Finally arriving at Kobe, Kyouya’s mom is revealed to be a normal, doting middle-aged woman, much to Erika’s relief. After spending some time with her at the dinner table, Erika finds out a little more about the kind of mom she is, as well as her closed relationship with Kyouya. While washing dishes afterwards, Kyouya’s sister Reika reveals the details behind Kyouya’s suspicion of love and his mother after she divorced his father, and believes herself to be the cause of why he is the way he is. That night, they try on yukatas in preparation for the summer festival they are attending. Before leaving the next day, Kyouya agrees to tag along after having a change of heart. During the festival, Reika reminisces of all the childhood memories that the various foods and attractions remind her of, with Erika trying to get Kyouya to participate in them, but to no avail. After a small argument in which she pretends to be mad at Kyouya, she walks off to call his mother to set up a plan to get them to meet, but is knocked down by the crowd with her necklace falling off and breaking in the process. After Kyouya and Reika frantically search for her, their mother comes and assists them, finding Erika by the dumpster looking for her necklace. As the fireworks go off, her mother finds the necklace and they all go home. At home, Kyouya and his mother reconcile before he returns to Tokyo with Erika. On the train, he finds Erika looking at childhood pictures and he comes to terms with his memory of the snowman.

The best parts are in the manga though. Kyoya may be a complete jerk in the anime but he turned the other way around in the manga. He actually got so possessive of Erika lol.
Interesting. So he wasnt a jerk at all in the manga or is it that he changed and showed more of a better side?
@@personwithaquestion1800 [spoiler warning] like in the anime, he was all jerk during the early parts of the manga but in the chapters following the anime’s last episode, he slowly changed yet still kept being sassy and all that. But yep, he became possessive of Erika that he wanted everything about her is just him, it’s kinda cute. He actually showed his sweet and caring side too. Got jealous too because of a dude in fact.
@@personwithaquestion1800 I agree with Symon that in the manga, yes, he WAS a jerk to her like we see in the anime early on. But, as the story goes on, he actually becomes quite loving, does try to make her happy and goes through immaculate character development that we don't see in the anime. He even admits to her father that while he can't explain why he fell for Erika, he just knows that he "needs" her in his life. And like Symon said, he does become very possessive of her and one of my favorite scenes is when a guy hits Erika for rejecting him, Kyoya sees it and goes into full-on beast mode on the guy for hitting her.

He was very young...it was a traumatic period in his life..with his parents seperation...his mom chose his sister over him...that's what he felt.. the memory is hazy..all u remember are feelings..fear, abandonment and sadness..the crumbling of snowman was symbolic to his happy family life getting destroyed.
Moreover, he’s staying with his Dad who is a workaholic, so do u think he will be cared fully?
I remember watching this like 3.5 yrs ago? So nostalgic, the background, intro, and ending music. I was so smart for adding anime into my childhood. Now i watch them and cry

Usui is way better!!! I watched that anime before this one (for the twentieth time) and I kept comparing how much better usui is :P he’s just as loyal but he’s also gentle and always looking out for ways to help and protect.. willing to do anything even embarrassing for the sake of Misa.. his onky flaw is him being a pervert but even that, it’s all jokes and not genuine!

okay, so i didn't regret watching it, i spoke too early hahaha, I just wish the anime showed more character development on Kyo (coz I saw comments where the manga expressed it more)

when erika said she wanted to make snowman’s and make them even bigger with him when kyoya said he would destroy them (like his older sister did which is a symbol of their family falling apart) i wanted to cry omggg🥹 AND AT THE END WHEN HE SAID “you have the real thing right here” it just really overpowers all the cruel stuff he did to her in the beginning
