One information i will add regarding alto spark plugs
Suzuki is using copper spark plugs, i checked and tunned their gaps via suzuki dealer shop three times within 5k running, resulting in frequent gap change that need to be adjusted
Suzuki is also keeping wrong spark plug gap that is 0.95mm instead of 0.80mm as mentioned in japanese manual
I think it will be better to use irradium instead of copper plugs
I will request a video on this topic and vehicle review as well after mentioned modification
Hello Faisal, Sorry for replying here this late. Actually JDM manual shows 0.8mm gap of Iridium plugs and PKDM alto comes with standard copper plugs which work best at 1.05mm gap.
I have tried these plugs at 0.8mm gap, it died lol changed back to 1.05mm gap and worked like a charm.

I have a query that there are many jdm cars running in pak but everyone doen't changed the oem spark plug gap settings. Then why suzuki has changed it to 1.05mm as compared to 0.80mm.
I have used the settings of 0.80mm and drive 1000km average increasd but power decreased, my initial thought was that my car has driven 7500km and still under slight running.
I think after completion of running let say 15k km, gap of 0.80mm may suit the car?
Whats ur opinion in this regard.

Mashallah great response aya, gari ki sari awazin khatam, engine soo gia hay bilkul.... 2.7 ltr dala hay, woh b pura aya hay engine main 3 ltr wakai zayada dal jata. Wakai suzuki walay phudu hain, in ko nahi pata....

Pak Suzuki is just earing money and nothing else no good cutomer services yhough they carged 45500 for alto ags registration but actual cost was 38800
I agree with you. Also emailed Pak suzuki, they are insisting on 10w40. If I go for 0w20, it would void my warranty. Which is a serious concern in new car. I am confused, what should I do?

Apky ki video dekhny ka bad mene Apni Alto vxr ko switch kia ow20 oil pr after that noise reduced nd also pick up. Then i thought after sometime it'll ok but day by day i feel it's underpowered nd in a weak i changed back on 10w40 sgo premium oil and now ALHUMDULILLAH it's fine with same power. so brother's my suggestion is please don't switch on ow20 oil i experienced personally very bad nd wasted 4k.

It depends on your usage, for me 3 lakh 80 thousand is alot of money so id go for alto vxl.

great video. i have toyota passo 2015 model, driven almost 95k kms, and whenever i have gone to a mechanic for oil change each one of them recommends some different oil each time. would highly appreciate if you make a guide regarding suitable engine oil according to mileage for japanese cars as well. thumbs up!

BTW I have JDM Alto 2015 and have been using Total Quartz 9000 0W20 for almost one and half year. I have driven it more than 50,000 km (excessive traveling which includes daily commuting of at least 80 km) and have some following comments:
1. regarding oil replacement, using fully synthetic oil and dumping it below 5k isn't worth it. I change it at least after 7k km irrespective of environment.
2. spark plugs, JDM 2015 i have, came with Altis Grande spark plugs. later i found that spark plugs mentioned on the manual are old ones (NGK ILKR7J8, DENSO ZXU22HPR8) and their model alternates are available which are: ILKR7D8, LKR7AIX; LKR7BIXP, LKR7AIXP; IXUH22I, VXUH22I - referenced to NGK and DENSO official websites; i have opted for LKR7BIXP recently.
3. pak suzuki claims that K series engines are different that's why they use different oils. as JDM's have R series engines which are one generation ahead so i didn't bother about claim of pak suzuki and came to know about their "dimag kharab" through your evaluation. hahaha
4. i have realized through your video that i have never cross-checked the oil filter and always relied on mechanic though he is reliable one for me but I have saved part number from your video and i'll cross-check my current oil filter with that specific number from dealership.
5. tyre pressure matters a lot. i have been using 29-30 psi but when went through manual i found that recommended pressure is even higher. With 32 psi pressure, 0W20 oil as per my experience
a) in relatively moderate season in which AC wasn't required i traveled around 650 km with average 80 km/h speed (zindagi say bezaar ho k koi bohat hi thakay huye banday ki tarah pedal pay paon rakha hua tha) and i ended up with 32.4 km/h. or hum pakistani agay foran puchtay hen k petrol wali hai ya meter wali :D so, it was petrol wali in a single fill up of 27 litre tank. 32.4 is exaggerated figure but the reason to mention it is to realize the people that with recommended oils, pressure, spark plugs, routine maintenance and most importantly banday k putron wala soft foot (:D) in Alto JDM can potentially help in achieving not exactly 37 as claimed by suzuki japan but 30+ even in pakistan.
b) recent trip from islamabad to toba tek singh which i have done with bigger tyre size (MAXXIS 165-65-13) as compared to previous one (Bridgestone 155-65-13) with full AC, 3 adults, full saaz o saman, kept speed around 120 and above throughout the journey except salt range and i got 20 average at the end of the day.
Based on my personal experience, i'll always recommend to go for JDM if one is looking for Alto.

As in the comments section some people are reporting this issue.. I have booked this car. Therefore, you are requested to advice me. What should I do? Should I change the oil before driving ?
Hello Javed.
Basically the decrease in mileage or pickup is placebo effect. There can only be increase in pickup immediately and after driving on 0w20 for good 2000km avg improves aswell. Bear in mind the manufacturer recommends only 0w20 engine oil for this engine.

