Can you please tell me, best way to send crypto from ledger to trezor ?
Send $1 to the trezor, back up the trezor to steel or titanium plates and then wipe the trezor and recover the seed from the metal plates. Verify that you can see and send the $1. At this point, transfer a small test transaction from ledger to trezor with a QR code (for the error correction vs copy pasting a string) and then use the same steps (but generating a new QR code to avoid key reuse) to transfer the rest once you see that it worked and you're not being scammed into sending to the wrong address somehow.@@Jason.5911
@@Jason.5911 easiest way is setup the same wallets in trezor as what you have in ledger, then send them out of the ledger and into the trezor.
Also, Trezor could be used IN CONJUNCTION WITH a software wallet like Sparrow; so even if the bad guys were able to extract the seed phrase from the Trezor wallet, they'd still have a lot more hurdles to overcome before getting their hands on your crypto.

JOKING: Bro knowing the world these days watch it come out that some billionaire at the top of Ledger struck a bargain with the code writers to swap and cop in the actualization of just another scheme to utilize a legal loophole. Now they are just passing their time while we all switch off of any legal agreements that might have seen them legally entangled with ledger, where an open source project doesn't have the regulation as the ladder 😅😂 either way my brain resembles a pot of soup more everyday
What have they been doing? I just bought a lot of XRP (or a lot for me, at least, since I don’t have very much money to my name) because of the advice of a good old friend of mine who I trust but I am not actually all that experienced with this stuff and I only just recently even got my own laptop so I’m really lost but trying to learn and figure out what the best/safest option is for me to save or download the XRP I bought so I can just pull it out and put it away somewhere without having to think about it for years to hopefully one day support my future self in an emergency or for my family to be able to use when I’m no longer around

yes but you can't use Trezor with the app to send and receive as easily as you can with a ledger!? ive just got a Trezor but needs a laptop ;/ I can literally send and receive bitcoin on the go with a ledger or am I missing something ??

I like this , I got my ledger from them and it was closed but the cable had a Best Buy sticker on it , like someone from inside is opening it and then making it look new in the package and shipping it out from ledger directly- I should not get a burst buy price that had a march 2023 price tag that says Best Buy on it- the box I bought was nano x - why would a march tag on the cord be in a closed box within the same month I bought a nano x - I’ll go for the Trevor forsure ,, thanks
I'm surprised more people arent using Tangem. Why? Is there any security issue that I didn't understand, or anything else? Why Trezor or Ledger are still ahead a product like the Tangem cards. I just decided to go with Tangem, as it seemed to be the best choice to me, but I'd like your opinion guys

Yup they'd have to physically steal your device though so hide it, they'd also be a very specific person with like a million dollars worth of equipment that would target you for some reason.

Hopefully they didn't reveal enough details for somebody to fill in the blanks and spread the method on the dark web or even do a CZcams video! That article says more than enough!
I suppose if you were paranoid enough you could modify the look and design of your hardware wallet. Incognito device. Maybe you could make it look like a multi-card reader.

There could always be a bug or exploit in these devices, being open source or proprietary doesn't make it impossible. That guy was able to extract the seed phrase using an already patched exploit, but the wallet he hacked wasn't updated. This is why it is important to always update your devices.
With open source, the source code is freely available meaning that anyone can find the bugs or exploits and fix themselves for everyone. With closed source, only the creator (in this case Ledger) can see the source code meaning that you have to trust them to do a good job at securing their devices.
Just recently my Trezor wallet says it can't access my balances.

Yes that is the most important thing. To have multiple wallets since you might get it lost , stolen and to mitigate risk.

Oi, what is your opinion about funds safety on Trezor. Thought of getting me one, cause i don't feel conformable holding crypto on binance where i trade, nor on Exodus, which don't give that much trust.
Anyway, thought of getting Trezor but run into dozens of comments ;bout how people's money just disappeared during transaction, account wiped out after half a year of not getting into trezor, etc
Exodus is safer than Binance, but a Trezor is far safer than both. Stay away from ledger, just too much drama with them lately. Yes I've also heard all those stories too of people losing funds. But if you do everything your supposed to do, ie never take a picture or store your seed words in a digital manner, never allow anyone but yourself access to it. Never input your seed phrases into anything but your trezor, and the only time that should ever be would be to restore an old trezor back to original or initiating a new Trezor with seed words from an old one. Many people tend to fall for phishing attempts, they'll get an email that looks like it comes from Trezor, it will say click here to secure your funds or whatever and then it will ask you to input your seed words.. Number one rule is you will NEVER, EVER be asked your seed words, for anything. If your being asked it's either scammers or the police, who knows whatever else too. But if you need to enter your seed words anywhere it's because you initiated it, not because your being asked to do so. Also order from Trezors official website.. Ya ya I know there are official resellers on Amazon and whatever. But just remove any and all possible sources of a breach and you'll sleep better at night. Amazon has been known to resell returns.. So what's to say someone clever didn't buy one, compromise it somehow and repackage it in a way it doesn't seem like it was opened. Amazon will resell it to the next guy, don't be that guy or gal. I highly recommend you get your crypto off of exchanges, it's a very good way to lose all your funds, it's happened before and it will happen again. History tends to repeat itself, especially in crypto, that goes for good news too. Follow best practices and I promise you won't lose a cent. I've had hard wallets since 2013 and haven't lost anything. Oh and remember, it's not the actual device you need to protect at all cost. It's the seed words. You can lose the device, as long you have your seed words your good. I make 5 different copies (hand written of course, not even photocopies, no pictures) and hide them in multiple places, different houses etc...
My ONLY complaint about Trezor is its lack of bep20 storage... as well as a few other coins.

Is it possible to switch from ledger nano S (my screen died, it's now useless) to Trezor safe 3? Nano S has 24 seed phrase while based on their website safe 3 only has 12 seed phrase...
The fact that it is open source is great and all, but how do you know that Trezor is actually loading this version of the code onto the device?
I guess you don't, so in that case you use logic through the process of elimination.

And with all the new crazy developments these last couple days it's pretty hard to endorse ledger anymore. And to this day I'm still getting phishing emails due to them losing my email address and who knows what other sensitive info.
You can load it on yourself. The app has a "replace firmware" option.

You should ideally always update your devices, hardware wallet or whatever else. Updates often have patches for known exploits and not updating could make you vulnerable.

Trezor has a page called ''reproductible build ''. You can compile from source, compute a hash and then verify it is the same
I have owned 4 Ledger devices. I warn everyone, their devices dont last. One day you will try to use your ledger that you only used a couple of times and stored safely, and it will not work. For example the Nano X has battery issues. If you dont charge it, battery breaks and device will not work even if connected.

But if your Ledger created seed phrase was somehow ever leaked because... let's say they do have access to them & were exposed...then your assets could be at risk. Would recommend creating a new seed phrase with another device to be safe!

Trezor sucks - it has absolutely zero protection to your BTC. I clicked onto a link without any approval or whatsoever btc was gone. I didn’t know until few days later. Yet meanwhile for us to move coins around we need to approve and whatever but was totally hackers friendly. Don’t say I did not warn you. Plus it’s not user friendly compare to Ledger.

No, only the Trezor team can edit the code. But the code is visible for anyone else to see.

The open source nature of the Trezor is in my option less safe. Unciphered already hacked one and from what I read the hack is unfixable however it needs physical access to your Trezor, not impossible if you tell people you hold Bitcoin and they want it take it. At least with Closed source only the manufacture can cause issues vs open source you have millions of potential hackers with the full code looking for vulnerabilities.
