By the way, the rubber grips on the bottom ARE so it doesn't slide when stood up. The case has a stand that works with the grips.

Thank you! I've watched over half dozen CZcams videos and yours is the first and only one to show it operating in portrait mode. Other reviewers seem to be unaware of this capability. So I started to assume that it's landscape mode only. Also, I didn't know that it had fingerprint recognition either. Your video is the most technically dense and specification rich video I've seen.
It’s such a shame they don’t make these readily available in my country. It’s kinda tempting, not as a tablet (I already have iPad) but more of as a hub, semi-permanently docked at home.

Pixel tablet is good but we do wish it had face unlock. Also, some nice but unrealistic persons want the Pixel tablet to have a display refresh rate typically found on $800 tablets.
The Google Fold Phone is not even out yet lol and I'm digging the Sonic painting as well

After watching a few of the Pixel Tablet "first day" videos I've come to realize that those little notches at the bottom are not grips. They are definitely bumpers for when you miss the magnetic lineup of the docking station. Nobody brought it up in the videos, it was just accidentally apparent when I saw Marques Brownlee karate chop his into a table a couple times.

Hey Tim - Thank you for the reveal and your initial thoughts. I know its a new product and all but I think I'm a little dissapointed,. My Pixel Slate tablet looked better. This just reminded of a Google Nest Hub Max with a portable screen (kinda boring). It seems like a device for the sake of having a device to offer in the Google table product line. I'm still not sure the use case for this device unless its their version of an iPad Mini or a Kindle Fire and based on the look, does it mean the Nest Hub Max will be retired in favor of this tablet moving forward? Thanks again for being a true nightowl and posting this so early. Hope you have a great day ahead.
The Kindle fire max 11 and Apple Ipad 10th gen design looks nicer then this though and with 5 years of updates compared to 3. It's time for Google to wake up I feel like I am looking at Motorola 2.0 with bad updates.

I just bought this and an extra dock not realising it came with one included. Never mind now have a dock in the bedroom as well as the kitchen. Can you help me with managing this alongside the Pixel 7 Pro phone? When i say Hey google currently my phone answers. How do i switch it to make the tablet or dock answer? At night i want my bedroom dock to answer, during day kitchen dock etc. If out then the phone to answer.

3:43 I know you probably can’t test this… but can you see if the Google Home software can run any of the authentications or if it’s separate software and doesn’t run all the works with google add ons.
I’m specifically wondering about the ADT integration, but there are tons of current integrations and I wonder if you have to use a different app or if you still use the google home app on this.
9:20 so it looks like it doesn’t use Google Home app at all. Does Google Assistant also work with “works with google” software?

Fantastic love the tablet was so looking forward untill you findout the Dock is Just a Dumb speaker charging dock, you cannot cast to it it only plays audio when the tablet is docked. Also the dock is overpt £130 that ridiculous especially the sound quality is allegedly only slightly better than the nest mini and does not have cast it should be more like 50 bucks not over 130.

Looks like a sub-$200 AliExpress tablet with a Google logo, shame they start at £600 in the UK. The $499 US pricing I could just about forgive, if I squint really hard after a few stiff drinks, but the European pricing is just madness, indicating Google doesn't want to sell many of these outside of the USA.
That a good price especially considering you get the dock in the box too.
@@ravitejakntsit's literally built on budget hardware, save the SOC, which is midrange. The hardware in the dock is the same as the $50 Nest speaker. This tablet has no right costing more than the Pixel 7a, let alone 25% more...
As much as I was gonna get a Pixel tablet I'm still good with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, too bad Samsung didn't come up with a Wireless Charging yet......

Hi is it worth getting a Google pixel tablet if you already have a iPad?
This thing is absolutely horrible. I cannot believe basic apps like FOX Sports does not work on the pixel. Also, Tablo, which I use exclusively for my over the year TV doesn’t work at all. I’m returning it.
Was looking forward to buying it until i read its G2 instead of G3.

I love google
It's a mediocre tablet at best from a Google pixel phone user....
- 3 years of software updates
- Outdated case design compared to the aluminium design from Samsung, Apple and even Amazon's kindle fire max 11
- A hub based stand that no one will use in my opinion
It looks nice and the software is nice but apart from that its eeh.....
You get more bang for the buck using something from Apple or Samsung and a updated design that again doesn't look like its something from 2008.