Awesome info bro. I have JDM alto 2015, with CVT transmission and 114,000 km on it. Not sure when was the last time the transmission oil was changed.... so I intend to change it. Suzuki recommends their Green 2 CVT oil, which I can't seem to find anywhere. Any recommendations on where to get the oil/ know any decent professional mechanics who can do the job right? I've heard lots of stories where people's transmissions have been damaged post oil change, so really wanna make sure the job is done correctly. Thanks.

When this car was launched in Pakistan back in April'19, Pak Suzuki Marketing Head said during an interview that we have tweaked down the engine a bit so that it can perform well with the Pakistan's petrol which is mostly around RON 90. Hence this engine is producing 39 Horsepower instead of 54. The manual says 39 horsepower as well. The website is saying 29kW which when converted to hp is 39. This could change the oil specifications for the engine as well.
But you're saying that they have installed the engine as it is and haven't made any changes. Is there any source behind this information? If yes, pls share it.
Nops there is no source ... Local alto produce 39 hp and japanese car produces 54 hp... That's a huge difference. So stick with 10w40 semi synthetic or fully synthetic
@@asfand6505 Yup I'm sticking with 10w40 and it's fine so far. Getting around 22.5 avg. My car's giving me same avg on AC or without AC. The signature Alto engine noise(which everyone's complaining about) started reducing after 12000 kms. Now my car is almost 18000 kms and there is no engine noise at all. I think it has more to do with running of the car.
U won't feel any power difference in JDM alto and pkdm alto in driving. And what do u think that these donkeys of pak Suzuki can tweek the 660cc alto engine for local fuel when they don't even knew which grade of gear oil should be used in it's gear. Sick with JDM oil specifications if u care for ur car.

liquid moli is expensive. i have been using total quartz 9000 and it is available in almost same price. if i recall it correctly, pak suzuki adopted the same oil with their own tag.

very good and logical information, thanks for sharing your experience. however i have a query, i have suzuki alto JDM 2010 model, my engine run is 110300. i have started to get some noise, knocking and also some engine oil reduction issues, i have searched and found on most of the blogs and sites and i have read that for high mileage cars 100000+ recommended oi is 10W40 or 20W50. so what's your advise for me should i also try 0W20 as recommended for Japanese cars, or 10W40 or 20W50 for 100K+ engines ??

I just talked with a expert mechanic who told that aur flow mechanism of Pakistani Alto's engine is different with JDM alto as Pak Suzuki has increased it's air flow to cop up with local fuel issues and also removed vvti resultantly it's horse power descreaed from 54hp to 39hp. So we should'nt use 0w20 engine oil in it now? What's ur opinion about it?
Continue using 10w40 or 5w30. In my experience, 5w30 gives less noise and better fuel economy.

Its a useless add on, never wash the engine bay with water if you do, cover all electronic components with a plastic bag first.

You engine seals might get leacked. Check to honda dealer as soon as possible before it too late. Make sure u have 2.7 litter engine oil in ur car...
You should stick to user manual which said 10w40 is recommended oil for thus car. Go for semi synthetic or full synthetic but after 20k km switch to 10w40 before than u can use 5w30 for first 20k km

Salam Abdullah, i saw your facebook post but thought its more appropriate to reply you on your youtube comment.
Petrol avg increases with 0w20 since there is less stress on engine. You might have refueled the car from a different pump which has bad fuel causing low avg. calculate it manually for a month wheneve ryou refill full tank of petrol, you will see the difference. Also 0w20 is not magic, after using 10w40 you switched to 0w20 so wait for 1000-15000km to show results.

I bought the same rim 13 inch for 800 rupees and same used tyre in good condition for 1000 rupees but the issue is there is no space in trunk for that so I keep it behind the driving seat.

Not necessarily. Kuch khaas faida nahi, high performance car nahi hai. Dully synthetic engine oil 0w20 will do a great job on its own

Dear Mr. Very informative video n i have driven 1000 km i also checked from suzuki he recommended to me kindly plx change your engine oil after three month bcz i can't cross 5k km so plz suggest when i can change engine oil after three month or 5 month

Mera mehran non stop drive main like motorways pr almost 25% engine oil reduce kr deti thy. Now using petromin 10w40 working fine

Is both part number are same ? The same I will get Suzuki showroom

Brother very informative video. In morning when i start my alto vxl and try to shift its gear on position D, it looks like harder than routine. So should i change gear oil according to grade u recommended. Also tell r u an automobile engineer?

AoA Bro...u explained everything brilliantly. I have just purchased Alto AGS 2021 model, 21 k km driven, it is suzuki maintained so the mileage is confirmed. I want to ask, should i convert oil to 0w 20 now ? Whereas i completely agree with u regarding recommendation of thick engine oil from suzuki as i had a JDM Suzuki Wagon R , 170k km driven and i was using 5w20 zic fully synthetic, same i am using in my Honda Freed 140k km driven and i am using 0w30 in My Accord CL9 2002 model and 215k km driven. All going great.

what about the engine oil for japanese varient with turbo...same shape alto...which oil shud i use in that ?

I also have alto AGS (Dec-19) it turned 10,000KM and when i went to suzuki workshop for changing gear oil they said it will change on 60,000km as its automatic. Whereas for manual it should change on 10,000KM, please advise.
Thanks for sharing. Since metal shreds in first 10k. its advisable to change at 10k in every car and then every 40-50k.
Aksar BCs ko pata bhi nh hta k AGS and CVT me kia difference hy. Wo to aksar gear oil bhi ATF suggest krty hain.
