    Forget about routes, cuts, pads, or taking hits, that's not the point of this. Olympic sprinters rarely claim, if ever, they could make it in the NFL. The point of Coleman's 40 is to shut up all these NFL players thinking they'd stand a chance against ANY Olympic sprinter, let alone Bolt.

      Double T In The Morning That's not the point he is trying to make. there are all these claims by NFL players who say: "I can run faster that Bolt in the 40.." Coleman shut those guys up by running 1 tenth of a second faster than the faster NFL combine 40 lol

      But Bolt couldn't run a 40 with Coleman. Coleman has the best acceleration I have ever seen. Also Bolts world record 100 he would have been at 4.18/.19 second at the 40 yard mark. But that was on a synthetic Track not astroturf and that was also metal spike sprinter cleats. However this is a real deal 40 not an on track 40.

    Fact is, with training, sprinters could easily run it even faster. A 100m, or even 60m sprinter conditioned to hitting their top speed at around the 70m or 40m mark, respectively. Accelerating too quickly and hitting your top speed too soon, in a 100m, means you spend way more time decelerating. Sprinters don't train to hit their top speed within 36m, NFL guys do, meaning sprinters are still at a significant disadvantage and still smoke the combine guys... and that's not even mentioning the training the combine guys do to get into the perfect 3-point start. Sprinters aren't used to that.

    • @jdslfc
      @jdslfc Před 3 lety +2

      The fact that they reach top speed way past the 40 doesn't mean they are not trying to reach top speed as soon as possible. 100m sprinters are not saving anything, they train to come out of the blocks as fast as possible.

    • @joedagg4495
      @joedagg4495 Před 3 lety +10

      Lol. This is just nonsense. Sprinters train to reach top speed as fast as they can, they're not "waiting" until the 70m. It's because top end speeds are much more important than their acceleration in the 100m and 200m so sprinters put way more focus on top end speed and training to be more explosive out of the block via increased muscle mass hurts top end speed. Therefore they don't sacrifice their body composition for the best possible acceleration phase which would be good for a 30m sprint but not a 100m sprint.

This is all nonsense. We have NO data on the idea; you merely say it because it fits your personal idea of what a runner should look like aesthetically. This is confirmation bias. I would argue that if you KEEP seeing mechanics that run contrary to your personal belief and that THOSE mechanics are being produced by the elite-among-the-elite, then you should probably rework your starting hypothesis. Kill the noise. I'll bet you in the end that scientists will find out that Bolt's stride-side shortening and his uneven gait were a SOURCE of edge, not of a flaw.

This is still incredibly fast but bolt has never been a strong starter, his top speed is what sets him apart, in fact you look at a prime bolt in the 2008 beijing run (which he was projected to run around 9.60 had he not celebrated early), he was slightly trailing at around the 30m mark to richard thompson. considering christian coleman is considered to be the greatest starter of all time this could be the fastest a human has ever ran a 40. First of all, it didn't take into account the -0.5m/s headwind in Rio 2016's 200m final compared to the +1.8m/s tailwind Tyreek had in his 20.14. Nor did to consider the fact that he was obviously way faster over 200m when he actually ran track, compared to now after gaining football weight and focussing on acceleration for the 40y
