The opportunity to be of service to others, to lead and to test myself are just a few of the reasons I joined the Navy. Learn more here: greitensformissouri.com/
Now that analysis was awesome, thank you and God bless. Now having said that, and being an Army combat paratrooper (101st. Airborne Division 'Screaming Eagles' Vietnam/Cambodia) I must say GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!!!
According to Wikipedia (I know, I know), he's got a Purple Heart, a CAR, and a Bronze Star. He obviously did something - aside from passing BUD/S and SQT. A PhD recipient and a Navy SEAL? That's NOT a life wasted.
@@blacksquirrel4008 Thank you for pointing this out, I actually thought he was pretty cool until I actually looked into him. He's so disingenuous it's unreal
James but Grietens only did two years active after BUDs then went to reserves, then was active again augmenting a SEAL/Marine unit in Iraq, then went back into reserves. He basically did the absolute minimum necessary.
Why didn't you stay in and fight. You passed the hardest training in the world. That is fact. But you never deployed or engaged in combat. You got into politics, wrote books and never got your hands dirty. I've seen interviews with several SEALs that despise you and your constant embellishing.
LUKE SXHC no way is hell either of those are harder, go sit in the Pacific Ocean in the middle of winter on top of a week with continuous physical excursion and no sleep. Then come back and tell me how any other form of military training can compete with that. And that’s before the training ever starts, BUD/s is just the selection/test, just to be able to start the real SEAL training the public never hears about.
dogpatch52 you should google “Grietens New Yorker profile” they (New Yorker magazine, free online) recently ran a long profile of Grietens time in the SEALs and it isn’t pretty. He’s pretty much hated by active duty SEALs and those he served with. Basically, he never served with a SEAL platoon, and when after two years he was offered the chance to be the AOIC of a platoon, said nope, I’m outta here.
scotiansen He’s done a hell of a lot more than you have for this country. You’re saying he doesn’t seem like a SEAL? Why not? Because he’s clean cut and doesn’t talk in a country tonality? Just fuck off man, don’t disrespect people like this.
Read his book, The Warriors Heart, it is the most inspiring story of all time. This man is a hero. One of my top wishes would be to meet him.
Beautifully said.
So do what makes you happy but be responsible and thank you for your services sir. 💪
Amazing, truly inspiring
I love this guy

"What did it coast?" His eyes: "Everything"
Pretty accurate.
Other than misspelling “cost”.

Has Shipley confirmed his former SEAL status?

LUKE SXHC SAS is not the best, plain and simple
LUKE SXHC America has the best special operations....it’s a fact dumbass
Stolen valor
I served in the USMC and I have a problem believing this story. I don't think he has the integrity to serve in the Seals.
