What I have learnt from this video is just to be grateful and not be envious of anything. I know how some of us Africans ache to have your texture of hair and know nothing about the struggle of maintaining it.

The old saying is true, "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." It is always easy to want something that someone else has, but we have no idea the struggles that come with it. I also have hair like hers, and it is silky and shiny... perfect right? Yea sure.... as long as you never want to make it keep any curl, or stay up. Pinning my hair up is like pinning water, and I'm really not kidding. The silkiness just slips and slides right back out.. even with gel and pomade!!! And with fine hair, ANY oil on the scalp makes the hair fall very very flat. I wash my hair every other day to keep it very clean so it has just a little bit of volume and bounce. We all have to learn to love what we have.

Girl I feel you I have that typically super baby fine Scandinavian hair. I remember one time my Asian friend (she had super thick coarse straight shiny hair) was braiding my hair and she got so aggravated and she was pulling and I told her to stop cause I could HEAR my hair snapping. She told me my hair was too tangly and too thin and I was HURT. And the best part is that people tell you, “use coconut oil....” is that a JOKE?! Nothing is gonna fix these genes honey 😂😂😂
I had tape-ins and unfortunately it made me lose more hair. And I had to BLOW DRY it everyday cause again just like you my scalp was nasty greasy (worse for me cause I’m a natural blond and blond roots get dirty SO FAST)
This past year I have def had a hair makeover!! Here’s some tips for the modern gal:
    1. Go to the salon and get a BLUNT straight across cut. Girl I can’t tell you how many times these stylists cut layers in my hair. All layers do is thin out the hair and they take 10 years to grow out. Get all one even length!
    2. Instead of blow drying your hair from start to finish, get outta the shower, get dressed, do makeup, then blow dry. You’ll still get a glossy voluminous blow out but less heat.
    3. I have some HOLY GRAIL products that literally have changed my hair game:
    - batiste dry shampoo (actually absorbs oil)
    - aveda thickening tonic (the best hair product, literally makes each strand of hair feel thicker)
    - olaplex!! (Helps split ends!!)
Sorrry this is super super long but I’m PASSIONATE about this topic!! No one ever talks about it cause most girls don’t have this thin of hair. And everyone takes their hair for granted lol . Good luck with your hair ❤️❤️❤️

    • @teknosbeka

I feel you someone cut a bunch of layers in my hair too :( . In the last few years I've been cutting them myself because I don't trust any hairdresser anymore.
I have the same with all the "coconut oil"advices :)
And when you see a 12 minute video titled "how to fix all your hair problems and grow thick healthy long hair" and all it says is "don't use heat and it will be fine" that is just a lie. I have not used any heat on my hair for nearly two years now (I am growing it, but I don't really have patience any more) and it's not much better.

Sára Kuzsner im sorry to hear that! I found a hairdresser that also has thin hair herself and she really understands the struggle and knows how to cut my hair. Sing my hair is so thin in the front, she layers and angles it perfectly around my face. I would suggest finding someone who has the same kinda hair. Some girl with super thick nice hair just won’t know. Best of luck with your hair journey!! I’ve also found that expanding time between washes has improved the health of my hair. 💕

I have the exact same situation with my hair and I wore them long all my life. One day I cut it all short and they lifted and look amazing.
I strongly advise to do that preferably in some french fringe style and I know that doesn't suit everyone and that there are limited things you can do with them later on in terms of hairstyles but like with everything it can't be all positives. And it's easier and quicker to dry if you need to wash them everyday like me. Also I don't use shampoo but wash with conditioners something that makes them stay clean and sleeker for longer time and my scalp is in a better condition than before.

      Hi!
I tell you what saved me :D Try it for yourself:)
      Google "curly girl method"
It is a method designed for curly haired people because curly hair can be really dry and easy to break. It's not a problem if you have bone straight hair, you can try it, but you might find out that your hair is actually more curly than you thought. Eighter way, you can use the method and wear straight hair because fine hair does what you want to do with it. After washing I just brush it gently instead of scrunching up if I want straight, leave it as is if I want wavy and scrunch it if I want curly.
The whole method is about not using sulfates silicones and heat (basically you check the back of the bottle and if you see sulfate, or anything ending with "cone" you put it back on the shelf. you do not have to buy the expensive divacurl stuff)
Wash your hair as little as possible, if your hair gets oily in a day (i have been there, now it lasts a week) train your hair by not washing it for 1 or two days extra. You can get away wearing hats braids and ponytails.

HI. I have fine hair. Try jamaican castor oil: a few drops at night massaged into the scalp and at the ends. Wash as usual in the morning. I like adding lavender essential oil to make the oil smell great.. so thats is a luxurious treatment, not a bother. It thickens the strand , increases hair growths and stops split ends. Its amazing :) You will love this!

I am so glad I’ve found out about Victorian era rag curls. Doing it that way, and sleeping on them is the only way my hair stays curled without hair spray. Because of how thin my hair is, I don’t like to use heat on it at all, or products like hairspray. When I was young I damaged my hair super bad! My mom also has quite a bit of hair loss now because of all the perms and styling she does.

