I have the Bose Sound Bar 900 and the bass module 700 and let me tell you, these two rock it out the park! I also have the Sony ST5000 7.1.2 sounder and i like the overall performance of the Bose 900 over the Sony one.

Thank you for your comments, my video is for people to save money and not waste it on a fancy case thinking they have something new. 😃 spend that money on something that matters the most. Sound will not change much and as we get older we just become used to it. Sound is great on the older sound bars. Hi, thank you for watching my Video, I would not be too keen on removing the glass as it’s glued on however I can suggest a much cheaper and easier solution. Just have the glass wrapped or do it your self with a clear matt film. Very easy and same finish as sand blasted. I recently purchase the 900 as I "upgraded" from the SD 300. The improvements are subtle but the software for the 900 is so much better. You have much more control over the overall experience. Also it seems to play louder at similar volume settings, is it worth the premium? Probably not. It's better but not revolutionarily better for the leap in price. I can't justify the cost for HT-9's as Spatial Sound Mapping technology is future of home theater. The fact that Sonos has just released new speakers using similar tech points into that direction. I fully expect Bose to answer back.

I’m looking at purchasing my first Bose sound bar. I’m looking at the 600 and 900. The 900 and bass module 700 are about 1k while the 600 and bass module 500 are $800 Would you recommend spending the extra $200 for the 900? Or just stick with the 600z

Thanks for the teardown. So there are no side firing speakers on the 900? I always thought there were side firing drivers below the up firing drivers on the 900. Especially since the have a grill covering on the sides, makes you think they are bouncing sound off the walls for faux-surround sound.

@@dxbpower Dolby Atos is a short lived technology like Dolby HD or Dolby THX or SRS, all these sound improvments don’t live for long as the movies made do not support the decoding only the amp trys to deliver the effects. Dolby Pro Logic has been around for years and years, 5.1, 6.1. 7.1. 9.1. Plus all these new sound enhancments have licenses the manufacterers do not want to pay. Bit like TV’s You have HD, HDR,4k 8K HDR+ Samsung have there own version so there is no set standard every one is here to throw there 2 pennies worth and make money from the name. If you like 650 that will hold its value with time then buy it else any other system will most likely be worth few quid after couple of years. At least with Bose you have people paying decent price to re use them. I can not see Sony, Yamaha , Denon, B&O that will sound good and hold value. Bose is all about compact elegant and quality that feels nice to the ears.

I don’t agree with this but they are following Apple’s update design where users can not stop the updates. It will come down at some point. Personally I hate it. I just want a speaker to play sound and thats it. I do not want any fancy uodates. Also if you power the sound bar off and back on it will do a slient update if it pending. The phone app will show you. The sound also does not show the how high or low the volume level. Poor design. Not sure what bose were thinking. Now they have also disconntinued their best selling Wave Systems. Wonder whats next.
Thank you for watching my channel, Good question, All new TV’s have something call ARC HDMI out, ARC meaning Audio Return Channel. So the sound bar can only be used correctly in that port however once you have used that port on the TV nothing else can be used on it because the sound bar is using it for sound. If you have the old 300 sound bar, you can use the pass through HDMI port from the sound bar to use an addtitiinal device. I would say having the pass through is better because HDMI port is designed to be used for Audio and Video output.
I have the upgraded Bose 300 with the glass top in one room and a cheap $150usd Samsung integrated DVD home theater in the other. The Samsung blows away the Bose. Mainly because it's true 5.1 and the speakers are physically in opposite parts of the room. Sorry. You just can't simulate that with one box. Also for the price of that Bose, they could've installed a digital display, so you don't have to guess what a bunch of random blinking lights mean. The Samsung has a better remote and is much easier to use.
@@hamptonchivasa that is the Sound touch 300 old model. Bose have messed up all the model numbers. Which is exactly the reason I made this video. A lot of people have’nt got any idea and running to pay crazy prices. The 700 has Alexa and google and the old Sound touch 300 did not, not that I would ever use Alexa from a sound bar anyway.

Then you will also need the surround speakers and bass module. Not worth it, just get the bass module 300 with the 300 sound Touch. Just so you know the bass module 300 is the same as 700. The app will show the 300 as 700. The model numbers are all messed up with bose. The sound is very good with what you already have no need to change.
Correct! It has 9 drivers, but really over all its not something I would pay such a high price given the fact that the old 300 sound touch soundbar has the same layout of drivers and even they are the same drivers. Not every broadcast is dolby atmos. So all I am telling you is if your looking for the best the 900 is not the one. Wait and see what comes next. This is like iphone 13 pro max and iphone 14pro max. Not worth the extra investment.
Thank you for your comments, now there are not many good sound bars out there it’s either Bose or Sonos Play bar, the rest like Sony , LG, Panasonic and Yamaha are not as good. The agree why you would call the 300 dog shit, however it’s not the sound bar its the software. Very poor design. The software can brick your bar and they way to fix it is to connect the sound bar to your PC via the USB service port. Download the firmware update file and push it on the sound bar manually. The reason for this is because if your internet dies during the update which you can’t see any way then say bye bye to the sound bar. Some times factory reset can help. But what I suggest is set the soundbar once it is all playing disable the ip address from the Router so it does not downlaod any updates. The only down side is the app will also not work with the sound bar.
When it comees to sound, it can not become HD, 4K, 8K. Sound has been at it’s best when Dolby Pro logic was released all the other variations ate just there to be different but nothing that would last the way Dolby Pro Logic / DTS have done. Atmos is not for every home where Dolby people can install it because it was just around the walls. Sound bars you just buy the best one and it will be good for years no need to change it.

how to fix the power supply of my sound bar 300 and I did chang the new cable but still no light on ?
This is a know issue, the AC to DC chip is gone, take it to bose to have it fixed.

Because they are both Bose 300 models. One is Sound touch 300 which is the older model and one is smart 300 which is a newer model.

All depends on how you wish to expand your system. I recommnd bose because the service is great Sonos is a lost cause. Good only till it goes wrong.
