Favourite Architects song?
Mine are Broken Cross, Early Grave or These Colours Don't Run
Royal Beggars
I think Gravity personally.
Hereafter for me 👌
Hmm for me mine has to be castle in the air or these colours don’t run
I just like impermenance live to much
It does feel like a love-hate song for the fans, the part of the chorus "we only ever love you when you're seeing red", I'm pretty sure there has been at least one interview where Sam had mentioned fans saying things like "your music was better when you were miserable and pissed off". Which while I agree to an extent, it's a pretty fucked up thing to say and it's definitely affected at least Sam. Cuz these songs are (usually) more for them than for us, we all just usually relate to them as well.
also archiBLEGH lol
This pretty much represents a large portion of fans these days regardless of which band they are a fan of. I remember Chester lashing out about fans calling them sell outs with their less heavy, pop oriented Album *One more Light* . But when Bring Me The Horizon released *Amo* it was accepted and respected. People need to understand that bands don't start making music to please fans. Often times a band forms because they have a passion for music and their music is often times written for them because music can be an outlet for feelings and opinions etc.
It is up to us as fans to ADAPT to the band and not the other way around. We don't get to dictate the type of music a band should make.
@@CarlosHuiskens When was Amo accepted and respected again? All I remember is them getting the same or more hate for changing their sound at the time.
@@wearyolive76 Those hating on Amo were a vocal minority. Those loving Amo didn't really have to say much. That album is also one of their most critically acclaimed albums. So any hate you heard wasn't relevant and definitely not said by real fans.
@@CarlosHuiskens I think BMTH got the same hate on Amo too but not so long after that they released Ludens which kinda redeemed themselves and let fans know they can make heavy song , they were just in the middle of experimental unlike LP they seemed to never make heavy song anymore. What i'm saying is BMTh didn't let their fans lose faith in them unlike LP which they seemed to not care.
@@Holaaparty Allow me to clarify.
1. Ludens wasn't nessecarily heavy. It was heavier compared to anything on Amo BUT a band doesn't just stop being heavy or capable of having a heavy sound just because they went less heavy.
2. What you said about Linkin Park is incorrect and it shows you don't really know the band. Their second to last album was *The Hunting Party* which was primarily seen as a HARD ROCK album which showed that band could easily shift between heavy and less heavy sounds.
3. The difference simply is that BMTH being experimental was accepted and it wasn't accepted with LP. Also shortly after LP's last album Chester committed suicide. So we can never know if LP could ever return to their harder sound but I'm sure they would have.
4. We ( the fans ) DO NOT get to dictate what type of music a band should make. We are the ones that should adapt to the band. If you don't like a new sound that the band is trying then simply shut up and move on instead of insulting a band.
I really like this song from ArchBLEGH. I love how they basically just said “fuck you” to the people who said their old stuff was better and were just being feral to the band. When they came to Australia earlier this year, they played their first show in Adelaide, opening with 3 of their newer songs, and then playing Modern Misery. After that song ended, someone stormed the stage and stole a mic and said “Play your old shit, Tom would be so ashamed of you guys right now”.
Which is funny because they literally were going to play These Colours Don’t Run as the next song. It was also pretty disgusting though. It doesn’t matter how much you don’t like a band’s new direction, you never go and say shit like that.
I mean, some of the lyrics are pretty strong :
"Gee, thanks so much for the death threat
Do you hear the audacity?
You dummies only live on the internet"
And the people pointed at will not even realize it cause they'll be to much headbanging thinking Architects are gonna return to heaviness. And like I said in other comments, to send death threats and bringing on the table how unproud Tom would be, you just deserve the biggest "fuck you" in music industry.
I think my favorite part of the music video is the breakdown because Sam pissed off looking at the camera, not even headbanging/enjoying the moment, with the "Are you happy now?" after. This is to me as funny as an Electric Callboy breakdown haha
Now I do not think there's an album behind that and like you said, you can't even more tell which direction they will go.
ARCHIblegh, this song is a good mix of the old and new, the structure genuinely makes it feel like a more progressive metal take at a modern Architects song
I of course love the old Architects, but I also love the newer stuff-especially how Sam does SO MUCH MORE with his vocals now than he did on the old stuff. This song strikes a nice balance of letting Sam grow and add more expression. But more than anything I appreciate that the song is a little bit of a low-key troll to r/metalcore and all those haters. I love Architects, and I hope I get to see them this coming year. ArchiBLEGH!
