So glad you used Cokecroft's arrangement and you were true to it without changing it! Not that it couldn't have been, but it would've been difficult to improve upon his masterpiece here. I knew them all well and sang with Bill Cain often in San Diego over the years before his untimely death. I live only a couple miles away from one of the Society's greatest all-time Leads, Mr. Bob Franklin, down here in Vero Beach, FL. They were years ahead of their time. Love the Suntones! Well done, TIm.
Actually I've heard tell that it wasn't Gene Kokeroft's arrangement but rather Bill W. (can't afford to misspell his name, but not Bill Cane, another Bill who arranged Suntones songs). BTW, bagpiper here. If you wanna experience a perfect cross between bagpipes and barbershop, look at the Italian bagpipes.
I loved it! I wouldn’t have thought it possible to arrange this tune for barbershop. Rather than a Sammy Davis Jr vibe, it feels more like The Manhattan Transfer. Well done…and sung.
This is a true masterpiece! I wish I could meet you before I die. Since that is highly unlikely, I hope I meet you in the Millennium, which is roughly ten years away. Your beautiful music is eternal and will live on throughout eternity. God bless you for developing your magnificent gift.

Ooo yes! I remember watching Storm Front performing this for the first time and it is still one of the funniest things I have ever seen. And of course, I love that bassline! Pretty much monotone the whole time and I love it!

I'm not making hyperbole here: I *love* barbershop, but there are many groups where, even though everyone sings on key, they sound as if it's *WORK* to sing there. When Rachmaninoff played the piano, his notes were so *SECURE* that you relax and expand your soul, even compared to other world-class pianists. Your singing, in all of your registers, is not only right on key, but *SO SECURE* that your singing just sounds more beautiful! I don't think anyone singing or recording today can match you!!

You really do these Suntones-inspired tunes a heck of a lot of justice. It's really pleasing to the ear to hear just a little more baritone fluorish in some of these chords because we all know Harlan was the all time master at blending in!
