I celebrated earth day by recycling the oil in my mower. I put it back in the ground where it came from. Now future generations can pump it out and reuse it.
I wonder if Earth Day was considered to be the solution to the concept of the poem "The Wasteland". In reality, it is only a partial solution to the problem the author of the Wasteland, T.S. Elliott wrote about. He was writing about an overall problem with the human race, related to Greed, Lust and Anger and an overall lack in humans, that eventually could turn the Earth into a Wasteland. There are a lot more examples of the problem with the human race, that were written into many stories of Hemingway, Hawthorne, Fitzgerald, Faulkner and other authors. Shockingly, the concept of the, human caused Wasteland, was even in the movie, "Wonder Woman".
Well today was Holocaust day. I call it that because Earth day is the day when thousands, perhaps millions, of People cause the death of thousands perhaps millions of baby birds and animals. To celebrate earth day, which is in the height of nesting season, by going out in large numbers into wooded areas, making a lot of noise, often bringing their dogs, to play, to manicure the forests. This scares the baby birds and other animals out of their nests where, if their dogs don't kill them, other predators will. You want to pretend the forest is your garden, do it in November or, better yet, not at all.

Greenhouse gas behavior is only active in earth's greenhouse effect that takes place within 20 meters of the surface after which inferred electromagnetic radiation from the surface is considered to have been completely absorbed by greenhouse gas molecules and further heat conduction is by convection i.e. gas molecules bumping into to each other. The UN IPCC climate change reports use vague language and sampling greenhouse gases only at 20 thousand meters altitude where water vapor is near zero to mislead politicians that human caused noncondensing greenhouse gases are a cause of global warming. Here's a concept, give back more than 1 day to the Earth? We use up Mother Earths renewable resources within the first 6 months or so of the year, the math isn't adding up.
People are lazy and don’t recycle correctly. It costs money to recycle. The only way this works is to actually throw money at it. Look at programs elsewhere that really work. Instead money is being thrown at specialty groups and activists that do not benefit all. I am sick of the waste of money for stupid stuff instead of practical stuff. That means electric vehicles. They are not practical yet. No infrastructure, not enough materials for batteries, and cold weather and heavy loads leave them dead. Blanket rules with no thought to how it actually will function is our biggest problem.
