I'm mad your video was more helpful than the women's videos. 😆 🤣 First time using the sponge and it turned out great. Following you. 🤩
Hi quick question does this work on big afro? Or is it only for small hair, because i have much more hair than the guy in the video
Great video I am a single mother of three boys and I need to learn it thank you so much I never knew what was the flight site for but now I know please show me more video thank you
@@trich4life I don’t 🎉 a 🎉🎉
What products do you use
I like the spiked side. the flat side gave me a waved look, but smushed my hair. The spiked side gave me little loc twists. which is what I wanted. It also works best when my hair is dry too.
you probably have longer hair then him
@@lor_dom_22 So do you
Thanks that helped
@@lor_dom_22 yeah my hair is way longer than his and spiked side is 100% better for longer hair.
Same
After a few years Waves made me recede I’m going for this look
Me to!
Same, ill let it grow and eventually braid it
Same
@@realstepper5686 make sure you braid above the hairline to be extra careful on hairline
@@jesusisking3722 Ah, Thanks for the info
I'm a white Mediterranean girl, but I watched this video, cause this sponge technique looks soo interesting and so fun, I didn't know this existed 😅😋❤️
Don’t take our look

Coming from from having locs myself for almost 10 years, this video gets the thumbs up and a subscription 👍🏾
Just cut Mines from having them for 10 year.
I just received mine from Amazon, and had no idea how to use it. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for this video. I just bought the same Sponge and was wondering what each side looked like. This helped out great.
Thanks so much for this video; I just cut my locs after 40+ yrs n I bought this sponge. Pray for me yall 😅
Me too, yesterday, after 10 years
I got locs I’m thinking about cutting after 12 years I’m ready for a new look
Brush I just cut mine today 12 years also. Honestly before you cut them just be sure that's what you really want to do. It honestly hurt my soul to cut mine, but I had to
Cut mine after 20+ years this is really a journey fellas, hope everyone dig they they new look!! And figure out this damn sponge lol
Goodluck man
I wish these was around in like 2010 when I used to think i needed a texturizing kit to get hair like that.
Real talk bruh! Catz used to be out here S-Curl'n it up trying to get this look!
Early 2000's for me
Fr! 🤣
Too bad your bald now 🤷🏼♂️
@@allaboutcars4835 yeah my lil baby fro wasn't workin..back to the wave brush
Thanks bro, I just understood and it's working thanks to your video, you just have keep brushing by doing circles continuously without pressure and that's how you obtain results.
A big thanks.
I was going to get box braids, but after watching this I decided I will get tight curls using the sponge, thank you.
Thank you for explaining about the clockwise/counter clockwise of the sponge.
Man, the sound the sponge was making reminded me of the time I recorded my dryer going and I had change in my pants pocket that fell out in the dryer and I made a Neo-Soul beat from it.
For me (small 4C afro):
1. mixing eco gel and some jamaican castor oil in my hands and then massaging into my hair,
2. using the flat side of the sponge to completely twist up all my hair,
3. then using the textured side completely all over my hair to loosen the twists
Edit: turns out the sponge has been breaking my ends this whole time and keeping my 4c hair short 🤦🏽♂️ lol if this is happening to you as well do this instead:
1. Pat coconut oil on your hair and then massage into your scalp
2. Use the scalp massager and it twists up your hair just like a curl sponge but further down to the roots for deeper twists, also better blood circulation and no breakage
3. Could then also use a wide tooth pick to lift your twists slightly but don’t comb all the way through
My 11 yr old wants me to do this to his hair, I believe he is 4c, from what I can tell. I think you've given the best tip from other videos that I've watched. Ty!
Does it matter what kind of eco gel?
Can you do it with wet hair
I have a question
What scalp massager did you use for that?
I apply a little pressure cause it seems like my hair won't curl, I also use a little defining gel and spray moisturizer or water.
3:23 got me cracking
I recently had locs and had to cut them because I would twist them to thin but have decided to grow them back . Hopefully this video will help me grow my hair back out.
A non destructive way to have good hair. Thanks fod helping me
Yea I agree with you bro,
I like the side with holes better too!
just got my hair sponged for the first time mad dope i just bought one, does your hair have to be wet?
Thanks for the tutorial. Got the sponge. Hair looks Great
recently cut my locs and purchased a similar two sided sponge. although I couldn't see a difference the spiked side works best for me wet or dry hair and seems to be like the run and grab side instead of having to set aside time to sponge my head in the mornings. LIKED & SUBSCRIBED
Locs is the wave twin why’d you cut em😭
Wavy Crockett

Hi quick question does this work on big curly afro? Or is it only for small hair, because i have much more hair than the guy in the video
@@xdmuhxd1843 I’m pretty sure you just have to use the rigid side and it’ll work better for you
Quite a work out.. love it. But can I use Gel Wax with a little ECO gel.🍧
Right On! I appreciate the demonstration!