ARCHIBLEGH!
Always love these reactions, same vibe as hearing a song for the first time with a friend who's also into music and getting hyped together
I think this has the potential to lead to great things. The older stuff had the heavies and made me do the stank face, it was really dynamic. But I also do love a lot of the choruses off of For Those Who Wish and I think if they come into this next album cycle with the right mindset, it could be the perfect mix of those sounds for me. The back breaking heavy plus the beautiful and catchy choruses could be the move
I love this so much. I love everything architects has done but I think this is a great blend of both directions. The chorus reminds me of the last 2 records, and the verses and breakdown are reminiscent of the older records. And the lyrics to the song are perfect, it’s a big fuck you to the haters who were beyond mean to Architects. 10/10 song 👌
This new Archiblegh song is cool. I hope they mix their styles like this more often. Loved the last few records from them and don’t want them to abandon where they were going with it
I'm in love with Architects since their debut albums and i love every single albums in a different way for each. No matter what they do I always connect with their sounds. I feel like this song was to show their audience like '' see we did it, is it so special to stay in the generic metalcore algorithm? '' They evolve and it's okay to change and do different things as long as they still have this passion of making music for us. I dont see the problem with that. I love their old sound but hey it's Architects they make art no matter what.
My pants are brown 😂 great video dude!
I need that Unprocessed album reaction asap!
I was waiting for this reaction!
This song is a 10/10 for me. I love the chorus and that’s one thing I really loved about classic symptoms. I love Sam showcasing his clean vocals because he has amazing cleans. But I did miss a lot of his screaming because I love older architects also. This song was a blend of both. I don’t care if architects goes country, I’ll still love their music because they came into my life at a time when I needed a band to really relate to what I was going through. I lost my fiancé to cancer, then I heard architects for the first time a couple months later. And it was the album holy hell. Then I went back and listened to all our gods have abandoned us. They instantly became one of my favorite bands. I love what they did with for those that wish to exist. I’ve always been a fan of the band red. And hearing architects use a lot of synth on that album. It drew me in.
What a way to wrap the year w/ this BANGER !!!! 🔥🔥🔥 holy sh*t.
I mean as an Architects fan myself, they have been getting harsh criticism since their last two albums and seeing some fans just straight up breaking Sam apart while saying death threats and all kinds of commentary I mean for me it’s horrible. I think this song is an appropriate response exclusively to the fans that treated them badly. Again, even if soft or heavy, I love Architects deeply and this songs bangs.
I am very much in agreement with you, Crwnul. These fans cannot fucking respect Sam and co., can they?
This👏🏻
Agree with this!
At least half the time it’s “it’s not the old ____” or say they’re not heavy as if it’s always a bad thing. these guys don’t want to scream their faces off when they’re hitting their 40s and I don’t blame them. Plus a lot of their fans are getting older.
I’m now in my 30s and don’t care to hear guttural screams for 3 mins straight anymore. It’s great to have some variety.
It should be even harsher.
I really liked this song especially in the context of the last two albums, I really like FTTWTE and not as much with Classic Symptoms although there are a handful of songs I like from that album. For me I mainly miss the riffs from the old style of Architects but I have no problem with the vocal style, I enjoy Sam's clean vocals so I thought the chorus was good on this one and I enjoyed the harsh vocals on the verses a lot too. I'm curious where they're gonna go with future tracks since they seem to be leaning more into the electronics of Classic Symptoms than the orchestral elements of FTTWTE for the backing
I like that whenever you and I hear a blegh, we both instinctively think of Ohrion
This song is a banger. Really looking forward to the new album if there is one
As I had not heard any other Architects
(I was out of the loop in terms of these genres
since the mid-nineties LOL)
and only heard folks not being happy with their new direction
etc. etc.
I was intrigued by this and the lyrics are very interesting indeed.
I will now have to listen to their early stuff and their last two albums too.
Archiblegh! And the Blegh is really back. Favorite song from them really is Naysayer and These colours don't run. For this new track I'm just happy to hear those heavies again. They asked Are you happy now? For sure! And yes I hoow that they do keep the heavies and find the right combos to make Architects be Architects. I still love em though.
