This album is an homage to the theater organ idols of my youth, and is the product of listening to and being moved by their artistry and hoping to emulate them through my own playing and arranging.

Ken, I bought your album on iTunes and this track is by far my favorite. What a coincidence, "Have You Met Miss Jones" is my favorite track on Buddy's "Modern Pipe Organ" LP! Buddy is definitely smiling down on you from the bench of the great organ in the clouds!

Hey Mark, Just saw your post now! Glad you heard my "lift" from Miss Jones, it was intentional. You probably noticed that "Paper Moon" is a combination of Buddy's Sassy Brass and a 1950s David Rose orchestra arrangement or that Till There Was You was inspired by Buddy's Secret Love. Thanks so much for listening and writing. Ken

That's a crazy instrument. Imagine building that. Not only connecting the mechanics but also the musical parts with everything in tune and with a timbre. What to charge for that thing? What year is it made?

Aside from a few made pre WW1, all Wurlitzers were made in the 1920s and 30s. This is a small example - they got a lot bigger, the largest being the one in Radio City Music Hall, NYC, followed by the five Fox Specials (the prototype being the ex NYC Times Square Paramount organ now in Century II in Wichita, the others being the Foxes in Detroit and St Louis, both in situ and playable in 90-100% original condition, San Francisco, transferred to the much smaller El Capitan Theatre on the Fox's demolition, and Brooklyn, broken up on the theatre's closure).
