What a deal - I know you got to be buzzing! Congrats. Always good to clean them up and get them running again!
What a score! I picked up a similar Prairie 2 weeks ago for $1500 and felt like I got a pretty good deal. I will advance it for $2500 or so, but FREE! Wow.
Glad you got such a great deal!! Keep looking and hope you find some more. Im currently doing a partial restore on my dad’s prairie 360. New carb, plastic restore etc👌🏾
Appreciate the detail too, the spring and the gold piece for the chile fell out and I needed to remember how put it back in to save time
Oh nice, are you fixing your own quad?
What a great quad. It cleaned up very well.
Ain’t no way defenty the most lucky person I. The world lol
Unbelievable right? Got lucky with it being on a foreclosure. So there was paperwork to do but it was free from someone else. They sure paid a lot for it though!
it's very nice. and I look at local scrap bins see if there's any random stuff and bicycles to repair and use it's fun
i am glad it turned great for you and please have a great weekend
Way to go!!! I had to do the same thing earlier this past Spring.
ok now this is epic
Woah what the flip dude
Nice find and good job on the fix.
Wow man steal of a deal, seems to run pretty good from the video
I regret getting rid of my old Suzuki that my shop fell on bent the handle bars and broke the plastics but it ran fine bad a bad rear bearing or something so the chain whould fly off randomly parked it for a few years and sold it abt a month ago
hey man here in Portugal no one gives stuff for free. that quad, even not working would sell for 1500€ for sure
Normally it would be expensive here as well, I got lucky with this and a few other things
I USED THE MOTO1988 FUEL VALVE ON MY BUILD COUPLE YEARS BACK . FRACTION OF THE PRICE AT OEM AND IS PRETTY GOOD , JUST WASNT REALLY A FAN OF FUEL HOSE. FELT KINDA CHEAP AND HAD A LOT OF KINKS IN THE BOX . WOULD RECCOMMEND THE J-WHEELZ EXTENTION KIT . GIVES IT SOME WIDENESS. GREAT BUILD NICE JOB . IF YOU CAN FIND A WIRING DIAGRAM FROM THE O2 SENSOR THAT WOULD BE APPRECIATED . 🥳
that's amazing! 🥰
I have a 2001 I paid 300 for it is missing the carb to air box boot the carb leaks a lot of gas cleaned it and idk hey is still leaks most bolts are gone for the plastics the air box lid is gone and the lights don’t work did not have a starter but I bought one idk if it was a good deal
should never replace a stock carb unless its completely trashed.... amazon carbs cause ntn but trouble in future
Nice acquisition’s
That's a work horse of a quad
Wotadeal! I would have liked your riding shots a lot more if you had tilted your camera up so we could see the trail ahead. My 2 bits.
I had one, a 2010 had 20,000kms idk what that is in miles. Knew the thing like the back of my hand
Do the 80R next please
Yup! Working on the video for that now. Got it running nice. Needs more work than the quad though
@@HuckGang I’ll subscribe while I wait
Nice vids
Going to do any videos on the other stuff that came with it?
Yup working on a video for the XR80R now, been hard to get parts for it and the time
where I live, people would want $200 for that xr80, $250-$300 for the XT600 and a good $300-400 for the prairie. I only wish I could find $1k worth of stuff for free.
That's about right for me too except add $100 or $200 and probably 1500 for the quad because it wasn't too bad to get it running
Why didn’t you clean the air box before installing the filter? Sweet score! Lucky turd!
Good question lol. I actually vacuumed it out a little bit off camera, I had to dump dirt on it when we were pulling it out of the hole it was in because I used a little too much starting fluid and it caught on fire
Older modes u don’t need to pull break lever
I don't think you have to pull the brake lever on this. I just do it in case
hello, I have the exact same four-wheeler(with automatic transmission), but I'm having problems putting it in any gear (it only works in reverse and neutral, and sometimes H and L jump, but again I can't put it in neutral), can anyone give me some advice, please, what should I do? Thanks for every reply
Check the tension on the belt
@@HuckGang First of all, thank you for the quick answer, I want to ask how do I know it's bad if it's too loose but tight or both? because I took it apart yesterday, it seemed to me that it was looser than it should be…
I would say the first thing you should do is look up a service manual for it, or look up belt tension. Generally there is a certain amount of slack that you can measure with a tape measure and pushing it with your finger. There might be marks on the side of the case as well for the upper and lower limit
@@HuckGang okay, thanks, I'll try to find the manual on how it should be tightened... but just now I came back from the quad and found that there is almost no oil in the gearbox, could that be why I can't shift gears? sorry to bother you so much...
Yes that would definitely be a reason for hard shifting. Check what the manual says about transmission oil check procedure
I need some help with mine
I bought one of these for $300 in bad shape. I put about $700,00 in it and had it looking and running beautifully. Then somebody stole it from my yard
Hopefully you got a homeowners payout or something at least. That sucks to hear.
@@HuckGang Well I think it was a family member trying to make some money! Never did know the truth.
You have the fuel filter on backward.
What makes you say that? I'm pretty sure I checked the flow direction indicator before I put it on but I might be wrong. Also I've never had fuel starvation issues so even if it's back flowing it can do it at a decent rate
no its correct you will notice at 11:54 the arrow is going down for flow to carb!!he has it correct!
@@HuckGang you have it correct!!
nice deal. 1 thing is there no glass on fuel gauge? that will funnel water and junk into the tank.
Yeah, surprisingly it still works though! It's luckily a simple mechanism so not much to go wrong
Must be nice my Polaris cost me $1500
Tired of hearing about free abandoned stuff. I'm almost 63 and I've never even heard of so much abandoned things that I'm tired of all the fake videos.
Media contagion effect. I did get it for free. You just have to know where to look. This is the first time in my life this has happened.
