- Once ridiculed for carrying their musical instruments around their high school, Eslabon Armado has captivated hearts with their emotionally-charged melodies, sensational collaborations and TikTok virality.
The group joined Power 106's Brown Bag Mornings, sharing insight on peaking at the top of music charts with their collaboration with Peso Pluma, upcoming tour dates, as well as obstacles and inspirations as they become a sensation in the regional Mexican music scene.
Pedro Tovar, the group's lead singer, talked about how the inclusion of Ulises and Damian played a significant role in the evolution of Eslabón Armado's sound into a more modern version of Mexican regional music taking the music industry by storm.
During the interview, Tovar spoke about the obstacles in releasing their latest project, “Desvelado,” and how it differs from their previous albums. He also made a point to point out that the first song on any album holds a special place, as it sets the tone for the entire musical journey.
“I kind of wanted to do the same thing I did with ‘Nostalgia,'” said Tovar. “The first song was ‘Vete a la Fregada,’ and this one, ‘Quien es El’ is kind of like, I wouldn’t say a part two, but it's almost similar. I wanted to do the first one, that one because it hits the beginning.”
Tovar spoke about how performing in Los Angeles has become a yearly tradition for Eslabón Armado, as the city embraced their music, making it a favorite destination for the band. Each year, their audience grows, and the venues become more significant.
“In 2021, we performed at the Microsoft Theater,” said Tovar. “In 2022 at the Toyota Arena and then this year, the Crypto.”
With Eslabon Armado’s rise in popularity in part thanks to their song, “Jugaste y Sufri'' gaining TikTok virality, "Baila Sola," a song initially intended for the album, also gained immense popularity when Tovar posted a teaser on TikTok. The fans' overwhelming response prompted an immediate release, and the song quickly went viral, solidifying Eslabón Armado's place in the hearts of a new generation of regional Mexican music enthusiasts.
“I posted a snippet on my story, and then two days after, it just goes viral everywhere.”
During the interview, Letty confessed to googling the meaning of "Eslabón," with Tovar revealing that the band name was chosen by his father back in 2017. The phrase, which translates to “armed link,” serves as a testament to the band's authenticity, solid one-piece mentality and personal connection with their craft.
Eslabón Armado continues to gain momentum through musical collaborations, even claiming they manifested their recent song with Puerto Rican reggaeton star Jhayco. By consistently working with other up-and-coming artists like Danny Lux and Grupo Frontera, they demonstrate the value of the comradery that comes with joining forces with fellow musicians.
One of the band's driving forces is the desire to bring the culture associated with regional Mexican music back into the mainstream. Though initially inspired by artists like Ariel Camacho, the brothers chose the corrido tumbado route to express the intricacies of love and heartbreak.
“We went to what was new [at] the moment,” said Tovar. “Like Natanael Cano, Junior H, Fuerza Regida. They were new to the moment and the music was hitting, so I was like, ‘I'm gonna stick to that.’”
Eslabón Armado's ultimate goal is to keep growing as a group and remain relevant in the ever-changing music industry. With teens and young adults reclaiming and exploring their roots, Eslabón Armado can definitely make a dent in the revived version of regional music and become cultural icons.
You can stream Eslabón Armado’s new album, “Desvelado,” across all music platforms and purchase tickets for their July 15th Crypto.com Arena show through Ticketmaster.com.

When people try to ridicule others, it is them projecting their own insecurities on others. Write that song.
He did. I think what he dove in to was ideal logical. Those that don’t mind stepping on others were on PP; non bootlickers understand Pedro’s concern but I’d tell Pedro to have “long term focus” pero que onda - end of the day we’re not making that money so.
EDIT: that’s what your short sighted ass meant right? He wrote the ducking song that made Jimmy’s F “no sabo English” as staff (cuz you know it was a nopal in the frente but not knowing Spanish is whose on that lot) but THEYRE to blame.
MFer EA from 209 - would’ve been a lot to this area. They would start to believe you know? Ni modo.
Also from the 209. Max fucking disrespectful. Our area doesn’t understand what our youth is into. They don’t understand how many transplanted and why… pregunta Al Hasan.

Eslabon is the Simps of the Mexican Regional genre…. THIS IS WHAT I DONT CARE ABOUT.
Wheres Junior H?
fr i want to see junior h on here the REAL GOAT.
people dont know but junior h is the most innovating of this movement too and hes consistent too his album could have no skips. EA makes a few good songs at best
Junior H is meh, they only have a few bangers, not bad not good
They have no friends bc of how they did PP, that was not the way to handle it....cry on tik tok, publicly en el gordo flaca, and creating drama....if they had issues they should of handled it in private... who is gana want to collab w problematic artists like them??? knowing anything bothers they they will go public & be dramatic??....& it's a shame cuz they are very talented just problematic personalities....& they have a record they have had issues w more ppl PP was not the first so it's like a pattern unfortunately cuz they could be bigger rn
Peso Pluma should have did the right thing to begin with.
@@robertflores9515 Think what you want.....At the end of the day PP has more fans & more ppl backing him up for a reason......ER has had drama w many ppl, PP wasn't their first so....I support him cuz he's Mexican but that doesn't mean the way he handled shi & made public dramam was ok...same w JOP.....the numbers tell you everything
@BlancaFlores-pr5wy Yeah well we'll see who has the longer carrer lol
The cry baby of the music industry 😂
They make good music but they’re crybabies
