This video paints a really good picture. The contrast of his early years as a banger to the composed and sharpened fighter he became is something to see. I'm no fighter and can't say I've ever had any formal training but anyone who's followed this sport and knows about Robbie can see this.

People say they love bisping finally getting the title. But Robbie was considered a failed prospect. Ten years later he takes the title and defend it twice in fight of the year performances. Robbie was never supposed to reach the heights of the sport. But he did with grit , effort and a never say die attitude. The greatest career resurgence ever.

Popularity has as much to do with trash talk and charisma as it has to do with how good and entertaining the fighter is. Dudes like Lawler, Dustin, Luque, Pedro Munhoz are amazing action fighters who win a lot, but are also like, just chill dudes that fight.
They are not "epic smonk weed gangsta too real" like the Diaz brothers or have some funny quips in an irish accent.

This guy's fights are legendary, he was never in a boring fight. One of my all time favourite fighters to watch for sure. Lawler vs MacDonald 2 was probably the best fight I've ever seen, sadly though, Rory was never the same after that fight.
When Robbie spit blood at Rory after having his ass handed to him for that sequence it gave me chills
at his peak, one of the most savage fighter the octagon has ever seen, his championship run will always be legendary

One of my favourite fighters. Robbie is a true fighter, no nut hugging, no playing it safe for the UD/SD, just a straight up savage.
He reminds me of hands of stone Roberto Duran, Robbie Lawler is one of my all time favorites he represents fighting at it best, Blood,Guts and determination. There`s no dull moments when he steps into the octagon and if your paying to see him fight you get your monies worth that`s for sure. The fight with Macdonald was what people come to see nothing boring when them two step into the octagon, them two together is a show for all times. Great video.