Hi quick question does this work on big curly afro? Or is it only for small hair, because i have much more hair than the guy in the video
Thanks man I needed this
The sound of the sponge on his hair is so satisfying
LMAOOO
I like the left side. Works quicker!!!!👍💯
Looks great thanks
Thank you for making this video
Do u use any hair products first? How long do u curl to get results
What about using products for sheen or curl activators before sponging?
Great info, thanks for sharing.
I like the right side. Thanks for sharing.
It looks great! Thanks for your time!
thanks bro! helped a lot :)
My son hair naturally curl and it's quite a issue with brushing his hair so I'ma give this a try and see if it's work for him
It Really Works🔥🔥
Great video bro 😎 I just bought this product at rite aid and I have a question I hope it doesn’t sound dumb but would u recommend tht I can use this curl sponge in the shower while showering?
Thanks for the video!
yeah that's my preference too the flat one
I like both to me but I'm digging the curly hair looks different on you
Thanks
I like your hair, both sides look the same 😊
Thanks Wavy!!
🔥 tutorial bruh
been tryin to figure out can u use the holes side and what the results would be going to try that out
Should you sleep with this look or put some over it like a bonnet to preserve it
Shoutout to you Brodie life saver
Big salute
Great info, thanks
Salute
Great video
Thank you for this video. nice
Thank you bredwin. You saved me 😭
Thank you I always apply pressure now I won’t and I always just rub it I never went in circles
Where did you get your glasses from? I need to get those.
New to it but this definitely a good start cuz I had no idea abt the hairline lol
I wonder if it will work on my hair. I have braids but I’m going to get a new look. It should work on any type of hair?
I watch a video that they used the bumpy side first then tighten up with the Smooth side to finish then give it more definition as title curls
Thank you so much this helped me 📶🔥💯📌
Thanks bro I'm from Philippines
I'm confused. What is the difference in the look of the hair after each side is used? I'm buying one for my son and wanted to see how to use first. I like the way it looks but I don't see much difference in using the bumply side compared to the alternate side with the holes? And should I be putting any sort of product in his hair before using the sponge? Water, detangler, moisturizing oil stuff?
Just using water is fine everything else extra
Depending on hair texture u gotta go by trial and errors I found out finally
Use products in his hair especially breakage protection products cuz the sponge will cause breakage after awhile unless the hair is protected
I like the left side Will it work with hair twice the length of yours?
Thanks man 💪
Great video my g
Wat are some good hair products for sensitive hair and people that are beginners in using a twist/curl sponge
Do you out anything on your hair before this process?
How long are you to use the sponge on the head?
Thanks for making this viddy.
Do you sleep in a curl cap?
Thanks bro I had just took my braids out and had forgot
Does it work same way with faucet hawk
I like the side with the holes
Thank you man
Bro my hair feels curly and i like the side with the holes but im saving this and liking it
All I can say is respect
Where can I get those glasses from?
They look sick
Does all of this apply to 3c hair?
I wish they had this back in 79 when I wore my juri curl! 😂
I think I like the left better but they both look nice and practically the same 😊
Juss brought my jawn today.Dont forget to use your shea mosturizer
Try Eden Coconut Shea. It's BoB and formulated for our hair. Shea Moisture is no longer BoB, they hiked the price, and is getting negative feedback from the community.
No big difference but slightly prefer the right side thank you very much brother 🙏
Do u use any products in yo head wen u sponge it
Been waving for YEARS..but let it grow out , was gonna cut it at the start of the New year.. but I happen to get the same sponge brushes from Amazon and will give this a try..
Same bro, dropped the waves for this... shit better have me lookin right😭
Hi quick question does this work on big curly afro? Or is it only for small hair, because i have much more hair than the guy in the video
