    This interview goes against everything I am, I'm naturally introverted and objective, I'm not one for stories at all, I state the facts because I hate small talk. I feel this type of interview only benefits people who talk a lot or are extroverted.

    • @jbeave67
      @jbeave67 Před 6 lety +21

      Not at all. I'm introverted myself and this is far from small talk. This is just to cover what you did and how. There is no need to embellish and drag it on. Be clear, concise, and be done. Again, there is no need to drag it out and a story is actually a terrible thing to call it. If someone tells me a long, drawn out story for every question, I'm probably not going to hire them.

    • @DayWatch
      @DayWatch Před 5 lety +5

      i don't think you watched the video very carefully? you are supposed to state facts but in a way that makes you look good. in general, all job interviews will require you to talk to some extent so if you have real big issues with talking/speaking you might need some other type of training

      I'm an ambivert leaning more towards introversion but I enjoy telling stories to people who are interested and only if they're good listeners. However, I loathe this style of interviewing. I have a technical interview coming up and the first hour is this STAR method. I'm stressed out already!

    • @1osmit
      @1osmit Před 3 lety +2

      Trust me, its way worse if you get and introverted interviewer, you answer a question and they just stare at you, no verbal or body-feedback from their side(like nodding), so you don't know if they are satisfied or not, if you should go into more detail or not, it throws you off

    Hi!
    1- Please I have one question if they ask you: During when you work in office, you see your friend there what you're gonna do : greet him and finish your work ? Or ignore him like he is not there and finish your work? Or greet him and tell him he is not allowed to be there during work and he needs to be outside waiting for you outside ???Thank you.
    2- Please, I have one more question :
    If you are busy in your work and you did not finish yet your tasks during your shift work , what to do in this situation ? Is do it faster even it will be a mess and many mistakes in your job ?? Or finish your job even it will be overtime than your schedule ?? Thank you for your time.

    Use CAR - Context, Action & Result. It is more concise & effective. STAR felt more verbose, and S&T sometimes sounded the same. CAR on the other hand leads to targeted discussion.

      ALWAYS have an answer. Use every opportunity to showcase your best skills. Take a situation that is similar, even if it's a stretch, and apply the skills you know they are fishing for. Be creative if necessary, but make sure it truly showcases your REAL problem solving skills.

    • @bluex217
      @bluex217 Před 5 lety +5

      @Sue Santin ALWAYS having an answer just isn't ALWAYS realistically possible. It's impossible to prep for every question that could be asked. If you're there for 10+ seconds trying to think of or even make up a story, then it just isn't going to happen. You could ask to return to the question, but you'll probably not think of something in between struggling with other questions..