Just a big ol whooooooosh for metalbirb, apparently
I personally have liked/loved everything Architects has released. This song is another banger! 🖤🤘🏻🔥
I agree with your overall with your takes, especially the take about the chorus slowing down the vibe.
ArchiBLEGH! Favourite songs - These Colours Don't Run, Doomsday, Gone With The Wind.
Highly recommend you check out Resurgence by Plagues! Absolutely incredible band I think they are going to get huge!
this!!!!!
This
This gives me the feeling that they're building to something epic. I mean, they crossed genres, but they brought what they learned from that into this, and now they're going to go bigger. I see this as a bringing together of fan genres, then something epic arrives... time will tell
I absolutely agree with your criticisms and the chorus definitely took some time to grow on me, but overall i really liked this song, i’m a sucker for modern metal so yeah… ArchiBLEARGH
Bro ngl this song is FANTASTIC
I dont have an all time fav but my top 5 has to be Gravedigger, Early Grave, Gone With the wind, Black Lungs and actually, Burn Down My House
He did the thing !!!
ArchiBLEGH.. love the lows, breakdown, a little china cymbal action. Chorus was a little typical but yeah, probably my favourite tune since Holy Hell.
I Looooove that this song is calling out those fans, who are never satisfied with them as of late. I love that
this feels like older bmth to me mixed with older architects like bmth in 2013 and arichtects in 2106 thats so freaking good!!!
this song is so fire
The thing about this band as they can make heavy sounds so good a work of art plus the blegh and Sam always does an amazing job on the singing and he’s good at doing cleans the man an the band is so talented an they know how to make music sound so beautifully even if they change up there music they do it so well with there sound old or new there music craft is so so good flawless fire 🔥 and one other thing that I love how creative this band is I love it where I have a kids choir that he adds in his songs. Sam is an amazing talent and has the mastermind of what he wants in his songs and his music with the band. And he does it so well along with band l rate it an 8.5 bro 😎 archblegh
B-B-B-BANGER
This has been a band I could never get into.
*edit* i went and listened to those 3 songs you mentioned. They give an oh sleeper vibe, but the screams just aren't there for me. However, sonically this song sound the best vocally to me, out of anything i've tried to listen to.
The Orion part 🤣
It sucks to see a band attacked into bending a knee by their own fans
Also Archiblegh for funsies
I mean I don't know if they bent the knee. The song is extremely passive-aggressive and a pretty blatant "fuck you" to the 'fans' that talked so much shit.
I really don't expect the album to be all this. I'm expecting more of what we saw in the last 2 albums with the odd heavy exception.
This is the equivalent of BMTH's song Heavy Metal. they're basically picking on the fans that tell them they suck since they aren't as heavy and constantly giving them shit for not having the "blegh". guarantee they didn't bend any knee lol
@@thewanderingwolf7116 I mean, I get it. I definitely misspoke about bending the knee, but it still seems a bit low brow to me. The best part of this is knowing every fan who shit talked them won't be able to enjoy this song because it is a direct "fuck you" to those people, but the people who just weren't a fan of the newer stuff (in a respectful manner) can't really enjoy it either because it's clearly not what they wanna do and it's reflected in the lyrics
@@xXxGR33NDR3AMSxXx i see your point. i personally enjoy when bands give shit back to their fans and non-fans who treat them like shit but to each their own lol
ArchiBLEGH
Favorite still is Impermanence, but this one is pretty hard and could crawl in my top 5 of them probably
Can’t wait for the day people realise if they can’t say something positive or constructive, they should just be quiet. Human beings are at the core of all the things we enjoy and THAT is more important than whether you do or don’t like a song. The people getting upset by this song seem to be missing the point, as I don’t think it’s aimed at people who miss their old sound. It’s aimed at the people sending death threats, saying they were better before Tom died, saying Tom would be ashamed.
