Clogged pool line no match for Smitty's Pool Cannon

- Our pool pump has been performing poorly for a while. We had a maintenance company check it out, and they confirmed it was, indeed, clogged but were unable to fix it. Enter: Pool cannon.
We won't fully know if this worked until the spring, but I'm hopeful!

I cleared my main pool drain by using my air compressor and a drain bladder I bought at Home Depot to clean out clogs. I got some garden hose fittings with with connector that had a valve. I put everything together, wore eye protection. I inserted the bladder in the main return connection at the pump side valve. I slowly introduce air into the tube in short intervals to build up pressure, while keeping the bladder in place. I had visual contact with the main drain and after a couple of minutes got bubbles. I then airlocked it and problem resolved thank goodness.
In regards to this video. You should work from the equipment side. Good chance if you work from skimmer side you would push clog dimmer in my humble opinion, but I'm not a professional.

Did it work? I didn’t see any debris come out at the pump. Was it a pump side obstruction or skimmer side?
wonder why all the 'experts' say to push the debris causing the clog out by applying pressure (bladder; co2 etc) from the pump....the idea being you don't have far for the debris to travel that way....vs applying pressure at the skimmer and forcing the debris to travel out thru the pump....not to mention the 90s it has to get by
I agree. The skimmer line got clogged as the debris moved through the skimmer toward the pump. The best chance to move the clog out is back towards the opening it came in from.
The pressure should be applied from the pump pot back toward the skimmer.
Because it can get stuck further down the line. If it came through the skimmer, it can fit back out.
What psi did you charge the cannon up to?