I have found that using “pure corn starch” baby powder, in my hair, when I go between washing my hair, helps my hair look thicker, fuller and styled, better than the day I wash my hair and style it! The pure corn starch is what makes this such an amazing help for your hair, if you need to or would like to go a few days to a week, without washing your hair! And your hair will look even better than when you first wash it!
There are a few things I will point out about this though, so it doesn’t look like you have anything in your hair!
You can do this within 5 minutes, probably not even reading the rest of what I say, but I just wanted to be as thorough as possible, for you, if you want to read on.... 🙂
Tip #1 The biggest tip is make sure it is pure corn starch baby powder, not just baby powder or whatever!
Tip #2 Do this before you dress for the day. Or cover your cloths with a towel before putting in your hair.
Tip #3 Sprinkle a little bit of corn starch baby powder into your hands and move it around in your hands, coating your open palms 🤲 this will help prevent too much of the powder at once and making your hair look like you have powder in your hair or aged instantly looking like gray hair!
Tip #4 Flip your head down, and first lightly run your fingers, then hands through your hair, from the back of your neck, up behind your ears, gently through your hair to your scalp, then sprinkle a little more into your hands, rub into your palms of your hands(again, your open hands 🤲 should look lightly dusted, not poured on powder to avoid too much). Then run your fingers through the front of your hair, gently toward your scalp, and gently running your fingers toward your scalp, very lightly with your fingers only, massage toward your scalp again, from back of hair toward sides, and front( all while hair is flipped over, looking down.
Tip #5 Avoid putting on ends of your hair, where hair isn’t where it’s needle and can unnecessarily dry out ends. Instead, you should have little bit at a time massaged toward your scalp, where oil would be. The corn starch powder absorbs the oil and helps your hair not only look clean, but you now will have body in your hair! Your hair will look thicker, fuller and style better than you could ever before! This is great for thin hair!!!
Tip #6 with flipped over hair first, gently brush through your hair, to your scalp, and then flip your hair back standing up straight, looking in a mirror, brush through your the front of your hair, and all over, from underneath to however you normally would brush your hair. Check around your beck, ears, forehead for any tiny amount of powder, your can just rub it in and if you’ve been careful to not use too much, this corn starch baby powder amazingly rubs in so nicely (better than regular powder) but if you want to, you can take a moist edge of a washcloth and go over your neck, ears and face. If you notice you need to do this, you might have used too much, so check through your hair, running your hands through your hair around scalp, like you’re barely touching, but massaging around scalp, this is only if you notice under good lighting in the mirror that you can see any excess powder! If so massage, brush, use your hands all through your hair from scalp outward, through all your hair.
    * I am sure this looks like too much of a long, drawn out thing to do! It’s not!! It’s just that I am trying to be as thorough as possible! Most important thing is use “pure corn starch” baby power! It is the curb starch that is smooth and doesn’t fly all over like regular baby powder. You can go days using this trick, and amazingly, your hair will look better each day that goes by, easier to fold your style, you will have fuller, thicker looking hair that might not even need anything but gently running your fingers through or brushing and your good to go for the day! I use to wash my hair every day and couldn’t stand not to have clean hair, because my hair like Anna said, hers is, thin, and tends to get oily( well less now the older I get), but I tell you this is better than dry shampoo or anything else, in fact, like I said, your hair will look better days after, even a week by using this, and if you need to or want to wash your hair fewer times, ( it’s actually better for your hair, especially if your hair is color treated etc.)! Just a little reapplying each day, only if needed, but it’s so easy, it only takes 5 minutes if that! Let me know how it works for you if you try it! 🙎‍♀️🙎🏽‍♀️🙎🏻‍♀️ If you have darker hair, again just make sure you rub corn starch baby powder all into your hands, before running your fingers through your hair, lightly parting your hair with your fibers spread out toward your scalp, very gently massage and brush through your hair. Hope this helps!

Thank you for this video and sharing your hair struggles so openly and being vulnerable about it, Anna. It really isn't easy having these issues and trying one's utmost to look and feel your best everyday. To some extend I can relate - I have thin hair, but lots of hair with a natural curl and I understand the greasiness and need to wash my hair everyday. So a tip that works really well to combat the daily washing, is to sprinkle some unscented baby powder to my roots and brush/blend it in with my hands. It has the same and even better effect than dry shampoo and is a much cheaper solution! Adding baby powder to your hair significantly reduces the amount of washes per week. Hope this helps.☺💆🏼💁🏼💚🌿

You literally verbalised all of my issues that i’ve been dealing with for so long. Our hair type and length is exactly the same and i’ve been using extensions for many years. I love volume and thus it takes ages to give my hair a proper blow dry. In spite of that, i never considered lessening the amount of my extensions cuz they already lessen and gets rough as the time goes by. I see my hairstylist at least once in 3 or 4 weeks for my roofs&extensions . In between days if my hair gets problematic, i make a natural hair mask and STRONGLY believe that it makes a huge difference. Add some lavender oil to yellow part of the egg. Mix it and apply to your roots Anna. The nourishment and volume is gonna be amazing! I know egg smells terrible but lavender oil can really compensate for it. If you can wait approximately 40 min with mask, you will see the difference as soon as you washed it.i’m a platinum blonde for several years and even my hair started to grow!

I'm sure you've experienced this. Hah! As IF I never got a clue... 😐 I had the capacity to do the hairstyles, but the results never looked like they were done right because genetics. If you're overweight and your face is big, your hair looks even worse proportionally, so gosh, way to make your self-esteem shoot through the roof. 🙄

When kids become adults, they don't just magically start judging others less than before. The healing process starts by realizing that society will never embrace you in this very specific way and it's time to figure out how to hide it. Hang in there. Do what you can. I have tried hair oils, protective styles, different methods...

I work out a lot and sweat, but rinsing my hair in the shower helps the oils from the scalp get distributed throughout the hair follicles. Then I style/blow-dry as usual.
