I love when you do the suspension stuff I used to work for a company called quantum racing suspension and built all sorts of bespoke parts but then tryed to sell more road/trackday friendly units to Joe public,all you got was why is it so expensive.Talking to people about suspension is like pissing in the wind but big up you guys for continuing to review it

Took my bike to the MOT here in Switzerland today. Had placed 44 Teeth stickers on my helmet and on both sides of the tank. Got some nasty looks but the bike passed. 😀
Why would that be an issue? We don't have inspection here (California) so I'm genuinely curious.

@@disekjoumoer Interesting, I'm surprised they're that aware of 44teeth. Going double the speed limit is pretty commonplace here that it wouldn't stand out.
@@Z32andCG6 44 Teeth are fairly well known in the biking world, and it was here on YT. Also, Sue was lucky. For someone who lives here, that would have meant confiscation of the bike, permanent loss of license, a fine in the region of $15 and possibly a year or so in jail.

Moto2 as well, Zarco won his back to back titles on WP suspension. All KTM teams (Factory and Satellite) in Moto2 and MotoGP all run WP suspension too.

If there's one thing I've learned is "Count the clicks", that way, you know where you were, what you changed, and how you can go back to the original settings

WP, I thought was great, because it's on my multi standard. And that is great fun. Agreed, I would love to know what crap forks on the same bike would feel like (for a very short time)

Upgrading to Ohlins front and rear on my MT-07 was the single greatest modification i have ever made to a bike, i bet this WP stuff would be a night and day improvement as well. When the stock suspension on such a fantastic series of bikes is so bad, cough Yamaha cough cough, that its nearly unridable the manufacturer should be ashamed and ridiculed. I believe most would rather pay slightly more if it meant the stock stuff had some kind of damping so it didn't have to be thrown away and replaced right away.
and despite that they still sell tons of Mt-07, bestselling bike. Incredible.
@@CyberGasty exactly, it says a lot about how great these bikes are. I bought mine going in knowing the stock suspension was going in the trash immediately and I encourage everyone and of any skill level to put suspension mods at the top of their list as with these bikes in particular its very much worth the expense.
I can forgive Mossy for the interruptions cos he knows his shit and is a serious bike handler. WP bouncers sorted my old 990 duke r out a treat and they aren’t even advanced as their latest kit. Thanks for the video boiz 🤘🏻

Suspension should be the number one mod, not exhausts, carbon tat, etc. the benefits are huge.
The question is would you use WP on a ZX6R race bike?
All I know is Ohlins so stepping into the unknown abit with WP as not many use it from what I can tell by trying to do abit of research

an aftermarket suspension shoot out would awesome video. so, ohlins, Wilbers, YSS, WP, Hyperpro for example.
I couldn't agree more on suspension upgrades but you can get a Ktech DDSpro rear shock and front internals for 1500. Reality is most people on the road can't outride you're budget aftermarket shocks, YSS/Ohlins sport/ktech razorlite, add progressive or linear springs upfront, you then have a good set up under 600 quid

MT09 SP suspension is great.
This is quite different to what you said on the MT09 2017 video review,which you described the fork as having an air of plushness and that you really liked it😅
What's Mossy on and can I get some?! Nice video, audio issues aside but these things happen. I was lucky enough to have the 790 press bike with the Apex Pro on and it's bloody good kit!

Only bike I ever had with really good suspension was the Multistrada 1200S.. the Ohlins on that were fantastic. Smooth like a magic carpet ride, but tight and dialed in where it mattered.
Yeah I don't think mossy should be in videos with others. Sort of destroyed Al's flow.
Decent suspension bits are definitely one of the best things to chuck on a bike. The up-front cost turns people off, but once you take the plunge and set it up right you'll be regretting that it took you so long. Lol
To my understanding Ten kate won all there wk supersport titels with WP suspenssion as well (schock and cartridge kit).

Is there a volume/off button for Mossy? I couldn't remember what you were saying Alistair due to shell shock and PTS from having "where's your fishing rod" Mossy inflicted on my ear-oles lol! His voice was echoing off the buildings so everyone inside probably heard him as well 😂 Aftermarket suspension is usually worth it...but the cynic in me thinks manufacturers could do better as standard instead of promoting SP" bike versions. I'd rather pay a bit more for a sorted bike from new than buy the "affordable" version and have the hassle and cost of upgrading it as lets face it, few bikes are exactly cheap from new anyway.

first time seeing this and ol man is spectacular....idk who he is but can tell the dude is as english say "proper".....yeah i am from southern california so, but our roads suck in a bad way.....so will be looking to upgrade the boingers cuz the stock 890 stuff isnt very good
coming from dirt background where suspension is pretty damn good stock, 2022 890 r suspension feels blah at best....i feel sorry for street guys if 890 is considered "good out of the box....am also the target weight for it.....idk i expected better but to be fair to get a streetbike for sme cost as a dirtbike leaves me dumbfounded considering how much more you get.......but suspension isnt one of the perks
For the price of the KTM 790, it should come with proper adjustable suspension. Now i can see why an FZ07 or Fz09 does't come with adjustable suspension at their price point.
Idk why but all yamaha suspensions on cheaper big bikes, such as the FZ8, MT-09, MT-07 the rearshock feels like a pogo stick, you go over a speedbump bouncing around for the next 10 seconds.

Is this now an option for the KTM 790 Duke? To my mind they could put some different graphics on the bike with this suspension and call it the 790R ? (I had and sold the KTM 790 as I didn't like the suspension (also at the time wanted more power but that was just me being silly)

So my question is, if you’re spending that money updating the MT-09’s suspension would it out perform the SP’s suspension? Why spend that money on the base model when you supposedly get a better unit on the slightly more expensive bike?
Aftermarket is always better than stock. Stock is springed and dumped for median consumer, if you are median it may be ok. But if you are not you can chose different springs and that is allways better. I didnt ride WP, but i think Ohlins is better. I modded my MT09 with YA535 and spring for my mass, and ond the front more dense oil and stiffer spring. Next season i will get NIX 30. There are cheaper routes than Ohlins. For example K tech razor R and Andreani Missano...
