Mima's theme. ...OMG, DID YOU HEAR MIMA WAS CONFIRMED FOR THE NEW GAME!? ...No? That's 'cause she wasn't~.
It's fitting for someone with a theme called "Reincarnation," whose role as a vengeful spirit is to seek "return," to be associated with a fandom joke about "needing to return." Who knows, maybe she has already taken new form and appeared somewhere? I wrote this thinking of how bits of her old character already echo through the new canon: through Marisa's spell cards and astronomical motifs, certain familiar plot elements... In the end, Mima is most fun to imagine as someone who is always haunting behind the scenes.

@Heather Holbrook MY guess is that Mima is currently either Locked away in hell (which would mean she has a non-zero chace of appearing as probably a ex/maybe a new bonus stage boss i WBaWC) or Reimu finally managed to figure out how to seal Mima for more than two seconds
About the shrine being haunted
I think it was referring to kana more than it was referring to mima lol

Mima is the pure embodiment of vindictiveness and malice, no matter how nicely she acts, or feel, on a daily basis. It's fitting for her to continue to haunt the Touhou franchise even after being purged in the Windows era where nothing is taken too seriously by any character.

Interesting Mima fact from your local Akasha resident: Mima was given a Pseudo backstory in DiPP. She is mentioned to be a girl who lives in a western mansion deep in the forest of magic who visited the village. Sounds an awful lot like Marisa eh? The text also mentions something interesting: the narrator claims this lady(Mima) had a daughter. They look so much alike they must he family. So in gives some leeway to think Marisa is Mima's daughter. Kinda makes Marisa seem sadder since she is literally walking the path that got her mom killed.

yeah the sprites in touhou 1 were often rather intricate (by 199x standards) and abstract/wierd compared to future games. the worst part with mima is due to a potential graphics oversight, when doing one of her attacks, she gains a third arm wince it never gets rid of the arm with the knife for the knife swinging animation

Around 1:07, at the section after "Spin for me, spin for me," the melody and the supporting vocals produced a certain kind of dissonance that somewhat reminded me of Attack of Titan's "Yuugure no Tori," which gave me terrifying chills, which speaks about how good this rendition is.
It's amazing. Since this was created two years before Yuugure no Tori, it somewhat makes me feel bad that the older song reminded me of the younger one :(

And the lines "this knife is the edge of a journey new / one life would be far too short, far too few" go really hard because because surgeries are key milestones in many of our transition journeys, and the lives we were assigned to live based on the external characteristics we presented when we were born are not worth living (re: transgender suic1de rate) -- since having started testosterone, my nihilistic thoughts have diminished, and my most recent instance, I felt the desire to fight, to keep going, to bust my ass to survive, because my life is worth living now. I am finally becoming -- reincarnating as -- the true me I have only been able to be in dreams, or vicariously through OCs. I am experiencing for the first time the happiness cis people have experienced their entire lives. The corners of my mouth perpetually curl up now. The morning after my first testosterone administration, I felt like I was feeling the sunlight for the first time after fifteen years spent in a cold, dark cave (I started growing breasts fifteen years ago). Using context given by Symposium of Post-mysticism and Foul Detective Satori about the sheer danger posed by vengeful spirits towards youkai, my theory about Mima is that her decision to become a god in her Mystic Square extra ending led to her being permanently ended by Yukari, without Reimu or Marisa's knowledge since neither could be trusted to do this job, as a pre-emptive intervention before this vengeful spirit's new ambitious path made her too powerful to contain.
Yes, I've concluded that she was simply obliterated mere moments after her last appearance by the one who aggressively maintains Gensokyo's order. Sue me.

Normally I'm not one for 2 things. The music in the phantasmagoria games, and the PC-98 era. but I am in love with this song! Personally I believe while it's not direct reincarnation, I get the feeling Sanae has some sort of inspiration from Mima, and was meant to be ZUN's way of bringing her back to the modern era... Shame most people hate the wind priestess, (speak of the devil I know you don't take requests but God I hope to eventually hear something of Faith is for the transient people sorry) Either way I get the feeling She's fallen farther than just a spirit. RIP Mima, of course I could be wrong and ZUN has plans to bring her back behind our backs...

Odd Wright ? What's with it? That whole bit is playing on the metaphor of an "orrery": a model of the solar system, as seen in her spell cards. Mima is saying that she will make herself the center of the universe, so that all the planets ("bodies") will orbit around her and her own desires.

That's the question.. So, the current users of the Master Spark or similar are Yuuka, Marisa, Gengetsu, and Mima.
As far as I know, Gengetsu used it because of some dream stuff from Yuuka (similar like when Doremy could use everything in dreams, I guess).
Also, Marisa either copied it from Yuuka or learned it from Mima.. Don't know which one.
But between Yuuka and Mima.. Also, thier sparks have different names. So both may have invented thier own style.

Lyrica Live I'm not that good at it though since I've only started actually making Vocaloid music the other day. I'm currently doing Kogasa's theme. I'll try my very best with it though, so I'm sorry if it'll not be as you'd hope it would! :D
Lyrica Live Also, I've done to part of Kogasa's theme, but Luka's voice doesn't go that low. Well it does but it doesn't sound as low as you do. I'm stuck on "cling to that umbrella so tight."
I've also done part of Sakuya's theme with Luka. The first few parts sound good, but then it sounds like gibberish afterwards. I don't know how to fix this. Do you have the link to the slowed down version you used? Perhaps I can use that instead of trying to make Luka sing _"The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku"_. Heh.
Ohh, I see-- well if it doesn't work out, then that's okay! Ahh, for Sakuya's theme, I just used the "Change Tempo" tool in Audacity to slow it down! There is no actual slow version.

I have a theory that keine may have been responsible for the pc-98 characters dissappearence. I think at some point Kiene must have erased all of them only leaving vague memories. This would explain why the pc-98 timeline and the windows timeline conflict. And also why the characters haven't appeared and only have been mentioned. ( To be clear the timeline would of been eaten rather than just the characters.) This could leave a potential of them returning if the pc-98 universe is reattached.