Yea so many people missed the point, thinking that it was architects being mad at criticism when it really is a retaliation against toxic "fans" who keep harrassing them by storming stages at concerts, bringing up tom, and etc.
this is the contrast they need to do more, a mixed of their old sound with their new one
I do really feel for em, it really sucks to want to explore and try doing different things, while everyone is always going "ehhh its not like their old stuff this new stuff sucks", like if you dont vibe with it than that is perfectly ok!! The problem is that so many people think its all for them and such, but at least for me Id rather a band I enjoy do what creatively fulfills them instead of just doing the same thing to appease fans and making something not very genuine. Idk, I super enjoy this but im honestly super down for whatever they do next
I've seen Architects this year in June, and Sam said it as well. People don't want them to be happy, they want them to be miserable so they get their sad music fix. One of the song verses said this perfectly.
You oughta know that I'm like a broken machine
I'm not as bulletproof as you all paint me to be
Time hasn't frozen, why do you want me to scream?
Are you a junkie punk, medicating for free?
They're like, "you want to see pissed off we'll show you pissed off" Archeblegh
ArchiBLEGH! Listened to this a few times while travelling today and I do overall think it’s a great track. Won’t complain at a Mick Gordon x Architects crossover.
I find myself going back forth on the crowd vocals though. they make sense given what the track is conveying but just feels a tad off. I agree with the point about the chorus but it’s not as distracting as the crowd vocals.
If this is a new album coming, hopefully it isn't like the last 2 albums. I've only liked select songs on those albums whereas Holy Hell and the albums before; I could listen to the whole album.
ArchiBLEGH ❤
It definitely was an octane-core type chorus, meaning it was really catchy and whatnot. But it wasn't the best part of a really great banger. The verses were definitely the part of the song with pulse. I loved the different levels of screams Sam used to. Using his patented screams but also using alot of lows. This was a certified banger
These childish chorus makes this song a 1/10. So bad and weird. Old songs are good, new ones are completely mainstream trash
This sounded so much like a mix of thats the spirit and ph:survival horror to me, but i agree fully that the chorus kinda took the energy out of the song. Still solid and i am infinitely more into it than the other recent stuff theyve put out
I liked the other albums this great
low key this song feels like a message to the fans.. they changed their sound and most of their 'fans' gave them shit for it.. idk i could be over thinking but seeing Sam pissed off in the video gave me that vibe
I was hoping they’d continue with the sound they ended their last album with. Thank the lord
This sounds like bring me the horizon to me personally
In the 'quieter' moments when there's only drums and some vocals, you can hear the influence of some hardcore/beatdown bands like Knocked Loose. Or am I just hearing things?
that chorus gives me color decay vibes for some reason, just the way its super catchy and the way he pronounces some words, but not as good
I’ve only listened to the last three Archiblegh albums, but this was more interesting than the majority of tracks on those albums. Excited to hear what’s next!
You know what! I think it’s a banger! Giant FU to the haters
king of bleghs has returned
I absolutely love it. But it almost feels weird to love it cause it's like a callout to fans who wanted something heavy, so they're like "here you go, this is what you wanted". Now, I wasn't one of those people, I loved the last 2 albums tbh. But even so, it feels like I shouldn't love it like that lol but idc, I love it. 9/10, especially for that good ol' AchiBLEGH!
ArchiBLEGH!!!
Insert "blegh" here
ArchiBLEGH
Archiblegh 😊
Sam must have seen the collab with Ohrion and said "we're coming back for BELGH crown".
ArchiBLEGH!
Archi-bleigh!
Amazing song. But this very much feels like a middle finger to all the people crying about them not being heavy anymore. Pretty sure that blegh was also a slight diss. And the are you happy now line. Love it! I think they went back to their older sound/weakish chorus was a salt in the wounds type of thing. Could be wrong
Dissing/giving a middle finger? By giving us exactly what we’ve been asking for 😂?
@@kevinkenobipius1557 I think it may have been them doing that as well. But the lyrics felt very like they’re going after the people complaining
@@kevinkenobipius1557what I meant by the blegh and heavier sound being a slight diss. May not have been the right words. I’m working and tried to type fast. Sorry. I think it’s more like a we did growls and a blegh. Now are you happy? Whether they intended for the fans to like it as much as they seem to be. I don’t know
ArchiBLEGHH
I’ll say a solid 7.8
I didn’t like classic symptoms much either. I do like the song a new moral low ground. That song is a banger
We need Architects and Bmth Collab!!!!!
