My Jack Russell terrier saved my life just last week. I was at a barbecue and was about to eat a large sausage, which I would surely have choked on and suffered a terrifying, painful death. Fortunately, he was on hand to pinch the sausage off my plate and wolfed it down before any further damage was done. Such helpful, protective creatures.

My Dog, who is an Irish hound saved my life. I was walking out in my front yard when he came barreling past me and attacked something that was very close to me and in my path. It turned out to be a rattle snake. My dog was bitten twice but I got him to the vet very quickly and he was good. I love my best friend.

Man, that dog standing up to that bear is the closest thing I've seen to a real life version of Ash's Charizard fighting the invincible Entei in the 3rd Pokémon movie, he REALLY loves his owner!
Classic example
goated example tbh. My staffie doesn't give me the time of day for the most part when my wife's home, but when it's just me and him or when something is up, he's right at my side.
That clip of the German shepherd protecting that little boy, is simply amazing. No other words to describe it.
Looks more like an Anatolian Shepherd. Most badass dog in the world. Legit.
It didn't seem to me that the black dog was trying to attack the boy.
It looked like he just saw the boy playing with his yellow dog and wanted to join.
(Ofc that's just my opinion ... and that's just what I've gleaned from watching this very short clip. So maybe there's more information I'm just not aware of.)
But German Shepherds don't care if your intentions are good or bad... they just assume you intend to do harm and they'll protect their "family" at all costs.
@@inthelandofmorethansmall7582 Anatolian shepherd, or mix for sure.
@@inthelandofmorethansmall7582 I actually believe the black dog thought the yellow one was attacking the kid which is quite common with loose dogs around kids.
Everyone is making it out that he was trying to attack the kid because of the narrative but in reality he had nothing to do with him, he went straight for the yellow dog and paid no mind to the kid. In his protective mind all he seen was the yellow dog chasing etc. the kid. The place it came from had kids in the yard that it was with.

That cat story never gets old. When a cat protects it’s human instead of fleeing in terror, you’re their family- not their owner.

I grew up with a German shepherd ❤️ they are fiercely loyal and so incredible 😊
I have one now. Pure breed. What an amazing dog. He’s so protective over my family.
To this day, that cat saving the boy on the bike is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. What a miracle that was for that boy.
No miracle, just a good bond with a fellow animal. If you treat another animal well, they will fight for you if needed. Just like you would for those that you love. The internet is full of stories of kindred spirits between the most "unlikely" species. It's one of the most basic laws of nature. It's just a shame that humans have evolved into something that stands so far away from nature that killing, death, evil, jealousy, stress, dishonesty, stealing and violence stand closer to us than peace, live and let live, sustainability, friendship, respect, trust etc.
That cat wanted all the smoke 😂
Tell u the truth the coyote one the drowning dog and others just have shitty humans. Let me fill this dog nearly drowning and not help. Let me film my dog being attacked. Good footage. Garbage humans.
Seriously. I've never seen or heard of any cat doing anything like that; that clip blew my mind!
I guess you didn't notice the part of the video where the cat was also attacking the child? (7:40) The truth is that cat was in such a state of frenzy at that point is was probably attacking anything that moved...But that doesn't make for a very good story. The only truly amazing clip in this whole video is the white german shepherd knocking the boy down to protect him...
My favorite part about the cat protecting the kid was the cat looked back to the kid, but realized mom was there for the kid and pursued the dog more.
Yeah cat at the end was awesome. Hit the dog like a linebacker, spins around, sees the where the dog is, then launches 2nd attack.
There’s actually a lot of clips more than you think there was of cats protecting people. They’re actually a pretty protective animal. Who would have thought 🤷🏻♂️
@Prince Questly They are! It was a while back, but a guy broke into a house while a woman was alone taking a shower. She had a cat that was de-clawed on his front feet but had his back claws. The guy headed up the stairs and the cat ripped him to shreds. The police caught him later and he couldn't deny it. I was trying to find that one, but it was a long time ago and there are a lot of stories of cats protecting people.
If I remember the story correctly, it was the neighbor's dog who lived next door... The narrator said it was a stray
Cat Scratch Fever.
My dog protected my daughter. They were in the yard playing. My daughter was 4 at the time and Missy was 7. The meter reader came into the yard to check the meter, Missy had never messed with him before, but this time she jumped in front of my daughter and wouldn't let him move, at all. He couldn't even back out of the yard. I heard her growl and stepped out. I was very amazed because she wasn't trained. She was amazing. This was 30 plus years ago. She is still missed.
That tiny dog barking with all its might in the road. A mighty act from a great heart, all contained within the smallest of frames. What a noble character.

