- A recently re-discovered Super-8 cine film showing arrivals & departures at EMA in 1973, featuring BAC 1-11's, Viscounts and a Fokker F27 Friendship.
Most planes are British Midland but the BAC1-11 with the white cross tail plane was HB-ITL - the only BAC 1-11 belonging to Phoenix Airways of Switzerland - see de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix...
Apologies in advance for the grainy film but the original 8mm cine film is 50 years old and has lasted longer than the airline(s) and airliners!
Great footage of a bygone age. Love the old aircraft. The Herald you mention is infact an F27, probably Air Anglia .
Yes, I have re-looked and you are correct, it is a F27 Friendship, - the silhouettes are very similar.
