Mayor Whitmire, METRO Celebrate Groundbreaking of Westheimer Paving Project | Press Event

(Press Event - May 7, 2024) - Join Mayor John Whitmire, METRO Board Chair Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock, and community partners as the Authority breaks ground on a collaborative project to improve bus stops and repair pavement on a 6-mile stretch of Westheimer Road from Loop 610 to downtown. The project, part of METRO's BOOST 82 Westheimer improvements, will include repairing, paving and reconstructing all lanes, 50 new bus stops, new sidewalks, and new curb ramps. Just minor sidewalk, curb, and bus shelter improvements, 82 is in dire need of a dedicated lane treament tho. Should've been a rail line a long time ago.
