Roma were looking like their old self. Callous miss passes and clearances, desperate mindless tackles, forwards isolated and MIA, Dybala forced to come deeper and deeper to get the ball because no one will pass it to him.
They were extremely lucky to get a point. De Rossi's tactics were bizarre in that first half.

Indeed. In fact, i would argue he's partially responsible for the first goal. If you look closely at 0:19 , the ball was coming HIS way, and yet he just flinches and moves away instead of clearing it. What a mess.
He wasn't alone in that regard, but he was very poor.

And in that tournament Roma had the largest revenue thus should have been considered favourites to win. How the conference league is touted as a major achievement for a team with Roma's revenue is beyond me. The Coppa Italia and top 4 in serie A are both require beating teams with higher revenue than CL thus more prestigious. For a coach to be at Roma for 3 years with such a poor points record, a borderline unwatchable anti-Roma playing style, and having nearly every player bar Dybala regress under him warrants my earlier comment.
Let De Rossi have his first full season before you start ranting.🙂