I've seen a few of these before, but in my opinion, that cat saving its human baby is by far the very best. That cat went into full blown "protect at ANY cost" mode and was clearly ready to lay its own life down if need be to protect the child. That cat had absolutely no hesitation and the only time it stopped was to make sure the little boy was okay before continuing to get the dog away from the child. If that were my cat, it would 100% live out all of its remaining years in absolute luxury after what it did; and what it was willing to sacrifice for the family that day.
When I was maybe 9 or 10 and living on a 90-acre farm in southern Maine, one summer day I was helping my dad fix the pot belly stove in the summer room, and our female cat, Midget, was hanging around while we were working. All of a sudden we hear the neighbor's shepherd mix male dog (maybe 70 pounds) running towards our open-air garage, where Midget had a litter of kittens she had given birth to about a month prior. We knew the dog was coming because its dog tags gave off a loud clanging sound, and so our cat knew that sound as well. And that dog was likely going to wreak havoc or maybe even kill the kittens, and our (maybe 8 pound?) cat was gonna have a say about that.
Anyway, before dad or I could open the screen door to let the cat out, Midget bolted through the frayed lower corner of the door and the cat arrived just as the dog arrived. The cat immediately attacked, and over around 10 seconds, the cat went into a clawing frenzy on the dog's nose, and it reminded me of one of those cartoon buzzsaw cats do to a dog. All we saw was dirt flying up everywhere, and the dog let out multiple YELPS, as it ran away like a little bitch. So after my dad and I picked our jaws up from the floor, that's when we realized when a cat needs to be badass, it can REALLY be badass, because that dog didn't know whether to shit or go blind after the fury our cat unleashed on it for those few seconds.
The cat didn't save the baby. It simply attacked the dog as many cats do.
true but it is more to do with this is their patch and they will attack love cats

This reminds me this dog that used to follow me and my grandma around all the time back in Jamaica. I don’t remember the breed but he was close to a golden retriever. It’s so funny that he was never my dog but acted like it. I first met him in the group of dogs I used to feed my dinner leftovers too. One moment that truly was heartbreaking and heartwarming to me though was when I walked by my friends house. He had some really wild dogs, like hyenas. On that day, they looked like they were about to attack me but then the dog that always followed me actually fought them off for me. He was so brave. I felt very sad when I saw him come back to my house with some cuts and scratches. From that day on, he was my dawg.

Cats are protectors. I was working in the garden one day and my cat was on the chair, chillin, when he got up really quickly and zoomed past me. I turned to see what had his attention when I seen my cat chasing off a coyote that was really close to me, like it was about to attack me since I was on my hands and knees. I helped my cat chase off the coyote and I managed to pick up my cat and we both got in the house safely. If it wasnt for my cat, I dont know what wouldve happened. He grew up to be 13 yrs old and big! He out grew his siblings and even out lived them. He sadly died of old age in my arms as my dad watched and couldnt do anything to help. I love my cat to this day and can feel him jump on my bed to this day when I had a bad day. I believe he is still with me.
That is beautiful
If you’re in the woods with your dog always pay attention to them. That dog saw the bear before the guy did. I remember one time I was hiking with some friends and we had a couple dogs with us. The lead dog just stopped with its paw up. He was looking around but couldn’t see anything. After a min or so I saw what it was. Nothing crazy, it was a Turkey hunter completely camouflaged at the base of the tree, like this was the best camouflage job I’ve ever seen. The dogs didn’t even see the guy until he waved. They must have smelled him first but couldn’t get a visual on him. We would have walked right by him if the dog didn’t just freeze in place. It was a good hike but I can’t say that Hunter was too happy lol probably scared off the turkeys 🤷🏻♂️.

