeaks & things falling off throughout the cab after the first trip on corrugated roads...Lol
@@christianlitsch1320 the flimsy doors on a land cruiser rattle from new? Haha

Love how every ute /wagon is a landcruiser killer!! Just think about it.
Yep they've been killing Land cruisers for 40 years... NOT..Lol
Not sure if this is common knowledge or not , but found out recently that the kerb weight of this vehicle includes 136 L of fuel . Therefore the payload of 700kg is not too bad, especially if you consider that the axle rating allows for a GVM upgrade. Potentially a good truck with the GVM UPGRADE and a decent suspension lift and off-road tyres. Has stacks of power and some really good tech on board, yeah it’s expensive after you throw another 15k at it, but backed up by unlimited kms 5 year warranty there are a lot worse expensive 4WDs on the road
I like the new editing touches including the intro Sam & team. This was really well put together, like sam's outfit! Haha bloke has style
Lmao yeah ok
“This car is never going to go off-road”
Never a truer word spoken .. but I don’t think you are being given one after that

Would’ve been nice to meet you if I knew you’d be around the Werribee to little river area mate, awesome review 🤙🏼
F series were assembled in the Brisbane truck plant up to late 80s.
Then officially impoted and sold by ford aus circa year 2000.
Hey broski they are blowing up everywhere in the usa and have for the last 13 years.
Give it the W.D treatment!
why is this vehicle not coming out with a tip tronic gear box ? or even a manual ?
Nice review, but you could not pay me to own one of these. Great for the cashed up caravaners that need the towing capacity and have no interest in going offroad or exploring the very remote and tough tracks.
And you certainly can't be comparing to any 4wd wagon, they're a completely different beast and therefore have different purpose. Saying you'd buy one over a 300 is just saying that it doesn't suit your needs to that of large utility with more towing and payload capacity. The 4wd wagon has its own set advantages, just depends on what you actually need.
Couldn't have said it better mate 👍
Best truck..good capability for all rounder
Ford backwards stands for driver returns on foot. If you wanna walk a lot then get the ford
Just letting you all know - Ford has a TON of Quality Control issues right now. Those 10 speeds have some pretty awful issues and so does that engine. Toyota doesnt win by power, fuel economy, or even cabin comforts. They win by quality and reliability.
You are just another toy-boy cultist. There are a lot of Toys in the dealerships with TONS of problems. And there are no issues with the ten spd trans like you want folks to believe. The 10 spds have been in trucks now for 8 yrs and work fantastic
Even Toyota's quality is gone to s*** they used to be reliable once not such anymore 👎
@@bobcat7664 Ive got a new model toyota, havent had a single issue 2 years/50k miles of ownership. Not sure how their quality is slipping.
From what I've been hearing a lot of people who have bought the LandCruiser 300 have had a lot of issues not to mention overpriced when you can get a brand new older Nissan Patrol for about $86,000 and run rings around the Toyota in the bush and on the road Towing not to mention the new y63 coming out next year Landcruiser 300 wouldn't be able to complete especially with the y63 new tech
@@bobcat7664 Only people buying Patrols are those who can’t afford a LandCruiser.
I'm a Ford F150 truck lover! They are the best!!! The Best never Rest!!!
For such big trucks, the GVM is terrible. Lariat payload = 685kg. Say you're towing a full-sized caravan... take away 350kg ball weight, two people (say 180kg in total), and you're left with 155kgs for all your gear/accessories. Which means the big tub becomes pointless. Add the fact that there's no diesel option, and that about does it for me... which is a bummer. I like the look of what Ford have done here.
Why would you want a new diesel? Too much emission bullshit
That’s why there’s an F250 and F350. F150 is more than enough for most people though.
The payload issue is Australia specific. For some reason they drop the GVM/GVWR for the Aussie market.
As far as diesels go, it's a US truck, so built for US regulations. Putting a diesel in a vehicle with a GVM/GVWR under 8,501lbs is a regulatory nightmare in the US. If you want the diesel you don't buy the F150, you buy an F250 or higher. Base engine on the F250/350 is either a 6.8L or 7.3L v8 gasoline/petrol. The 6.7L v8 standard or high output diesel is standard on the F450 pickup and is an option on the F250/F350.
@@rich7447 supposedly there’s the F200 coming out. A heavier duty version of the F150, so I would think that would be a good fit for the Aussie market.
@@alexsmba I think it has to do with it then being a heavy vehicle, you can probably get them upgraded but then you can only do 100 and a few other annoying issues
The F150 also has a max tow option which goes to 14,000 pounds of towing capability.
What’s that in metric ?

