  • We made it to the Block 4 finals! GI/Pulmonology/Metabolism WOOT WOOT!!
Then, after my exams, I went on a fun little adventure to Santa Barbara, one of my newest favorite cities.
If you don't already know me, my name is Ethan, and I am a first-year med student here at UCLA. In addition to being a full-time med student, I'm passionate about community-building, public health, and writing. Also, as part of my quest to live simply and minimally, I live out of a self-converted campervan! 🚐🤠
I have three goals with these weekly videos:
    1. To inspire future generations of young people
    2. To reflect deeply on my new life as a medical student and grow into a more compassionate, disciplined, and intentional individual
    3. To capture my experience and share it with family and loved ones back home
If you want to join me on this journey, please support this project by liking, commenting below, and sharing the video with someone you think will benefit. It would mean so much to me :)

Hey Ethan, I am sure you did great on your exams! I was just wondering, not sure if I missed it in your previous videos --- do you see patients as well? Just curious. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks so much for the question. We'll begin rotating at the hospital and seeing patients next year as MS2s. Currently, as MS1s, we work with standardized patients (actors) twice a week. We also are each assigned a clinical site that we visit around 1-2 times every month where we get to work with real patients.
