Warhammer 40K is intentionally a big blend of all previous sci-fi universes, and borrows heavily from Dune, Alien, Starship troopers, Judge Dread etc. that is kind of the point, to take all that goodness, mix it together and dial up the ridiculousness to 11, Much like the original Star wars was a mix of Dune, WW2, the wizard of Oz and samurai movies in space.

I appreciate this. Minor note: although I haven’t read this, I am familiar with WH and wouldn’t give it more than a 2 for originality.

Thanks. Yeah, and good call. Thing is, I didn’t want to clobber Abnett or punish him for writing in the WH universe. Thanks for watching.

I would respectfully disagree. Abnett is incredibly creative within the bounds of warhammer 40k. His small subpart of the universe is sometimes referred to as 'Abnettverse' as he often introduces new things to the setting, more often for the better. He has coined a few words, one of them being promethium .

This “2 for originality“ is perhaps the dumbest, most smug shit I’ve ever heard. Bravo! Is this what edgy hot takes look like in the Warhammer universe?