Just google Sherlock...
Not sold in Australia.
Looks like Wyndham Harbour, and the back blocks around Little River and the You Yangs!
Noticed that as well aha
Sam, your thoughts on the exterior side mirrors when towing, reversing?
Too small and slightly inadequate. Ford Australia and RMA changed the inner wedge mechanism, so clipping tow mirrors designed for USA F150 don’t fit. The F150 has smaller mirrors than the ranger. I know, I own a lariat LWB.
How much of a gvm upgrade can be put into it..... As it stands its big coin to carry very little after you drop 136kg of fule in it roughly. 540kg isnt alot especially when the average guy is 90 to 100kg your already down to 440kg and as a tradie id use every bit of that carrying just tools, yeah for the money its a pretty toy and totally impractical in regards to carrying anything and for such a big truck out of the factory to have such limited carrying capacity is a let down in a big way.
Other than that 1 fact id look at buying one everything else is spot on.
Dose the xlt version have a better payload like the ranger vs ranger raptor platforms
Trouble with the drive train from reports from the USA turns me off , but it looks the goods .
If Ford are so happy with the RHD conversion, why do they take 2yrs off the warranty? 5 yrs for American LHD, 3yrs for Australian RHD ?
No that’s incorrect the warranty is 5yrs unlimited kms here in Australia
Warrantees are only as good as the company that's honouring them. See Cadogens report on the best & worst companies to buy from. Ford are not on the best list & have a long history of blaming "user use" for things going wrong.
7 years in china mate check the website
Their conversions are rubbish go to US autos
Bring it out in a diesel frist one thing going for it is like the Ranger the tow package kills Toyota tow package out side of 300 its not a full screen mapping
The American Lariat comes with the 5.0 Coyote V8 is that an option for Australia?
Sadly not
Know a lot of nomads that bought big US Utes to tow their vans. They loved them till they did their first gravel & corrugated roads..Lol. The Yanks don't know how to glue the cars together....window & dashboard rattled , trim falling off & generally shocking build quality. They'll never replace the Toyota for durability & reliability. Secondly , never believe a paid motoring journalist on a weekend drive in an empty truck..Lol...dressed up car salesmen.
The eco boost can be easily remap and get 400 kw and 850 NM with the Cobb
Not on the MY2023 versions they can’t. MY2024 also introduced more challenges.
So, the Lariat version is $150k on road, it uses about 15Ltrs/100 k under normal conditions, more around town and much more if towing, it won’t fit in most car parks, looks like it was built 20 years ago and would be useless in a real off road situation because of its bulk and turning circle. Its only purpose seems to be either towing a rich persons giant highway traffic speed restrictor aka caravan or a rich persons “hey look at me” compensatory device. It just doesn’t do anything that can’t be done by a better vehicle, unless size is the only criteria.
Looks like the didn’t change the software for driver door ajar
There's the same one icon for all four doors
Does it come with free tilt tray service?
look where it breaths air from. lol😂. imagine going across a water crossing with it. one little bit water game over .
Honest Review...
Bring it to the Kalahari desert in South Africa and do same hard work.
It's a bigger engine than the Ranger Raptor. Good luck with reliability and durability.
Man also a big opinion for someone that dosent use their gear whens the last time you went out bush?
Why don't Ford Australia import a plain old basic XL F150?
Just wait for the F150 starts to break down on you and you wished you did have a Landcruiser.
I think I will stay with my 80. 864000km and still kicking arse.
Interesting how you've sold out so quickly for something that doesn't even fit what you do? That driveline has had a few issues in the US. With Raptors here already requiring new engines, sounds like those issues are common with Fords truck V6s? A lot of my mates have bought American trucks in the last year and they are way big, and simply don't fit in our car parks. Toyota is killing its own products with their Toyota Tax and handing their landcruiser segment to these Trucks, pitty. Stupid low payload limit for a 150K "work truck", what kind of BS is that?
If you think I got paid anything for this you'd be cruel mistaken 😂 Also, I wasn't obligated to say anything good or bad, I genuinely frothed the truck
Sold out a lil I reckon Sam. Still like ya and get you gotta do what you gotta do but sheet that was not an honest review it sounds scripted by ford
Still nothing on the 80 series mate ? No street pulls races sound clips nothing ?

400 on the balls 4 tonne on the trailer?
The payload in the US is much higher. I don't know why they reduced it for AUS.
@@rich7447 aswell as the towing capacity in USA is way higher I'd say it has something to do with it being any higher it may be considered a heavy vehicle here
@@Bigsoot7393 I do know that your limits on vehicle and trailer weight for your driver's license classes are much different. We can operate any vehicle or combination up to 26,000 lbs/11.8t on a standard class C passenger license. In most states you can go higher than that if operating recreationally.
Truthfully, anyone in the US or Canada that is routinely towing 4.5t/~10,000 lbs is going to go to an F250/F350 nine time out of ten. We don't really consider the 1/2 tons to be good tow vehicles and the mid-size trucks wouldn't even be considered.