I remember seeing another video of a pair of dogs saving their owner from an aggressive bear. It was amazing, one went on the aggressive while the other one tried to display weakness and bait the bear to chase him in the opposite direction of the guys door rather than just away from the guy. The way they were situated was that if the dogs got the bear to go in the opposite direction of the guy it'd would have blocked his door, so they actually directed the bear in like a right angle away from the guy and the door. They were so intelligent and reminded me of the first dog in the video protecting the little boy, absolute geniuses and heroes!
Animals are people too ….they will protect you to the end!
We don't Deserve dogs😢
Its instinctive "pack" behavior. Most animals (humans included) cant defend against attack from behind as well as in front. A pack (wolves, dogs, hyenas, w/e) surrounds the target (in this case one in front and one in back) and any dogs behind the target then attack while the dogs in front give ground. They dont have to do a lot of damage, it just keeps coming no matter which way the target turns and the cumulative effect wears them down. Its why you dont run from a dog, you may trigger an attack that wasnt otherwise coming when their "Im behind, my turn to attack" instinct kicks in. Unless dogs are trained to attack, they will tend to back up when aggressively charged. Of course if you have some in front and some in back of you, you have a problem.

I doubt the duckling was in trouble...the retriever was doing what they were bred for, retrieving waterfowl.
Golden Retrievers, and all retrievers, were bred to RETRIEVE game. That's exactly what this dog is doing, retrieving game for it's master's dinner. They have what's called a "soft mouth" so they do not mangle the meat when retrieving it. It has NOTHING to do with helping the duck, and everything to do with helping his master eat, and maybe get some morsels for himself. THIS IS WHAT THEY WERE BRED TO DO.

Cats are more protective than people realize. My old cat, Smokey, was neutered but still behaved like a tomcat in terms of his willingness to brawl to protect his territory/family. One summer day my sister's young cat came racing down the road towards our house with a Rottweiler right behind him. Smokey saw this happening and ran to meet that huge dog head on. My sister's cat escaped and then a tense standoff began between the Rottweiler and my cat. Neither was backing down. Smokey, in typical cat fashion, was puffed up to twice his normal size, and he was already a healthy 15lb cat. His back was arched, he was fully turned sideways and he was growling louder than I'd ever heard him before. The Rottweiler tried a bluff charge and Smokey just straight up attacked the dog's face, ripping its nose open. The Rottweiler turned and ran but Smokey jumped onto the dog's back with full claws. The dog was running for its life, yelping, while Smokey was clinging to its back haunches and biting the Rottweiler's tail nub. Once they were about a quarter of the way up the road Smokey let go and trotted home like nothing happened. Needless to say, that dog never came near our property again.

German Shepherds gotta guard. Retrievers gotta retrieve. Dobermans gotta defend. They're wonderful, true to breed. The cat, on the other hand, is amazing - where did that come from?!
This reminds me of the best cat I ever had, Garfield, he was a large boisterous cat that used to follow me to primary school two streets away then walk home once I was safely inside, everyone on our street knew and loved Garfie (as we called him) because they would occasionally find him in their house asleep in their washing basket or on top of their washing machine*. He wasn't big on rules. Anyway, we also had two small dogs, Pomeranians, that Garfie regarded as his little sisters (and he was bigger than them), one day two Rottweilers broke in to our garden through a damaged fence and even though both of our dogs were inside the house Garfie darted straight out the back door and attacked the Rottweilers. He went straight for the nearest dog and started clawing at it's face, the dog fought back and got Garfie down on the ground but Garfie didn't give up and kept lashing at the dog's face, the dog turned tail and ran followed by the other dog.
It was one of the craziest things we ever saw an animal do, Garfie was a big cat but those dogs were huge, he became something of a neighbourhood legend after that and my older sister would often get asked "Do you guys own the crazy cat?", he died in 1998 at the age of 17. And yes, he was ginger, you wouldn't call a black cat Garfield...
*Most neighbours loved Garfie and would either shoo him away if they found him in their kitchen or garage or they would leave him sleeping, but one neighbour who was afraid of cats would often have to ask my mum to retrieve him from her house as he would sleep on her washing machine and she'd be too scared to approach it/him.

7:20... that's an incredible story about the cat that saved that child. The poor kid had to get a few stiches as a result of that attack. I'm a dog person, but that cat is awesome.
Not an everyday cat! But not as uncommon as you might think. One of the best things youtube does is it ahows you how often there are ordinary housecats who are extraordinary, because when it comes to the turf, they wont tolerate any dog, a bear, not even a b u f f a l o
You're the right kind of dog person.

