- Policing minister Chris Philp has called on forces to increase the use of stop and search as part of a “robust approach” to tackle knife crime.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Mr Philp described stop and search as a “vital tool” which is “not used nearly often enough”.
Former Met Detective Mike Neville joins Talk’s Kevin O’Sullivan to analyse the crime situation on London streets.

Caught carrying a knife- 5yrs of national service. They aren’t taught discipline by their parent/parents in the home. If caught with a knife and they still live at home with parents- the 5yrs plus £5,000 fine for parents to pay. There HAS to be parental responsibility too.
