Couple things: 1) the weight of your jewelry doesn't mean it's "real" or necessarily more expensive - I'd ballpark 90-95% of people "stunting" wear fake/lab made chains - these are mixed or plated with other metals. 2) Tory is wrong - a flooded gold chain is not an investment - and you will be hard pressed to make 90% of the value back (remember, jewelers are a BUSINESS - they're not giving you links at cost). 3) if you want to invest and really live a fulfilling life - put that 10-20k into a 401k investment instead of a cuban link, retire early, and live happily spending time with friends and family