Hell yeah that's a badass cat lol
This is why I love dogs 🐕🐶 my favourite pet and best friend very loyal good obedient will protect your home and alert you against intruders and fight other dogs ❤
I have 4 Goldens It's their instinct to retrieve birds from water. It's what they were bred for, and they have very 'soft' mouths. Despite being very very friendly, they will protect their family. Our boy Max scared off a black bear at 9 months old! Good job Max!...and thanks for not chasing it into the woods buddy, that woulda been scary as hell.
Amazing, the most being, the the faithful cat , jumping out to chase away the attacking dog, in order to save the little girl. Wow, very impressive indeed. And all the other brave dogs, defending their owners or the little girl he didn’t know. And then putting himself in the middle of the road to draw attention to the danger, the little girl was in. All magnificent, brave, faithful creatures, that I love so much, bless them all, and I mean ALL the animals on earth! ❤
Tiny cat Vs big dog. Nature is remarkable
@@Lone_Star86 As we saw on the last video, cats too have the same instincts as dogs and will defend their family when danger appears! 👍🏻🐕🐈
It was a boy.
That golden retriever with the gosling/duckling just saw the little water fowl and couldn't resist his retriever instincts! I'm 50/50 on whether or not the little bird was actually in trouble as they are made for the water or he was just swimming happily along when the golden spotted him and his retriever brain told him with every ounce of his being that he needed to scoop up the little guy and "retrieve" him for his human! Instincts are a hard thing to ignore.... Isn't it amazing how gentle retrievers are when carrying something, they can carry the most delicate creatures like a live duckling without putting a scratch on them.
Dog disturbed the duck wading on the water.
From the captions on the actually video - looks like the dog just saw the duckling and instinctively "retrieved" it for it's owner - The captions read something like "Violet thinks she is rescuing a duckling" - The word "thinks" makes me believe the duckling wasn't drowning under the water at all... Because surely the captions on that persons video (which clearly the owner had filmed and put those captions there) would have said that Violet had rescued the duck.
But it was amazing none the less how gentle violet was with the baby duck.
Love this kind of stuff. This is why we love our furry friends.
Dogs are amazingly courageous creatures
YES!! I don't see why people say they suck
The cat! Nothing beats it. The seriousness of that situation, the awareness, and the bravery, is off the charts. After analyzing this, like the map only seconds before parachuting into warzone, it blows my mind. The realization and thought this cat showed should deepen the awareness and intelligence we credit cats with. The stance after getting the dog off, and the unbelievable awareness to stay between the baby and the dog until the parent arrived, and then, as soon as the baby was safe, to sprint after the dog to revenge his baby brother, is epic. Instinct may be a part of this, but I'm afraid they're just a little smarter than we know. And they don't care if you know it! Which is cool. Cats are cool. 🙀
cats are absolutely amazing creatures all the way around
i've seen that cat video a hundred times. it's pretty incredible
If this guy would stfu maybe I could watch this
Sorry but that dog defending his owner against an effing bear takes the cake.
@@mynameisinigomontoya8179 It was a young black bear looking for berries, he was scared of the dog whose tail wagging revealed he wanted to play.
I love the last one about the cat.
That was the biggest surprise of all.
I've seen that video before, it was a surprise for sure! But I had a cat do something similar years ago, attacking a stray dog that wandered into our yard. The dog wasn't being mean or anything, I guess it just got into our cat's territory or something I don't know. It's a good thing it was a just a kitty cat and not a pet jaguar or something. Lol
I think I finally decided what kind of dog I want now. Golden Retrievers are such awesome dogs!!
Dogs are a blessing.
Don't know if the duck was drowning, but I do know that the dog bringing it to shore is a Golden Retriever, which are bred to instinctively retrieve any bird to it's master with a soft mouth. They are normally used for hunting.
That's what I was thinking, the dog wasn't saving a drowning duck... it was retrieving a bird.
the duck was just minding its business, but at least the dog went for a swim.
@@neil9383 Exactly the reason I came to the comments. The duck won't have been remotely drowning. Their downy feathers actually make that practically impossible.
Well the original video clearly points to how click baitey this channel is... The duck was never drowning, just a curious pup being a pup.
Ducks have increased buoyancy in the water. If you've ever watched them they dip their heads below the surface but most of their bodies remain above the surface. Light enough to fly and float with little effort.
Dogs are truly a blessing to us humans…….❤
The way the dog in the first clip knocked down the little boy so the dog could get on top of him was so amazing 🥲and the tiny little doggie that helped the baby on the road
There is much truth in the s aging, "the more I see of people the better I love my dog",
*That is absolutely brilliant; I just wish more people would value these animals instead of mistreating them. ❤*
