If you ever feel useless just remember Joey had a kick drum that was there purely to look at
@Micah aesthetics. It's much easier to tune just one bass drum than make 2 bass drums sound exact the same.
Practically every double bass live setup is the same.

The reason is because it's easier for micing purposes or something like that. Ray Luzier of Korn does the same thing. Only reason 2 are up there, because it looks cool.
@@jaredklock8754 no so much micing, but getting the sound the same. As bass drums are filled with cushions to get them to sound decent, it’s incredibly hard to get them to sound the same, and when doing double bass patterns, it’s pretty darn obvious when one is off. The options are use electronic triggers or use one bass drum.
There are loads of drummers that have two kicks and they both sound good. There is just a different feel of playing one kick with a double pedal or two kicks with separate pedals. All about personal preferences.
End of the day, if it makes the drummer play / sound better im all for it.

Nothing I hate more than seeing the slave pedal connecting rod peeking out between two kicks onstage. I personally like seeing what the second foot is doing and it's so annoying when it's obstructed for no other reason than looking "cool."

Joey was a musician that was truly dedicated to his fans it's a shame Slipknot had to treat him the way they did when he got sick with all his dedication to that band. Never forgive or forget.....I know I'm not the only one that will never go see a slipknot concert over again.

Not only that but they just really, really changed sounds. Good on them, but a lot of it sounds the same to me now.
They lost their identity after AHIG I think... I´m more like a fan from the first two albums, but that´s my feeling.

@@DemonDog444 what he did for this entire scene grants him the title of legend, I’m talking about his drumming skill, I’m talking about his influence, without him slipknot wouldn’t have had the success they have today, he inspired several generations to pick up the sticks of the guitar, and most of these drummers are world class drummers now at days…

On this tour he was mic’ing them, even when they are triggering them I’m pretty sure they also mic them. In any case, it’s also for the aesthetic.

How did you bolt the floor toms and kicks to the floor? You stated in the other video that the drums stay bolted to the riser, even for transportation. That is what I want to do....set my kit up once, and then she never comes back down. I use cymbal stands though, so how do I stop them from moving on the riser? I would love to know how they got Tommy Lee's cymbal and tom stands from moving on the first kit that went upside down. No video on how that was achieved, and the floor is solid...not metal grate like on recent gigs and Joey's kit here. Any advice on that?
