Jamie…… if you want a big viewing base on a specific car, get the mk4, take us on the journey of tuning it realistically for us everyday people that could maybe afford 1. Go up in stages and show us some head to heads with similar power newer cars, street pulls, diy mod upgrades and actually videos of building the car, like a series. Everyone is saying get a MK4, I say just get anything. MK4 are overpriced and they are all over the internet. I literally think the ignorance of most of the people dismissing this car as a BMW is the reason it never clicked.
This comment exactly. The MKV is too recent and still off the heels from the 2020 reveal when the purists gave it too much crap for being a BMW. Same people who said the MKIV was overpriced in the 90s were the same ones later on in life wanting to get one.
Tbh, I was also guilty of this.. and I still call it the BMW Supra to take the piss.
Truth is, I really like the car now after a few years seeing the potential and it comes with one BMW's best ever engines to date. Although the front end styling still looking a bit odd to me.. as a whole it's still looks way better than the recent BMW M cars and that helped a lot to sway me even more.
It's def gonna be an iconic car in the future I reckon, just might be a slow burn like the IV to get there.

I preferred the cupra build, mainly because I had one. Still holds a place in my heart that hot hatch but I can't moan. Big upgrade to a V8 RS4. Would deffo tune in for the cupra again, but i watched the supra vids any way.

Sounds awesome. Supra is quite near the top of my next car list, you get a fair bit for your money.
I’m just starting to like the MK5 since the manual being released. I know a lot of folks aren’t cool with most of the car being engineered by BMW, and I’m not sure how many people know that the 2JZ GTE was engineered by Yamaha. And yes, I know the auto is faster but I prefer to row my own gears, I’ve been like that since the 90s.
I own an A90 6MT. The smiles per gallon are absolutely priceless. Best manual on the market right now. If you can look past the bmw collaboration, you'll enjoy it.

To be honest the Supra is too BMWfied.

I think it also proves that a car needs to have more than just speed or power to be interesting.
I must say I seen a red one at NEC and it got a nice phat rear end. I think red is best colour for Supra🤔🤔🤔

The engine has so much potential, full builds easily pass 1000bhp, unfortunately getting that many ponies down through the back end is not an easy task as your finding out at 760bhp 😁 sounds unbelievable though!
There's multiple a90 supra running 700 to 800 without traction issues. Just needs better suspension, setting up and radials.
@@JDMz radials are not road legal in the UK however, semi slicks is the best were allowed on the road unless you want to turn it into a track car

I’d love to see an X-Drive M340i big turbo big power build. A Cupra to me is just a cheeper Golf R. It’s a cool car but it will never sound as good as the B58 and it’s FWD? (Unless I’m mistaken). Just blown away some people would rather see more content on that. I guess the Cupra is more obtainable for most people than this Supra. Maybe that’s why. More relatable.
That g35 turbo would have been far better than this litco turbo.Would have been nice to see what the potentials of that turbo are on stock block

People are lacking taste these days, the new Supra is stunning but kids these days only seem to want to see RS3s, Golf-Rs and various bland BMWs 🙄…I’m in the market for a new car next year and the Supra is on my shortlist - i couldn’t care less that there’s faster, more powerful stuff out there, it looks stunning and I’d smile every time i walked out of the house and saw it on the driveway 👍🏻

It's very clean, very smart, the B58 engine is surgically fine (though I don't think it has much left to give - it's the Aldi of engines, fast & reliable out of the box, but a bit bland precisely because of that)... BUT it's just NOT a Supra in my mind. Toyota got lazy with their sports cars - piggybacking on Subaru and BMW - and the results don't really set the world on fire. This may be why you reckon it's not really generated much interest on here, but I respect your enthusiasm for your projects. Good luck to the new owner.
It wasn't lazy, they couldn't afford to develop a 2jz replacement let other parts. Manufacturing costs of building a new platform for a car costs multi-millions of pounds.

Sick build, but the car itself just never captured the hearts of Supra fans out there. Modified or not. Even the manual option that recently came out doesn't seem to be making many appearances lol
