As a new grad neuro ICU nurse I love your videos
So glad to hear it and congrats on the new ICU gig! I'll be focusing on cardiac topics for the next bit, but after that, the next requested was Neuro so perhaps later this year, early next year I'll be doing a big focus in your area.
Same here but for peds icu! These videos are so awesome
Hey Eddie!!! You’ve been on a long hiatus. We miss you and hope you’re doing well. I just joined the ICU a month ago and have been rewatching your videos 100x. Wishing you all the best and hope North Carolina is treating y’all well. When you get the chance we’d love see more lectures on CVP, PA, PAOP, and other more invasive hemodynamic monitoring topics. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks Ping! NC is treating me well. Sorry for the hiatus but hopefully should be all taken care of for now. Fortunately for you all the stuff you are asking for is coming here shortly! :)
Amazing video! I’m a new grad ICU nurse and yours video VERY helpful! Thank you very much for all effort and great teaching skills! ❤

I get very excited when your new content comes out. Thank you for teaching us. ❤❤❤
The lowest doses patch, cutting in 2 ! Its mini mini but its unbelievable, it works ! No itching everywhere, not sick or dizzy .
We use intranasal Fentanyl almost routinely for analgesia in deformed fractures in paediatrics (e.g. Banana Arms) - NHS Emergency Department (UK)
dose?
I’ve also seen it used in the pediatric ICU setting for pain relief in toddlers and younger here in Texas
@@zecodechivo Based on weight.
Interesting! I've never given it intranasal and definitely do not have any experience with peds. Thanks for sharing
I meant the same as I.v.'s??
Your vids are so helpful! I was wondering if you could do a series on VADs
This videos are amazing ! Thank you for this!
Used it in bedside intubation and sedation often.
Yes definitely!
I really really like fentynal for sedation because I can pretty much be sure my patients aren’t in pain. I’ll titration the fent up till about a rass -1 and then finish it off with low dose propofol usually like 10-20 mikes
Yes it’s a great adjunct and imo should almost always be on board to aid in comfortable sedation
I agree, I tend to prefer a high fent gtt and lower prop if I can. Always patient dependent. I work in a neuro/trauma/surgical ICU so we see a lot of different patients with different needs.
Bless you
Thank you for this information, plz can you tell us about GI abnormalities and GI bleeding in icu ❤️
Brief video. A great help. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video!
Didn't know about the relationship with histamine and blood pressure. Also, it's lipophilic! Who knew!
Hey I just recently completed my nursing and my 1st job assigned me icu .... Your videos are great help can you put videos of IV infusion and drug calculation too ?
Congrats! What are you looking for with IV infusion? I'll add drug calculations to the todo list
Really like these videos. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
SO relieved to know there are physicians who haven’t been completely indoctrinated that opiates/ opiods are only needed in somewhat rare severe instances, thanks to the so called opioid crisis. “Let us avoid making surgical patients pay with unnecessary suffering for the opioid overprescribing sins of others.”
Amazing thank u so very much
Most welcome 😊
Would you be able to do a video on cleviprex, nitroglycerin drips and how they work n when to use one or the other ?
Good job bro
Hi ❤ I love your videos ❤️❤️ I’m a medsurg RN and I am planning to have my transition in ICU. can you do basic ECG reading lectures?? 😊
Already has a great multiple part series. Works well for the EMS side too.
Thank you
Why to be causious with brain tumor?
What is the realationship?
We use this daily in the cath lab. Great video!
Yes another one you're very familiar with haha!
Good old versed and fent pushes lol
What is that incidence of people developing PE or DVT while on fentanyl gtt? How long would someone have to be on the gtt to develop such adverse effect if there’s a higher incidence of the adverse event? If someone has pre-existing DVT or PE, would that be a contra indication for administering fentanyl? I look forward to your input regarding this curiosity. As always thank you for all that you provide to our healthcare community.
Please explain oral fentanyl. I’ve never administered oral(not buccal). I didn’t know that they make fentanyl pills
Hey Eddie,
Great video. Obviously it’s up to the provider but have you found any preferred guidelines to follow when tapering a patient off fentanyl? I’m always worried I’m titrating down too fast or too slow.
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Keep up the good work👍🫢
I have a question. If the patient is allergic to fentanyl and is recorded in his/her medical record, can fentanyl be given in an emergency situation such as for intubation? Or should alternative sedative be given?
Aspiring male nurse with your same last name here, just wanted to say thank you for what you do!
Youre welcome Mr Watson lol. Best of luck on your journey!
Why some meds can be given IV piggy bag or push, but some are not? Such as dopamine can only give piggy bag. Ty
Brilliant do usually draw up in your country 2ml in 8ml of saline then push half at a time? Also you would give an anti medic no doubt. 😊
Hello sir great video
Sir can u plz make video on swan gauz catheter or pulmonary artery catheter
This will be a popular video
Appreciate that!
Is it fair to say that fentanyl should not be used in patients who are opioid naive? Or can it be used in such cases but only with great caution?
I would say a lower dose may be required for the opioid naive. Davis Drug guide says it’s just contraindicated those that are intolerant. Doses for those that are tolerant say to start with 100mcg, but in the ICU we start with 50mcg. But this is just during bedside procedures, maybe different for breakthrough pain.
@@jljordan1 Cheers Jen. What’s in the books and what’s practiced don’t always correspond exactly.
Dear sir i am cardiac icu nurse
Can i get written notes of your lectures plz !??
Hey there. The notes are available to the CZcams or Patreon members. You just have to sign up for either one.
I’m a writer and I need facts. So I guess I’m here to learn??