Dogs protecting a kid like that doesn't get better than that. Awesome to see.
It cannot be understated how beautifully and unconditionally loyal dogs are. They will gladly die to defend your life. Coyotes are a huge problem in the area I live and I've never been more thankful to have my German Shpeherd mix than when they show up to start shit. At least 3 separate times now he has charged after them and drove them off without a second thought for his own safety to protect me and I could not be more appreciative. He is the best boy. I'd give my life for that dog and I know he'd do the same for me. ❤
Coyote should have been shot. They have no fear and no boundaries.
I never thought coyotes were much of a risk to Adults, but after reading of a attack by 2 coyotes (DNA determined just 2) on a young promising female musician in Canada that took her life as she was walking on a trail, I have changed my idea of their danger big time, even if those attacks are rare!
@gerry whelan They aren't common but their danger increases the further north you get. We have extremely long winters here and so when they get hungry they become more bold. Never underestimate a hungry animal, even if they seem harmless or unassuming. Coyotes are extremely clever hunters.
A coyote is no threat to you. To say so, is ridiculous.
@@austin3626 Lol
7:23 I watched every second of the video without skipping, and my favorite moment was when the cat glanced back at the kid but then realized the mom was there to protect, so it focused more on chasing the dog. ❤❤❤❤
If unconditional love and loyalty had to be represented by one thing It would be a dog
20 years ago, my lovely 85 pound Lab Husky cross saw a German Shepherd charging my wife and myself. He calmly walked 10 yards in front of us putting himself between it and us, then just stood his ground. The charging Shepherd veered off at the last minute. My dog tossed his head and walked back to us, getting a lot of praise.
Was the Shepherd barking or anything? Sometimes they charge up to people but when they get there their ears go back and theyre cool. People just get terrified seeing them coming towards them though.
@@JoCo480 nope. It just made a direct line for us. After it veered off it held its ground for a while at a greater distance and then barked a bit, before turning round and trotting off. It was then my dog raised his head and returned to be near us.
@@JoCo480 yeah dog lover or not there are certain breeds you don't take chances with. The GS can inflict a lotta pain quickly that's why they're used as K-9s. If I'm gonna take a chance like that I have options available. On another note an Amazon driver here died bc the owners who were away were very irresponsible and had packages delivered to their home while dogs were unsecured. 1 shepherd + 1 Cane Corso were inside and came outside chasing him to the backyard where they viciously and fatally mutilated him. If that were me I'd just toss it over the fence, not worth my life.
@@TruthHurts404 Ive been on the good side and bad side of them before haha as an owner and the victim of a bad owner/dog. I wouldnt take chances but I dont get hysterical because I know they look as if theyre charging at you to kill when they might just want to say hello.
@@baejiaoflying9434 Couldve been either or but good thing your dogs not scared to stand its ground.
That German shepherd from the beginning had me in tears proud of him like he was my dog the way he protected that child
The other dog probably didn't even want to harm the boy but to play too. But no stranger should approach a puppy. Many humans learned that lesson the hard way when they approached the babies of animals and their momma showed up
The dogs are not only beautiful animals, warriors and guardians they are angels.
Amazing... The animal human bond... Forever unconditional love and loyalty❤️🐾🐾
I love how the dog is trained to stay in the yard. Train your dog to stay on your property. This will protect your dog and others as well. A well trained dog will defend his turf but allow people and other pets to pass by safely.
My dog was traumatically injured a couple days ago, and i was the one who saved her. I think she will protect me at all costs now ❤ it definately bonded us

Humanity in the dog is remarkable.
Dumbest comment of all time.
An angry dog is one thing but when a cat opens up a can of whoop ass it's a completely different story.
I love how humans took a particular species of the most dangerous apex predators on earth and bred it to a shrunken size so as to make it a practical house pet. They still have that craziness in them from their ancestors.
Ooeey! Tell me about it! They lose their mind...it's a killing machine.
Most dogs are bigger, stronger and can have a serious bite, but cats have twice the weaponry, speed and agility.
@@JeantheSecond Another unintended cool thing about a cat's "weaponry" is that when cats bite, their teeth puncture into skin and when the cat bites, the bacteria from their mouth is also inserted in that puncture wound. When the skin tries to heal the puncture, it seals the top of the puncture leaving an environment for that bacteria under the surface of skin to cause internal infection and can become deadly to humans if not immediately taken to the ER and given treatment/antibiotics. Cats are more deadly than we think.
@10 shi
Truth, beings I had to have surgery due to a cat bite.
I'll never forget the time my neighbors mama cat went ballistic ape shit over the neighborhood tom who cornered one of her babies. She was out for blood.