They already did a song with Oli
I feel like so many people are just listening to the song without listening to the lyrics. the song as FUCK YOU to the "fans" who shit on them anytime he's not angry and screaming. So he's calling them out throughout the song while giving them what they want. then even gives them a "Are you happy now"
Archiblegh
I love the lyrics, I love the sarcasm, I love there is a sarcastic blegh, I love the fact that the haters will hate more now since they can't take the lyrics. Architects fans are almost as bad as Bad Omens fans. They should listen to their old stuff or f... 2010 core if that is the era they live in. I actually hope Architects quit now with this f.. you. We have no right to hate bands, criticism yes. To what they go trough should be punishable.
It’s unfair! This song should’ve came out earlier so it could’ve made my 2023 Replay that little bit better.
Architects taking some ques from Spiritbox, I see.
It’s an absolute fucking banger but it’s a shame they felt like they had to make it. The way they’ve been treated in the past year or so is absolutely fucking disgusting.
This song made me feel exactly what I did with Killstreak's The Fall of Reach. Killer verse, breakdowns and all, but the chorus was a major letdown. At least Architects can show their old fans that they still got the ArchiBLEGH elements somehow.
ArchiBLEAGH, I feel like architects brought me back as their fan with this one. I remember when bmth had the same themed song named "Heavy metal", but architects really outperformed them, because this one is literally a great, great metal song
7.5/10
Adidas better slap em with a sponsorship
"We only ever love you when we're seeing red"
Yeah...we do. Funny how people who liked that style of Metal still like that style of Metal.
Was this supposed to be a "sick burn" on people who complained? Because the song is a banger, so I feel lke that backfired.
Only thing i didnt like were the chants, everything else was great
ArchiBLEGH
It was a reaction to fan reception, but if you read the lyrics its a complete fuck you to the fans who were abusive towards them from the last album - outside of the hook its a play by play of 2010s metalcore which I think is very intentional
Unpopular opinion: I really liked the poppy sound of the last album. Sometimes you don't need innovative ideas, just catchy songs.
Makes a song that more closely resembles the old style, while calling out old fans for wanting that style, then it ends up being better than the entire last album
Facts hopefully the CZcams views show that people want this Architects back.
Lyrics/message aside, still closer to the new sound. Followed the same generic pop song structure, no riffs - with a bit of extra chunkiness. Chorus was complete opposite of the old stuff so yeah
@@CraigF1995the song isn’t about their old stuff. It’s about how people said they weren’t “metal core” any more. So they wrote the most basic metal core 101 song
@@joshuapeek9555Then hit upload on the wrong track, apparently. Whoops...
Do remember one day they’re going to slow down because their voices can only take so much with those screams do you really expect them to sound the same when they’re 50 60 or 70they will eventually have no choice but to slow down it’s not always about the fans age of the band members does have a factor
Was once obsessed with this band but I haven't really love their stuff since Holy Hell.
Archiblegh
I like soft Architects
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only heavy song. Kinda like "hey look, we can still write heavy music. Now we'll just go back to doing whatever we want"🤷♂️
I love them calling out the DISGUSTING toxic “fan base” and how the band is treated.
Wasn’t the biggest fan of the chorus. But this was the best architects song I’ve heard in a minute. It’s going on the playlist
When they will understand that the real problem is not the heavy but the lack of creativity and the monotony of their songs, we'll make a huge step. They should take for exemple Motionless in White that is less heavy than before but still creative and by that they achieve to keep old fans while attract newer ones
The bell (which is non existent on the drum set in the video) shows up out of nowhere and shoots us all a middle finger.
This track is a big "fuck you" to the complainers. They did every single cliche in the book, and Sam eyeballing the shit out of the camera during the 2010 breakdown is basically him saying "Yeah, here it is."
This is definitely not them placating the fans. That's why they did the melodic chorus 3 times, to piss them off.
Man, the chorus is MEANT to be disruptive.
So people don't get confused.
This is an outlier, a social experiment to show how easily one heavy song can flip people from hatred to praise.
But they don't want the haters and people sending threats to like it too much.
They're not going back.
They're not Thrice. They don't do legacy act.
I think that the problem with the last album is not that it wasn't heavy, just boring. The cookie cutter verses, nothing was really exciting except 1 or 2 songs imo
As a hater diss track, I guess it'd be hilarious if they don't play this live ever.
