Anyway, in 1995 when Selena was preparing to open her second boutique, she was waiting for the landscapers to arrive but for some reason they didnt arrive soon enough so instead Selena went to Home Depot and picked up the supplies and did the landscaping and planted the flowers and plants herself. She was truly and amazing person, a go getter, basically all the qualities of a person with a brilliant mind Selena had. Imagine, a fashion designer that sings, dances, writes songs, runs a business, cooks for her husband, tours with a band, has multi-million dollar endorsements with Coca-Cola, At&t and multi-million dollar world wide recording contract doing landscaping, incredible.

Jay v I thought I knew what a "great voice" was before I found Selena's music, but in the Summer of '95, I heard her voice for the first time. The song was "I Could Fall In Love", and even though I didn't know a lot about her yet, I was captivated. Then, in '97, I saw the movie about her for the first of many, many times, and I became a huge fan then and there. It's been nearly 20 years now, and she's pretty much all I listen to. I can't imagine my life without her music in it, or the positivity and inspiration she brought to the world. God bless Selena, our incomparable queen. I will be a fan, and honor her memory, forever.

This was right before Yolanda Saldivar formed the fan club. Selena was already skyrocketing to superstardom before that snake Saldivar slithered into her life. Despite challenges when she first started out. She's one of those artists that you feel you know after an interview. If that makes sense. She was just herself and broke the 4th wall. She was so funny too. Especially when she said Spanish words or phrases wrong. She could laugh at herself too. I'm totally straight by the way, but I'd switch teams for someone like her I think 😂

It truly says something about a person's singing ability when you think the live version is way better than the studio version. Imagine all the collabs she could've done if she were still alive. Imagine the Selena movie but the ending montage was not so short because it would've covered her life as a wife, a mother and even as a grandmother and how famous she is now.

Selena’s life wasn’t all butterflies and rainbows. It took a lot of hard work. Back then there was no social media. To get recognized like that for that time was rare. Unless you had people/family in the industry it was very hard to make it. Selena went though so much to get where she was before she passed. She is a very hard worker and very passionate about her work. When Selena dose something she put everything she has in it. That’s what people don’t understand nowadays.

I thought I knew what a "great voice" was before I found Selena's music, but in the Summer of '95, I heard her voice for the first time. The song was "I Could Fall In Love", and even though I didn't know a lot about her yet, I was captivated. Then, in '97, I saw the movie about her for the first of many, many times, and I became a huge fan then and there. It's been nearly 20 years now, and she's pretty much all I listen to. I can't imagine my life without her music in it, or the positivity and inspiration she brought to the world. God bless Selena, our incomparable queen. I will be a fan, and honor her memory, forever.

Its hard to convert from Spanish albums to the English market, Thalia tried it Paulina Rubio tried it and they were not very successful at it and they made full albums. Selena was in the middle and made only a few English tracks and absolutely KILLED the english market with the few songs she recorded. They still play them to this day on the radio............... such a talent that no one at that time could even compare to

One thing I noticed about her is once she stepped on the stage she got right to singing her soul out . She also always bowed as a sign of ty and respect . Not many do that now a days . Such a beautiful soul.

I actually had a dream once where I went back in time to March 31st, 1995, and I barged into Yolanda's room, and I tackled Selena, and she dodges the bullet, and then I try to take the gun away from Yolanda, and I say "Run, Selena, Run!" Julie Hane Tejano is not dead, it’s just not as popular as it was in the 90s. It went back to the way it was before , made on independent record labels. The only difference is that now, there aren’t many radio stations that play Tejano anymore . Reggaetón, Latin Trap, Bachata, & Norteño took over.
Sad to say but Selena was the one who kept tejano music popular and I died off after her passing.

Selena...ughh girl. Her hair is so freakin gorgeous and that olive skin. Everything about her just seemed so pure and done wholeheartedly right down to her laugh and smile. Despite challenges when she first started out. She's one of those artists that you feel you know after an interview. If that makes sense. She was just herself and broke the 4th wall. She was so funny too. Especially when she said Spanish words or phrases wrong. She could laugh at herself too.

She's lip syncing, you can tell. Her bands isn't present on stage. The studio version sounds the same & you can tell its just playing. It truly says something about a person's singing ability when you think the live version is way better than the studio version. Imagine all the collabs she could've done if she were still alive. Imagine the Selena movie but the ending montage was not so short because it would've covered her life as a wife, a mother and even as a grandmother and how famous she is now.
THAT was a DYNAMITE performance! WOW!!! This young lady had the gift! Never knew much about her or tejano music until I heard the tragic news, but she really was a wonderful artist! I was missing out obviously! Sky was the limit for her. I know she wouldn't want us to be upset about what happened to her, but I am and I like many many others, wish I could have been there for her in some way to possibly have saved her. We can still enjoy her wonderful gift. ALL races! I'm African American and she touches me greatly when I hear her music or see her on stage!
