Pendulums are probably the most "feast or famine" mechanic in the game. Requiring two cards with a certain set of numbers to access the mechanic first leaves it more vulnerable to being stopped than other mechanics.
@@FurnaxIkki Junk Speeder is a part of a specific archetype. An archetype which is an exception, not the rule, for how Synchros function. Most Synchro decks can function even with an incomplete end board.
bro i swear to god, the amount of times i've got my high scale banished by cosmic cyclone is ridiculous, stop doing that, i'm just playing abyss actor, i'm not going to do a big ass 4 mats appo + baronne + savage + whatever pendsoup does this days, just let me do my theatre kid stuff
the funny thing is that if Konami wnats to supports Solfachords with their music-themed cards, there are so many things they can do, from alterations, keys, chords as combinations of them etc. Only one thing: please let them have pendulum effects instead of being vanillas. For majespecter is different since they are untargetable + indestructible
If konami can't make pendulum without balancing around pendulum good stuff slop, at least make more pend decks that make use of pendulum monsters' properties as face-up spell cards
@@dhanyl2725 Kind of? Problem is, their gimmick doesn't go beyond gaining counters from changing your life points and their pay off isn't that impressive when in the presence of other archetypes and removal. If they had protection while they had counters on them, Valmonica could have more staying power to make use of the counters. Without this protection, TT or HFD demolishes any investment.
@@otterfire4712 Uh you know that the Vaalmonica Fiend Link-1 literally protects cards from being destroyed including their scales (it has to remove counters to do it but still).
@@johnnywilson3071 requires the Link monster to provide this protection, meaning you need well over three cards to achieve this, and this link monster requires 3 counters on your fiend pendulum. Not only do you need 3 effects to stack counters on your fiend pendulum, you need a third monster to summon to link it off, just to give your pendulums protection. At this point, you'll have demolished your hand just to get the counters needed to summon a very killable link monster.
I genuinely wish that Konami fixes Pendulums, in a way which isn't just trying to make PePe deck number 382. Fix the Pendulum Soup problem, get rid of all the floodgates like Anti-Spell and the generic go-to tools like Apollousa and print support which uses the uniqueness of Pendulum, first are foremost.
I feel like the Pend Soup problem hasn't even been a thing for ages now, like stuff like Melodious Magicians do exist, but that's a soup in the same way Branded Chimera is a soup deck or like Bystial Runick is just Chaos Synchro soup Ironically from what I'm seeing, Kashtira as an engine feels like the thing that's making Pend a soup considering it's just a free Level 7
I think the solution is to just bring back the separate zones, though the Vaylantz would make this change difficult to some degree I think there's still a reasonable work around (specifying that moving them to the nearest possible monster zone)
You see stuff like this and then people still think pendulum is the most toxic thing the game has ever seen. Can't even do shit without two specific cards, and then additional monsters to summon.
Depends on the deck, but for the most part yes. Konami did design 2 archetypes that bypass this weakness somewhat, but neither has gotten any real support since 2020.
well last time konami had an idea of a new pend deck that doesn't use Electrumite and Apollo and Astrograph and stuff, they came up with Vaalmonica and it sucks sooo bad
@@Elystal Unless your referring to pre LEDE Vaalmonica then that is simply not true. The deck takes a lot of practice to fully understand though and the deck becomes proper good post INFO.
Nah Endymion can get screwed by this too. I'll never forget the first time I went second against a competent Exosister player with Endymion. You'd think that would be a good matchup for Pends because you never use your GY, then next thing you know they banish your Servant after you get 3 spell counters on her because all their removal hits "cards," not "monsters."
Man, the more I think about it, the less I'm able to come up with a way to make Pendulums - outside of 2 or 3 archetypes - not utterly useless. The entire summoning method is just severely flawed and was doomed to fail on release. It's a prime example of a good on paper and that's all it's good for mechanic that should never have gotten the go ahead. Hell, it's probably why I didn't like ARC-V as well.

just one more support, trust me :copium:
Once konami gives us the third playable main deck solfachord we will be so back trust me bto
People out here asking for in-archetype sangen summoning
Trust me bro, as long as there's no interruptions, Solfachords pop off.
Unironically true. Solfachords can make 2 negates and a pop minimum with the average hand, It's just that we die to any singular interruption lmao.
